The State University of New York College at Oneonta, often known as SUNY Oneonta, is a civic liberal arts college. Its predecessor was Oneonta Normal School. Established in 1889, the school was later called the State University College of Education. The university is among the most valuable universities in the northern United States. Campus Life

In addition to the 250-acre picturesque campus, students can also visit the adjoining College Camp, which once was farmland. Now it has the largest College Observatory and optical telescope. The campus and surrounding communities are on the hill of the charming city of Oneonta, attracting, nurturing and inspiring pupils in all aspects of life. More than half of its learners reside in one of its 15 dormitories for experiencing a remarkable exciting campus life! There are over 125 student organizations in total and more than 20 sports teams. Apart from serving to a broad horizon of varied niches, these clubs and organizations also host hundreds of hours of entertainment, sporting events and social activities each semester. Moreover, campus security is coordinated by the University Police Department, which has 17 sworn police officers, ensuring a secure atmosphere for everyone.
