IDP Education is the official organisation conducting the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) exam in 75 cities across India. The exam fee for both the academic and general modules is INR 18,000. To appear for the exam, interested candidates should contact an authorised organisation such as IDP. The IELTS exam can be taken in two modes: paper-based or computer-delivered, depending on the candidate's preference. With several IELTS exam centres in India, IDP aims to provide a convenient and accessible testing experience for English language learners.

To register for the IELTS exam, candidates can visit the official IDP India website and follow the instructions provided. After registering, candidates can choose the exam dates and select the location and test mode that is most convenient for them. Students can take the IELTS exam at any one of the IELTS exam centres in India. Computer-based IELTS test dates are available every day in the month, while paper-based IELTS test dates are available up to 4 times per month, totaling 48 fixed test dates per calendar year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, IDP has taken necessary measures to ensure the safety of candidates during the exam, including social distancing and sanitization protocols.

Note: From 25 July 2021, British Council is no longer conducting IELTS exams in India.
