IELTS speaking part 3 - Describe a course that you want to learn - Follow up questions

The following are the follow-up questions for the topic “Describe a course that you want to learn”. The IELTS speaking part 3 - follow-up question session is conducted for 4-5 minutes and it will be based on your given answer in the IELTS speaking part 2.

Question 1: What’s the most popular thing to learn nowadays?
Answer: The most popular subject to learn today depends on a number of variables, including a person's personal interests, professional objectives, and cultural trends. Foreign languages, online marketing, digital skills like coding and data analysis, and personal development are some of the most well-liked subjects to learn. Due to their potential to open up new career opportunities and opportunities for personal development in the increasingly connected and digital world, these topics are in high demand.

Question 2: What influences young people more when choosing a course, income, or interest?
Answer: Young people are more likely to be influenced by their interests than by their potential earnings when choosing a course of study. While money matters, many young people place more importance on pursuing a career that fits with their passions and values. They frequently show more interest in pursuing programs that allow for their personal development and fulfillment. Furthermore, young people are aware that the job market is dynamic and that their interests and skills may change over time, so it is more crucial for them to concentrate on a course that they are passionate about than one that guarantees financial stability.

Question 3: Do young people take their parents’ advice when choosing a major?
Answer: When selecting a major, young people frequently ask their parents for advice, but the choice is ultimately up to them. Young people are becoming more independent and making their own decisions based on their interests, passions, and career goals. Parents can offer guidance based on their own experiences and insights. The world is changing quickly, and the job market is always changing. While parental advice may be helpful, it is crucial to understand that young people must make their own informed decisions based on their unique needs and circumstances.

Question 4: At what age should children start making their own decisions? Why?
Answer: Depending on their level of maturity, level of cognitive development, and cultural background, children should start making decisions for themselves at a variety of ages. In general, children should be given the freedom to make simple decisions about their daily lives as early as possible, such as what to wear and what activities to participate in. They should be given more autonomy and responsibility in decision-making as they get older, gain more experience, and come to understand the effects of their actions. The ultimate objective is to support kids in becoming independent, assured adults who can make choices that are consistent with their values and objectives.

Question 5: Why do some people prefer to study alone?
Answer: Because it enables them to work at their own pace and concentrate without outside distractions, some people prefer to study alone. They can regulate their surroundings while studying alone, including the temperature, lighting, and noise level, to enhance their learning. A person can identify their strengths and weaknesses and gain a deeper understanding of the subject matter by taking the time to reflect on their studies while working alone. Additionally, for those who are more introverted, studying alone can be less overwhelming and better suited to their learning style.

Question 6: What kinds of courses are useful for university students?
Answer: Regardless of their major, university students can benefit from a number of courses. First, courses in oral and written communication are crucial for success in both academic and professional contexts. Additionally, students can improve their analytical abilities and use them in real-world situations by taking courses in critical thinking, problem-solving, and research methodologies. In today's job market, courses in digital skills like coding and data analysis are also taking on more significance. Last but not least, taking personal development classes can help students improve their effectiveness and confidence in both their personal and professional lives.

Question 7: What kinds of school activities are beneficial for students?
Answer: Children benefit greatly from school activities in addition to academic learning. Children can learn a variety of skills through extracurricular activities like sports, clubs, and music lessons, including teamwork, leadership, and time management. Additionally, these activities can promote friendships and social ties, which are critical for kids' emotional and social growth. Children can explore their interests and passions through school activities, which can increase their engagement and motivation in their academic studies.
