Where it is?
Dubai, a city in the United Arab Emirates, is widely known as the top destination in the country. It started off as a small fishing village in the 1700s, but it has transformed remarkably into a global hub by the 2000s.

What it is famous for?
Dubai is a city known for its towering skyscrapers and beautiful beaches, attracting tourists and big companies alike. It's home to remarkable structures like the second tallest five-star hotel globally, as well as the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.

How you knew this city?
Because it is a famous city. Everyone knows it. not just me. It’s a dream city where everyone wants to spend their vacation, but few can afford it due to financial problems.

This place is famous for tourists and offers lots of jobs in tourism, management, and hospitality. The city provides excellent services for both locals and visitors.

Introduction

  • India is a diverse country. There are many beautiful cities in India. Well I am really into traveling. I have visited numerous wonderful cities in my life.

Where it is?

  • But Here I am interested to talk about a well known city, Jaipur. This is the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Rajasthan. 
  • Also, it’s known as the pink city of India. Jaipur is renowned for its breathtakingly beautiful buildings, such as, Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal, city palace, Amer Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Albert Hall museum, Jantar Mantar and several others which are tourist attractions

What it is famous for?

  • Jaipur is a major hub for arts and crafts, has many traditional shops selling antiques, jewelry, leather, handicrafts, gems, bangles, pottery, textiles or what not. 
  • I came to know about this city from my bosom friend. Actually once he visited Jaipur and he uploaded pictures on social media which were very appealing.

How you knew this city?

  • One of my close friends told me about the mesmerizing beauty of Jaipur. What’s more, I googled and gathered a huge amount of knowledge about this city, I found it the most fascinating city. 
  • Up To now, I have visited Jaipur plenty of times.

  • Additionally, shopping here is quite entertaining and amazing. Whenever I visit there I never forget to purchase loads of handmade items for myself and my family members. 
  • Finally I’d say everyone should visit this royal city of India in order to enjoy its beauty and learn about it.

Where it is?
Auckland is the city I will talk of every time I am approached with such a question. This is a small city in New Zealand. A country in Oceania blessed with islands and numerous historical places. There are a lot of tourist sites for travelers to have a look at when they visit the city, and this is one of the things that brings more people to a particular city which this small city is blessed with.

What it is famous for?
Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, is renowned for its stunning natural beauty and diverse landscapes. It is often referred to as the "City of Sails" due to its extensive harbor and passion for sailing. The iconic Sky Tower dominates the city's skyline and offers breathtaking panoramic views.

How you knew this city?
I got to know about this city when I decided to travel and further my education overseas. I got the opportunity to enroll in one of the renowned universities in this country, so I decided to read a lot about this country, and that is how come I got to know about the city Auckland. And what really fascinates me now as I am in this country is that they are 13 hours far ahead of us, which is really surprising.

This city is interesting in my opinion because it is a country where criminal activities are very rare, and the people in the city know themselves and also loves themselves, and in the best of it, the people of the city loves visitors and gives very good hospitality to them when they visit.

Auckland's unique blend of urban sophistication and unspoiled nature makes it a truly exceptional destination that captures the essence of New Zealand's charm and allure.

The following are the follow-up questions for the topic “Describe a city that you think is very interesting”. The IELTS speaking part 3 - follow up question session is conducted for 4-5 minutes


1. Why do some people like to visit historical places?
People go to historical cities to learn/gain knowledge about the past, the way of life of the people in the past, their culture, their roots, and the architecture.

2. Why do people go to modern cities?
People visit modern cities for a variety of reasons. Some travel for work/business, while others travel for pleasure. Those who travel to modern cities for enjoyment do so to experience a way of living in which modern technology is incorporated into every element of existence and to learn and witness how people there use technology in their everyday lives. 

3. What are the issues raised by the preservation of historic cities?
The problems that maintenance of a historical city perhaps can cause are related to the funds required for the restoration and upkeep of the city. Another issue could be the pressure on the resources of that city because of tourism.

4.Do you think having too many tourists is a positive thing for historical attractions?
No, I don’t think so. I believe that too many tourists will lead to pollution and also will affect the upkeep of historical sites. Such sites need a lot of care and maintenance and limiting the number of visitors to such sites can help maintain them, prevent damage to such sites, and also sustain tourism.

5. What can we do to stop visitors from damaging historical places?
To prevent the damage to historical places by the visitors to such places many measures can be taken. There should be strict punishments, like high fines for the people who try to cause harm. There should be security personnel employed to ensure that no one tries to damage the historical places and along with that there should be security cameras installed to monitor the activities of the tourists.

6. Why do some young people like to live in cities?
Cities offer numerous amenities for people to live comfortably, with good job opportunities and transportation options. Young individuals also enjoy exploring the many popular attractions found in cities.

7. Do most elderly people live in the city or in the countryside?
Many older people prefer living in the countryside because they find peace there. For instance, my parents worked in cities for 40 years, but now they're back in their hometown, enjoying the fresh and natural air of the village.
