What is EOR in IELTS?

The Remarking Process in IELTS is referred to as “Enquiry on Results” (EOR). Your IELTS performance is evaluated by another examiner in the UK or Australia (i.e. not in your local IELTS Test Centre) to remark. Your new examiner will not be told about your original IELTS test scores. After the process is done, a new scorecard will be given. EOR can be raised for both IELTS Academic and General.

• EOR is normally an enquiry form that students are asked to fill out and send to test centres where they took the IELTS exam for review of their results.
• To submit the EOR form, students have to pay a service fee, which is non-refundable on the terms and conditions.
• EORs submission should be within six weeks from the date of the test being taken.
• The whole fee will be refunded if the scores are changed (increased).
• If the application deadline falls on Saturday, Sunday or any public holiday, students must submit their form on the preceding day of the week (which is Friday before 9 AM).
•  You cannot use your original IELTS scores for university or immigration purposes during this remarking process.

Students can raise EOR for one section or all of the sections (Reading, listening, writing & Speaking). Irrespective of the number of sections chosen, the EOR fee remains the same. 

Key points to know before requesting an Enquiry of Results (EOR)

• Students can raise the EOR only once. 
• You can apply for the EOR form online. Physical (offline) applications are no longer accepted as per the latest update.
• You should fill all the sections in the form and attach proof of payment of your service fee to submit the EOR form successfully.
• The service fee to raise an EOR is decided by the Test partners conducting the IELTS exam.
• A new senior examiner to re-mark or reevaluate is appointed by the British Council or IDP and will not be informed about the initial IELTS scores.
• Your new informed score (changed or unchanged) will be available within a time frame of 2 to 21 days of your EOR submission.
• If your test results are changed after the EOR process, you should return your old Test Report Form (TRF) i.e. your old score certificate. After returning the old one, a new Test Report Form with the changed score will be issued.
• If you are not satisfied with your EOR mark, you can opt for an appeals process which will be taken care of by your test centre.

The service fee to submit the Enquiry on Results (EOR) form is usually between US $90 and US $150. In Indian rupees, it is between INR 7,402 to INR 12,337. (1 US$=82.25 Indian Rupee). The administrative charges for the EOR application are as follows, inclusive of all the taxes:

• IELTS: Rs.12,200/-
• CD IELTS: Rs.12,200/-
• UKVI IELTS: Rs.12,375/-
• IELTS Life Skills: Rs.11,525/-

Steps to Fill out an Enquiry of Results Form

The procedure to be followed is

• You can submit your EOR application online by visiting your candidate login section.
• Once you are logged in, refer to the tab “EOR” and click ‘Apply Now’ to fill out the online EOR application form.
• Follow the instructions given there and fill in all the sections in the form without leaving any empty spaces.  Because an incomplete EOR form will not be considered for re-mark. 
• The information mostly asked for are, your name and exam number, your test centre name and number, your address, Type of exam you have taken (paper or computer), Specific test or whole exam you want to raise a remark on (listening, reading, writing and speaking) and at last your signature and date.

How to Check IELTS Re-evaluation Results?

To check the re-evaluation results, you should sign in to the test taker portal at IDP. The results will be digitally available for 28 days. For those who appeared for the paper-based IELTS test, results may be displayed after 13 days, while for the computer-based IELTS results may be available online within 3-4 days.

Aspirants may also get their re-evaluated results sent to provided address using their ID/Passport number. But the address must match the one given at registration. The new result report will be delivered to their respective residences. IELTS rechecking (EORs) will let you choose test parts for remarking. You can apply within one and a half months after the test date.
