• Fresher with good academics (Close to 60 % and above) will have good chance to get admit + Visa.
• Gap in studies cannot be more than 1 years for UG and not more than 4 years for Graduates (do not submit fake experience certificate).
• Backlogs in core subjects and number of backlogs in same subject are being viewed with attention. Maximum number of 8 backlogs will be accepted. (For 12 + 4 max. 8 backlogs & for 12+3 max. 4 backlogs accepted).
• Durham College requires a minimum of 50% overall academic performance for most programs.
• Minimum 55 % and above (higher second class) is must, however priority will be given to 60 % and above marks students.
• In case of more than 8 backlogs - there should be 60 % in last 2 semester and no backlogs
• Core subject grads should be minimum 60 % and above including Math & English
• LOA can be received in 4 to 6 Working days if complete application has been sent.
• Notarized documents are required with signed application form to lodge application.
• Tuition fees must be paid before deadline mention in college offer letter. As per new SPP rules applicant has to pay first semester tuition fees.
    *For Medical students, marks in Biology, Physics & Chemistry should be close to 60 % or above.
    *For Non-Medical students, marks in Math, Physics & Chemistry should be close to 60 % or above.
    *For Commerce students, marks in Accounting, Statistics, Business & Economics should be close to 60 % or above.

Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) Process.

Durham College PAL Eligibility Process: Durham College has developed a process for students to check their eligibility and request a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL).

STEP 1: All paid students will receive an e-mail with the link to our PAL eligibility form (The e-mail will be sent to their e-mail account on record)
STEP 2: Students will be required to check their personal data. It is very important that the information entered is accurate. The details on the screen cannot be edited, in case of any discrepancy email to [email protected]
STEP 3: Fill the form: 
Scenario 1: If student indicates yes, they have a valid study permit: They do not need a PAL and must upload their current study permit.
Scenario 2: If the student indicates no, they do not have a valid study permit but have applied for one before Jan 21st,2024: They do not need a PAL and must upload proof of their application.

If a PAL is not required, students will get the following message:

Scenario 3: If student indicates they have not applied before Jan 21st, 2024, and do not have a valid study permit: You need a PAL. Durham College will request a PAL for you. This will be uploaded on student portal in approximately 5-6 working days.

Students will get the following message from the college.

• Based on your answers, DC will request a PAL for you.
• Once we have received your PAL from the government, it will be uploaded to your International Self-Service Portal and you will receive an email notifying you that it is available. This email will contain further instructions for your next steps to view, save or print your PAL and a link to apply for your Canadian Study Permit through our partner BorderPass.

BorderPass provides a secure online platform for study permit application preparation, review, and filing services through expert Canadian immigration lawyers. Also, once you are enrolled at DC you will receive access to BorderPass for the length of time you are at the College, plus an additional 16 weeks of coverage to assist you through to employment. This includes continuous monitoring of visas and immigration documents, access to Canadian immigration lawyers for any questions, ongoing Express Entry score tracking and pathway guidance, and preferred rates on follow-on visa services such as study permit extensions, co-op permits, work permits, spousal permits, and family support.

Academic Gap Acceptance Remarks: UG Programs are accepted for 2 to 3 Years, and PG Programs are accepted for Management & IT 7 to 8, Fast Track—5 years, and Pharmaceutical Science—5 years.

English Language Test Accepted Remarks: Duolingo is accepted only for Advanced Diploma, & Diploma programs.
