GRE Cancellation & Refund Policy

ETS allows you to cancel your appointment up to 4 days prior to the exam date to be eligible for the refund. No matter how early you cancel the test, you will qualify for a refund equivalent to only 50% of the registration fee, i.e. $106.5. ETS processes all refunds in US dollars and no cash refunds. 

Non-eligible Refunds:

You’re not eligible for a refund if you:

• Cancel after the cancellation deadline
• Don’t submit a task response by the task deadline
• Submit task responses that are off topic, blank or can’t be scored
• Register for the wrong test

Apart from the above, reschedule, late registration, resubmission and other service fees are also nonrefundable.

You can pay GRE fees using personal paper cheques drawn of US bank accounts only and addressed to ETS-GRE. Also, ensure the cheque date is not over 90 days. 

What is the waiver for GRE Exam Fee?

ETS allows eligible candidates to claim a waiver for GRE Exam Fee. There are some terms and conditions to avail the GRE fee reductions. College seniors or unenrolled college graduates planning to take a GRE test in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam or U.S. Virgin Islands can redeem to appear for a General and Subject Test at half the exam fee.
