Model answer 1 - Describe a difficult task that you completed at work/study that you felt proud of
Introduction:
As the president of the Apartment Owners Association (AOA) in my building, I encountered numerous challenges. However, one particular task that stood out was the collection of funds from the residents. In this passage, I will share my experience in dealing with this demanding responsibility.
What was the task?
The task involved collecting a specific amount from each resident for the maintenance of the society and the well-being of the residents. It was crucial to maintain accurate records of the income and expenses associated with these funds, ensuring that they were utilized for the overall welfare of the residents.
How did you complete it?
To address this task, I devised a comprehensive plan that outlined the necessary steps. I formed a team comprising members of the association and assigned each person specific blocks within the apartment complex. Additionally, we utilized a specially designed app for our apartment's purposes, which allowed us to update each other on daily issues, inform residents about any concerns, and track the monthly contributions made by each individual.
Why the task was difficult?
The task was challenging because it involved collecting contributions from all the residents in the apartment and ensuring that everyone benefited from the welfare activities. With over 1000 residences, organizing the program and carrying out welfare activities was a tough job.
Why you were proud of the completion of the task?
I felt a sense of pride when the celebration was successful because it was a difficult task to organize various programs, make agreements, invite guests, and arrange food for the event. For example, last year during Ganesh Chaturthi, I organized a celebration in our apartment. I arranged a fancy dress competition for kids, interesting games for adults, and musical chair games for elders. I also made sure there was enough food for everyone. The program went smoothly, and everyone enjoyed it. The other residents congratulated me for my work, which made me proud.
Conclusion:
To sum up, this event has provided me with valuable lessons in the importance of working together, effective time and money management, and has instilled in me the self-assurance to tackle even greater obstacles in the times ahead.
Model answer 2 - Describe a difficult task that you completed at work/study that you felt proud of
Introduction:
I find life meaningless and dull without challenges. Accomplishing a difficult task brings a sense of satisfaction that I believe is one of the greatest feelings in the world. In this discussion, I will talk about a task that I never believed I could accomplish, which was submitting a project during my higher education.
What was the task?
A few years ago, I pursued a Phd in Economics. During my final year, I had to submit a project related to Economics. I chose the topic of Cashless economy: The impact of demonetization on small and medium businesses. For this topic, I had to include samples, people's opinions on demonetization, and the challenges they faced.
How did you complete it?
To complete this task, I first made plans for my work, such as creating schedules and taking notes. I decided to gather information from websites like Google and research papers related to the topic. Additionally, I collected data by directly interacting with people at their homes. I also received assistance from senior students, staff, and my advisor.
Why the task was difficult?
The task was difficult because gathering data directly from people was challenging. Some individuals would provide the information, while others would reject our application. This meant that we had to approach multiple people in order to collect the required data. Despite being given a target of collecting data from 60+ individuals, I ended up meeting with over 90+ small business owners. This made the task particularly challenging for me.
Why you were proud of the completion of the task?
I felt a sense of pride upon completing the project because I was able to finish it a week before the given deadline, despite the challenges it presented. This accomplishment made me proud of the hard work I had put into the task. It was a surreal moment that reinforced my belief in the power of hard work and its ability to make anything possible.
Conclusion:
Upon completing the project, I felt a great sense of pride in the outcome I had achieved. As a result, my project was selected to be published on our college website as a sample for future students. This experience taught me the importance of perseverance and effective time management, which greatly contributed to my personal and academic growth.
Model answer 3 - Describe a difficult task that you completed at work/study that you felt proud of
Introduction:
Throughout the various stages of life, individuals are often confronted with numerous challenging tasks. Personally, I have also encountered several difficult tasks thus far. Among them, I would like to discuss a particularly challenging task I faced during my time in school.
What was the task?
I vividly recall the day when this occurred. It was during my sixth grade at VVMHS school, my hometown institution. During that time, I participated in an essay writing competition centered around Indian culture. The task required me to cover six different aspects of Indian culture within a strict time limit of 30 minutes, without repeating any points. Additionally, each culture essay had to be at least half a page in length.
How did you complete it?
Given three days to prepare for the competition, I devised a plan to achieve my short-term goals for each day. On the first day, I gathered information from various websites. The second day involved extracting information from textbooks and articles. Finally, on the third day, I focused on memorizing the most important points. This strategic approach greatly aided in the successful completion of my task.
Why the task was difficult?
I found the task to be difficult because, at my age, I believed that three days was not enough time to adequately prepare for writing an essay. Additionally, gathering information and memorizing the necessary points proved to be a daunting task. The requirement for unique cultural points further added to the challenge, as it took me over three to four hours to gather information about a specific culture.
Why you were proud of the completion of the task?
Upon completing the task, I felt a sense of pride. As an 11-year-old girl, I viewed the task as particularly challenging, and successfully finishing it filled me with immense happiness and pride. It was my first experience with essay writing, and initially, I was apprehensive about my ability to complete the task. However, once I accomplished it, I was overjoyed.
Conclusion:
To top it all off, when the results were announced, I discovered that I had won first place. This was an incredibly memorable moment for me and further bolstered my sense of pride. It reinforced my belief that anything is possible if I put in the hard work and effort.
Model answer 4 - Describe a difficult task that you completed at work/study that you felt proud of
Introduction:
Throughout my academic journey, I have encountered numerous tasks that have challenged me and motivated me to strive for excellence. I would like to discuss a particularly difficult task I faced during my time in school.
What was the task?
I distinctly remember the day when this happened. It was during my 9th grade at school. At that time, I participated in a competition called "Tallent" which was held in honor of science day. There were more than 5 competitions on that day, including creating useful things from scratch, a quiz, identifying chemical compounds, conducting physics experiments, and biology-related tasks. I chose to participate in the quiz competition, where they could ask questions on any science topic, including biology, zoology, physics, and chemistry.
How did you complete it?
Since they had specified that the questions would be based on certain books, I began preparing for the competition by thoroughly reading each science book from my grade. Additionally, I sought assistance from my science teacher, Miss Rihana. In the last two days leading up to the competition, she created her own set of questions as a mock quiz to practice.
Why the task was difficult?
The competition was announced just a week before the actual event, and they provided specific guidelines for the quiz program. The questions would be based on textbooks from grades 6-12, and participants had to answer promptly. Additionally, they emphasized that giving a wrong answer would result in a negative marking. This posed a difficulty for me as it seemed nearly impossible to read all the books from grades 6-12 in just one week.
Why were you proud of the completion of the task?
Finishing this task filled me with pride. It wasn’t just about taking part in the competition, I saw it as an opportunity to gain knowledge. Additionally, the satisfaction of achieving something after putting in hard work is invaluable to me. As an icing on the cake, the result made me more proud at that moment.
Conclusion:
Overall, it not only boosted my confidence, but also showed me that I can participate in any competition, even if I don’t have time to prepare. Also it made me believe in myself that everything can be possible if I work hard.
