The passages in the IELTS Academic test are sourced from journals, magazines, newspapers, books, and research papers, while the IELTS General test includes passages from brochures, advertisements, company policies, and similar materials. These passages assess your understanding of the main ideas, details, inferences, skimming, scanning, logical arguments, and the writer’s opinion, attitude, and purpose. The IELTS Speaking test, lasting 11-14 minutes, evaluates your communication skills through a face-to-face interview with an examiner.
