The IELTS speaking mock test includes questions of IELTS speaking part 1, part 2, and part 3. Practicing with the given speaking mock test will help you understand the pattern and the actual IELTS test.
The IELTS speaking test is a face-to-face discussion with a certified examiner, lasting between 11 and 14 minutes. It is designed to be interactive and resemble a real-life conversation.
The test consists of three parts:
- Part 1: Introduction - You will answer questions about yourself, your family, and your personal experiences.
- Part 2: Candidate Task Card - You will be given a specific topic to speak about, which will be introduced by the examiner on the day of the test.
- Part 3: Discussion - You will engage in a longer discussion with the examiner, expanding on the topic from Part 2.
There is only one version of the IELTS Speaking test for both the Academic and General Training modules. Since the questions and topics are the same for both, all practice materials provided here are suitable regardless of which IELTS test you are taking. How to answer the IELTS speaking mock test?
- The IELTS Speaking Mock test should be practiced just like you sit for an IELTS speaking test.

1. How do I practice for the IELTS Speaking test?
Practice without memorizing any answers. You can use simple language as you use during normal conversations. Learn to speak with decent pronunciation and vocabulary. You can refer to the IELTS speaking vocabulary to get more words for the mock test.
2. How can I get 8.5 in IELTS Speaking?
Understand the test format for the speaking test and the types of questions asked. Know about the IELTS Speaking band descriptors for the scoring criteria and prepare accordingly.
3. Should I speak for complete 2 minutes in part 2 of Speaking?
Yes, you have to speak for the full 2 minutes. Sometimes the examiner will ask you to stop while you speak. If the examiner is convinced of your skills they will stop you early and will move on to part 3.
4. How long will it take to complete an IELTS speaking mock test?
The IELTS speaking test usually takes less than 15 minutes to complete. You must be able to complete the mock test within that time. For the part 2 question, you can take 1 minute for preparation before you answer the question.
5. Does the IELTS speaking question repeat?
The topics in the IELTS speaking test can be repeated. But the questions asked in the test can change. You may not get the same questions asked in the previous test paper.
