Allow me to introduce you to the Mekong River, a magnificent and powerful waterway that has won my attention and affection through the years. This is a trans-boundary river in Southeast Asia and it is the 3 largest river in Asia. 

Where is it ?

The Mekong River flows through many Southeast Asian countries, including China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. It stretches over 4,900 kilometres and encompasses a large portion of the region. The river discharges 475 km3 (114 cu mi) of water annually. 

What is the land near it like?

The scenery surrounding the Mekong River is breathtakingly beautiful. The river flows through the rocky terrain of the Tibetan Plateau and deep gorges in Yunnan, China, at its higher reaches. As it travels, it passes through lush jungles, fertile plains, and scenic deltas. Its banks are a diverse tapestry of cultures, traditions, and ecosystems.

Because of its varied significance, the Mekong River holds a special place in my heart. For starters, it provides water for farming, transportation, and food through fishing to millions of people in the region. It is extremely important to the livelihoods and culture of the people who rely on it.Furthermore, the Mekong River is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. This river shows the rich biodiversity and varied ways of life of the communities along its banks, from the tranquil mountains of Laos to the busy floating marketplaces of Vietnam's Mekong Delta.

My admiration for the Danube River is complex. For starters, it has magnificent natural beauty. The scenery along the Danube is breathtaking, with undulating hills, tranquil riverbanks, and architectural marvels. Overall, Lake Bled is a place where nature, history, and tranquillity come together, making it a special spot for me.
