Undergraduate Academic Requirements

• UG programs (Natural Resources/ Business / Hospitality / Media Arts/ General Arts and Science/ Community Services) - require 50% Overall aggregate of core subjects in garde12.
  • Aviation / Engineering/Skill trades – Requirement is 50% Overall aggregate of core subjects in garde12 or 3-year Diploma overall with aggregate 50% minimum and Math 50%. (Exception - Computer programming / Welding Techniques that do not require Math).
• Environmental Technician: No Maths required in 12th grade. 12th PCB students can apply in this program with overall 55% and 6 bands in each section.
• Health Science programs- require 50% Overall aggregate of core subjects in garde12 with exception for below mentioned programs.
• Practical Nursing / Pharmacy Technician /Medical Laboratory Assistant – 50% Overall aggregate of core subjects in garde12 – Chemistry, Math & Biology at 50% each
• BSc Nursing - 60% Overall aggregate of core subjects in garde12 – Chemistry, Math & Biology at 60% each
• Dental Hygiene - 60% Overall aggregate of core subjects in garde12 – Chemistry & Biology at 60% each.
• Dental Assisting - 50% Overall aggregate of core subjects in garde12 – Chemistry & Biology at 50% each.

Post Graduate Academic Requirements

PG Programs - Require 55% Overall aggregate in last academic degree with no more than 10 backlogs including reappears.

• Industrial Manufacturing Processes / Engineering Business and Safety Management - Require 60% Overall aggregate in last academic degree with no more than 10 backlogs including reappears.

Post Graduate Program academic degree backgrounds accepted for below

• Digital Marketing and Marketing Analytics - Any degree background with at least 2 subjects of Marketing or else at least 2+ years of work experience in Marketing / Sales / Digital Marketing. (We also accept Mass Media, Visual Communication & Journalism degree backgrounds).
• Embedded Systems – Degree in Electronic, Electrical, Instrumentation, Computer/ IT.
• Engineering Business and Safety Management – Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Chemical, Petroleum & Mechatronics. (Automobile degree is not accepted)
• Health Administration & Leadership – Degree in MBBS, Dental, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Optometry, Anaesthetic, Perfusion, Healthcare Management or any Medical, Social Work and Healthcare related field. (Exception veterinary background). --> No Science degree background is accepted (General BSc, Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology & Biotechnology or any other science related field)
• Health Informatics – Degree in MBBS, Dental, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Optometry, Anaesthetic, Perfusion, Biotechnology, Healthcare Management or any Medical and Healthcare related field, Business, IT. (Exception veterinary background). --> No Science degree background is accepted (General BSc, Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Zoology, Biochemistry,
  Microbiology or any other science related field).
• Human Resource Management – Degree in Humanities, Arts, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, English Literature or any other degree stream with relative experience in Human Resource for at least 2 years.
• Industrial Manufacturing Processes – Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical & Aerospace. (Automobile degree is not accepted).
• Information Communication Technology (ICT) Solutions for Business – Degree in Computer/ IT or Electronic degree with at least 2 years of work experience in software. --> We will also consider student with any other degree stream with at least 4+ years of work experience in software but the profile will have to be sent in advance for pre-assessment as this will be approved on a case-by-case basis as of now.
• International Business Management – Degree in any stream.

Note: 3- or 4-Year degree will be accepted for the above-mentioned PG program.
• Kindly submit resume / CV in case of work experience and must mention Job designation, duration of work experience in respective organizations with Job roles and responsibilities.
• We would require backlog certificate for degree applicants and we do accept Open Schooling, NIOS, Distance Learning & Vocational degree and grade 12.

• Offer Letter processing time is 10 to 12 days.
• 1St Semester or yearly tuition fees must be paid before deadline mentioned in college offer letter. Wire Transfer Detail is clearly mentioned in college offer letter.
• 10 Regional campuses, but only Thunder Bay is for International Students 7,600 plus students are studying (includes Full time and Part time).
• Batch size is very small, generally 20-25, for Individual personal attention.
• As per new SDS rule applicant has to pay 1st year tuition fees as mention in the College offer letter.     
• Fresher with good academics (60 % and above) will have good chance to get admit + Visa.
• The last academic qualification (Degree) completed in 2014 or later will be accepted with relative Experience during the period and (Diploma or Grade 12) completed in 2016 or later will be accepted.
• For Diploma and Advanced Diploma programs 9 Backlogs accepted for students from Diploma and 8 backlogs from Degree background & for Post-graduate programs max. 8 backlogs accepted. (max. 6 backlogs only for Engg. Students).
• Minimum 50 % and above (higher second class) is must, however priority will be given to 50 % And above marks students  Core subject grads should be minimum 55% and above including Math.
• College will accept applications from all Open Schooling academic backgrounds (including NIOS).

Important Note:

• Deferrals: Students who pay fees for January and do not file a visa application will NOT be permitted to defer to Next intake, Students who had a Visa-Refusal or a long delay in Visa processing will be offered a deferral ONLY ONCE for the next consecutive intake

Academic Gap:

• Degree / Diploma applicants: Graduated in 2021 or later will be accepted.
• Grade 12th applicants: Completed grade 12 in 2021 or later will be accepted.
• No offers - We do not accept applications from India for General Arts & Science programs for Jan intake.

Conditional offer letters: Conditional offer letter for UG all programs and PG specific programs Sept'23 Intake.

UG Programs :-  Conditional offer letter will be issued based on pending academics . This means for any  UG (Diploma / Advanced Diploma) students with grade 12 results pending or final semester of Diploma or degree pending can apply. It is mandatory that the English proficiency requirement of  IELTS must be completed. The student  will still have to make fee payment within one month deadline mentioned in the offer letter.

PG programs :-  Conditional offer letter for PG program will be based on  pending academic. This is applicable as long as the students academics, up to their last semester, meet our admission requirements, already have their IELTS and they  will still have to make fee payment within one month of receiving the offer.

This conditional offer letter on academics for PG applicants will  be applicable only for below mentioned programs.

Post Graduate Programs:

1. Industrial Manufacturing Processes (2 years)
2. Embedded Systems (2 years)
3. Information Communication Technology (ICT) Solution for Business (2 years)

• The tuition fee deadline will be for 15 days from the date of offer letter issued. Since the deadline period is short we would suggest you to have applicants to apply on priority.
• We would suggest that the student will have to pay in advance to the deadline date and not pay the fees on the deadline date as it will be difficult for us to analyze the seats at the college if the payment is received well after the deadline date.

• Many of you have inquired about the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) program and the opportunities it presents for graduating students. The documents below should help.
• We have outlined the process for qualifying graduates to apply.
• We have also identified Confederation College programs that prepare students for employment in selected occupations on the skill shortage list for Thunder Bay.
• While the RNIP presents an excellent opportunity for our students, it is worth remembering that the Express Entry and the Provincial Nominee immigration programs also present pathways to permanent residence for many of our graduates. We are thrilled that our graduates have so many options to consider.
