The College commenced in 1965 as a member of Vancouver Community College and in 1970, it gradually opened its West Avenue campus. Langara College was established in 1994 as a self-governing public college by the Provincial College along with Institute Act. The Langara College is also given a name as the house of teachings, a title granted to the college by the Musqueam First Nation. Presently, Langara College is one of the prime British Columbia & rsquo;s leading undergraduate institutions providing University Studies, Career Studies, and Continuing Studies programs and programs to more than 21,000 students every year. It mainly provides courses in Arts, Business, Science& Technology, Humanities& Social Science and in the Health Department.

Few of the Noted Alumni of Langara College are Daniel Doheny ,Canadian actor known for starring in the Canadian comedy film Adventures in Public School and the Netflix films Alex Strangelove, a coming-of-age story, and The Package, a raunchy comedy; Alison Acheson, a Canadian writer of fiction for adults and children; Ujjal Dev Singh Dosanjh, a Canadian lawyer and politician; Joel "Joey" Haywood, a Trinidadian-Canadian professional basketball player.
