In the IELTS listening section, you will listen to four recordings of native English speakers and then answer a series of questions based on what you hear. The questions will be in various formats, including multiple-choice, matching, sentence completion, summary completion, and map and diagram labeling. The recordings can only be heard once. Students will have 10 minutes at the end to transfer their answers. In total, 40 questions need to be answered within 40 minutes. IELTS examiners will evaluate your ability to understand main ideas, detailed factual information, the opinions and attitudes of speakers, the purpose of an utterance, and the development of ideas.

The recordings include:

Recording 1: A conversation between two people in an everyday social context.
Recording 2: A monologue in an everyday social context, such as a speech about local facilities.
Recording 3: A conversation involving up to four people in an educational or training context, such as a discussion between a university tutor and a student about an assignment.
Recording 4: A monologue on an academic subject, like a university lecture.

The IELTS reading test comprises three sections, containing a total of 40 questions that must be answered within 60 minutes. The questions may include multiple-choice, data identification, sentence or summary completion, matching lists or phrases, and identifying writers' views. The test is designed to assess a variety of reading skills. These include reading for gist, main ideas, details, skimming, understanding logical arguments, and recognizing writers' opinions, attitudes, and purposes. The IELTS Academic Reading test includes three long texts ranging from descriptive and factual to discursive and analytical. In the IELTS academic writing, the topics involved are of general interest and suitable for those entering undergraduate or postgraduate studies or seeking professional registration. There are two tasks: In task 1, you will be presented with a graph, table, chart, or diagram and asked to describe, summarize, or explain the information in your own words. In task 2, you will write an essay responding to a point of view, argument, or problem. Your responses to both tasks must maintain a formal style of writing.

The IELTS General Training Writing test format consists of two tasks and lasts for 60 minutes.

• In Task 1, you will be presented with a situation and required to write a letter requesting information or explaining the situation. The letter can be personal, semi-formal, or formal in style.
• General writing task 2 is similar to that of academic writing task 2.

The IELTS speaking section evaluates your spoken English skills.

Part 1 - Introduction: The examiner will ask general questions about yourself and familiar topics such as home, family, work, studies, and interests. This part lasts between 4-5 minutes
Part 2 - Candidate Task Card: You will receive a card with a specific topic to talk about. You will have one minute to prepare for the cue card round before speaking for up to two minutes. The examiner will then ask one or two questions about the same topic.
Part 3 - Discussion: You will be asked follow-up questions related to the topic in Part 2, allowing you to discuss more abstract ideas and issues. This part of the test lasts between four and five minutes.
