Introduction:
   A festival is an extraordinary event celebrated by a community and centering on some characteristic aspect or aspects of the  community and its religion or cultures. Here I am going to talk about the festivals that are important in your country.  

when the festival is celebrated?
     Diwali is celebrated during the HinduLUnisolar months of Ashvin and Kartika. It is the Hindu festival of lights with its variations also celebrated in other Indian religions. It symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.

What do people do during this festival?
   During diwali, people wear their finest clothes, decorate the interior and exterior of their homes with saaki (earthen lamp), diyas and rangoli, perform worship ceremonies of lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity and wealth, light fireworks and partake in family feasts.

What do you like or dislike about it? 
   The thing I like during diwali is wearing the new clothes, preparing sweets and sharing it with our neighbors. The dislikes are,  diwali is the time to hear those ear-splitting crackers being burst outside. First diwali, the festival of lights is now converted into a festival of pollution.

Explain why this festival is important in your country?
    It is the festival which commemorates the victorious return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after saving his wife sita from the demon king Ravana. To celebrate his victory people celebrate this day as diwali through their ancestors.

  On the day of the diwali festival people believe that it is the celebration which eliminates all our darkness and lights up the whole life.

• Every festival is celebrated together by the people of various faiths and beliefs. 
• Here I am going to talk about the festival which is celebrated together for more than 9 days.

• Navaratri is an annual Hindu festival observed in the honor of Goddess Durga also referred to as Adi Parashakti.
• It spans over nine nights.
• It is observed for different reasons and celebrated differently in various parts of the HIndu INdian cultural sphere.

What do people do during this festival?

• As it mentioned above, this festival is celebrated in different ways throughout India.
• Certain people revere different aspects of Durga and some people fast while others feast.

  What do you like or dislike about it?

• The thing I like about this festival is it helps to purify the mind and body, and allows the devoted to focus on their prayers and worship.
• And  dislikes are there are so many restrictions to be followed during these festivals.

• “Goddess Durga” is worshiped to celebrate the day of her victory over Mahishasura,  and the ultimate victory of “Good overEvil.”

 Here I am going to talk about one of  the festivals which is celebrated all over the world based on their religious beliefs.

    Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed primarily on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world.

What do people do during this festival?
    People celebrate Christmas in many different ways all over the world.  In some christian minorities or foreign cultural influence have led the population to observe the holiday, countries such as japan, where christmas were celebrated  by giving gifts, decorations and christmas trees.   
What do you like or dislike about it? 
 Without a doubt, the best part about Christmas time is the overwhelming joyful feeling that comes with hanging decorations and putting up the tre. The dislike part  of Christmas is stress gift shopping to the pressure to love the festival season.

Explain why this festival is important in your country?
   Christmas is celebrated to remember the birth of Jesus Chirst who christians believe is the son of God. It is one of the most sacred days in christianity and is spent singing carols, eating delicious food.

   Christmas serves as a great reminder of why we come together as friends and family. It is the time which brings joy, love and peace to all who experience it.

• Festivals are celebrated to bring freshness to life and remove boredom, promote national integration and unity and remind us of cultural values.
• Here I am going to share about the festival which is celebrated all over India in which we say we are thankful to nature and god.

• Pongal is a harvest festival celebrated by the Tamil community.
• It is celebrated over four days and marks the beginning of the Tamil month called  Thai, which is considered an auspicious month.
• The festival is celebrated in mid-january every year and is one of the most popular harvest festivals of South India.

What do people do during this festival?

• It is dedicated to the sun god Suryaian, and corresponds to Makar Sankranti.
• The harvest festival under many regional names is celebrated throughout India. 
• The three days of the pongal festival are called Bhogi pongal, Surya pongal, and Mattu pongal. Some Tamils celebrate a fourth day of pongal known as Kaanum pongal.

What do you like or dislike about it?

• I would like to celebrate festivals, especially pongal, which is the festival we celebrated as very important, that my grandparents and father are farmers. We celebrate it for 3 days. 
• The major thing that i like to do is decorating my home, cows and their horns.
• At the end of the day my cousins and I will go for a ride in a bullock cart around the village.

• The principal theme of Pongal is thanking the Sun god, the forces of nature, and the farm animals and people who support agriculture.

   I think the main difference between festivals now and in the past is the way of celebration. Earlier people celebrated festivals with reverence, but now people have forgotten the meaning behind the festivals and they started to celebrate to enjoy the moment.

6. Do you think western festivals like Christmas are replacing traditional festivals in your country?
   Yes, nowadays children are influenced by western movies and hollywood  films. They start celebrating western festivals like Halloween and Christmas by decorating trees and asking gifts from their parents on christmas.

7. Do you think it is wrong for children not to celebrate traditional festivals?
      According to children, festivals are only about having fun, having feats and enjoyment and it does not matter which festival they are celebrating as long as they are enjoying themselves.

8. What kind of special food/drink can you get at festivals?

  As I am living in south India, we prepare Different foods for different festivals. If it is Diwali we prepare sweets and savories, in pongal we prepare food items like sweet pongal, Rice with gravy and we cook fresh vegetables.

9. Is it important for children to learn about traditional festivals at school?
Of course Yes, children must learn about traditional festivals in school because school is the place to teach them about historical events and the importance of the festival, so they will learn and celebrate.

10. Why do people hold events to celebrate?
People hold events to celebrate for various reasons like, To mark milestones in their lives or traditions in their culture, To foster a mindset of gratitude, To build a sense of community, To create memories and traditions, and To reflect on future possibilities

11. Do you think good food and drinks are important for celebrations?
 In my opinion, celebration is incomplete without food and drinks. Since after enjoyment, people require energy to be active, some were excited to celebrate the festival especially for the food they were preparing.
