Describe a time when you encourage someone to do something model answer 1

Introduction

We often want to inspire others or draw them from their comfort zone. With regards to this, recently I went to Rishikesh with one of my friends, and I persuaded him to do what he initially didn't want to do. I went to Rishikesh during the summer public holidays. We were all in lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic. So we all wanted a break. Our plans became mainly tourism. However, when we reached there, I realized that Rishikesh is known for its travel sports activities like paragliding,  rafting, and cliff jumping. After hearing them, I was very excited and wanted to try them.

Who he or she is?

Dev is a bit afraid of heights and water, so he refuses to do all the activities as it would be dangerous. But  I knew from childhood that he would really regret not trying them later.

What do you encourage him/her to do?

It was also a chance for him to overcome his fear. So I encouraged him to try. Show him an example of someone doing this on YouTube.

How did he/she react? And explain why you encouraged him/her?

At first, he just refused and told me to go with the other group that was going there. I kept talking to him about all the safety precautions so he said the best thing would be to speak to someone who had been there before and show a check of activity on their google thoughts. Talking to some of them at the paragliding site calmed him down a bit. They all talked about how safe it was, and some even said it was one of the best experiences of their lives. After listening to them, my friend was a little more willing to try. I just needed a little nudge. So I said “Go ahead”. If all goes well, you have to stick to it. To be honest, he wasn't sure if he really would. But he did. It really was a great experience. My friend was also very happy and proud that he made it. However, when I asked him to try it again he said no and we went to another place.

Conclusion

In the end, I think it is the mindset of people. Whenever we force ourselves to do an activity, we will do it after experiencing it once. This thing needs encouragement from other people to achieve something extraordinary in life.

Describe a time when you encourage someone to do something model answer 2

Introduction

It is very difficult to encourage people to do what they don’t like to do. Especially when you want to encourage a great polemical. I have been encouraged by a lot of people in life, but I have encouraged many people too.

Who he or she is?

Here I am going to describe a time when I encouraged my friend Lakshya to participate in a singing competition, and I was successful in convincing him after a great argument.

What do you encourage him/her to do?

Actually, four years ago, I had a really good friend in my tenth grade. His name was Lakshya. He was a really good singer. Unfortunately, he had glossophobia. In fact, he couldn't sing a single line in front of the audience. And what happened? There was a singing competition at our academy. He refused to give his name because he was afraid to sing in front of a crowd.

How did he/she react? And explain why you encouraged him/her?

I know he's on stage with someone's emotional support. So I thought I'd encourage him. But he's not ready. I told him that if he'd continue to be on the stage, nothing bad would happen, and he would be appreciated by everyone. And I told him that he is a very good singer and nobody can beat him. I continued to support him, and after my long efforts, he gained confidence and was ready to compete.

Conclusion

I was surprised after seeing him in the competition. He really sang well in the phase that won him the first prize. All his fears were gone forever. Every time he met me, he thanked me for my encouragement. Then I encourage someone to do something they don't want to do.

Describe a time when you encourage someone to do something model answer 3

Introduction

Well, I have encouraged many people in my life, and I am encouraged by many people also when I am in a bad situation. But, today, I would like to share about a time when I encouraged my friend Hardip to practice Mathematics and Physics problems by writing them and revising them twice a month.

Who he or she is?

Hardip has been my classmate since 10th, and we have sat on the same bench since then. He is very good at Chemistry and English and I am good at Physics and Math.

What do you encourage him/her to do?

He was very good at his studies, but whenever he practiced Math, he just saw the method of solving the problem earlier rather than solving it himself. By this method, his scores in Math and Physics were decreasing on a regular pattern. I suggested he do sums on his own to remember the method of solving a problem.

How did he/she react? And explain why you encouraged him/her?

He first refused me, but when his first-semester result came, he asked me to show him how to practice the sums on his own. Then I taught this method of practicing sums. After that, his marks improved significantly, and he got back on track and scored excellent grades in the final semester. The main reason behind encouraging him to do this method was his determination to study from an early standard which I have seen. I want him to succeed in life as he is one of my best friends.

Conclusion

In the end, after this encouragement from me, we both secured good grades in exams and were able to get admitted to the same college and study together.

Describe a time when you encourage someone to do something model answer 4

Introduction

Encouragement is something that a person needs the most when he is underperforming in his life and wants to achieve great heights in life. I have encouraged many people, but today I will tell you about my encouragement of my friend.

Who he or she is?

I want to tell you about a conversation I had with my friend Parth. He's my best friend, and we've known each other since we were kids. We still live next door. As a result, we stick together in our bushes and stuff.

What do you encourage him/her to do?

He's also knowledgeable about computers and other languages. He also has a bachelor's degree in computer engineering. Else, he is jobless. As a result, he became discouraged. His turndown to leave his home country was the main reason for his severance. We live in a small city not known for the power of computers. As a result, I induced him to step out of his comfort zone and work with an IT company. Luckily I have a good friend in Bangalore, and I called him to arrange accommodation for my stylish friend. I helped him produce a LinkedIn profile.

How did he/she react? And explain why you encouraged him/her?

He is very excited and inspired to complete the task. He said, "I absolutely adore you." Since he was my best friend, I encouraged him. After all, we live together as brothers. A true friend will never have pessimistic feelings towards his loved ones. He will think good about another person as he knows that he will get help from the same person in trouble.

Conclusion

I did the same to inspire you to become a qualified computer engineer. I'm sure if I were in his place, he would boost my confidence too. And help me to overcome the problem and do well in life.

IELTS speaking part 3 - Describe a time when you encourage someone to do something follow-up questions

There are follow-up questions to “Describe a time when you encourage someone to do something.” This session will last for 5-6 minutes, and the examiner will ask you counter-questions related to the cue card given that day to you.

1.When should parents encourage their children?
Answer- Whenever a child feels lonely or has scored low grades in exams, I think parents should encourage their child and make them know their abilities so that they can do better in life. It will help children overcome whatever happened to them and live life happily.

2.Have you observed that a few humans are higher at inducing others?
Answer- Yes, definitely. I think the skill of encouraging people is not there for every person. It's a great skill in itself that one person who is going through a problem or stress and is usually underperforming in life is encouraged by another person. Most people have this trait by birth, while some acquire it through experiencing life problems.

3.What sort of encouragement should mother and father give?
Answer- Whenever a child is encouraged by parents, they should feel free to receive advice from parents. Meanwhile, parents must give examples of their life, how they used to solve any problem in their early stage of life as the child mostly follows the footsteps of their parents only to live in the world.

4.How should leaders inspire their employees?
Answer- There are many ways leaders and managers use to encourage their employees, like incentives, appreciation, etc. I believe everyone is wired differently. So what works for some people may not work for others.

5.Who encourages the most friends or their own circle of relatives in our terrible times?
Answer- Well, I think both family members and friends encourage us in our bad times. It mainly depends on the circle of a person. If a person is having a good circle of friends then he will definitely get encouragement from friends and if the circle is not good then the person won't get encouraged. Talking about parents and family, they support their child in every situation he is facing in his life and take him out of the situation.
