Describe a film you watched Model answer 1

Introduction

Watching movies may teach us a lot of things. Strong characters in movies may push us to make significant modifications in our lives, and we can take inspiration from them. Movies might strengthen one's motivation to be hard and uncompromising when facing problems. Movies transport us to a time, place, or scenario we'd never encounter, allowing us to escape reality. Here I am willing to convey my experience regarding an animated movie.

When and where did you watch it?

When I was little, I recall seeing this movie. My mother, who is also an educator, was really busy studying for school examinations, so she went out and purchased a wide selection of animated movie DVDs for me to watch so that I would have something to do and be distracted from boredom and loneliness. The movie I am talking about here is named Tinker Bell.

What was the movie about?

In its most basic form, Tinker Bell is a fairy tale. Despite the fact that the film is broken up into many parts, its overarching themes remain consistent throughout discovery, perception, and creativity. The story had absolute entertainment and show initially, but then the twist turned up where Tinker Bell had to identify her talent and skills, accept it and be proud of it.

Why did you choose to watch it?

If I had to select one movie out of numerous, I went with this one because, when I was a child, I was fascinated by the idea of seeing a magical world that was either identical to or even more fantastic than my own imagination. The picture that appeared on the front cover of the CD was quite captivating. It was covered in glitter all over and the primary character was a fairy.

How did you feel about it?

As I talked about my choice of watching a fictional movie, I was enjoying the animations of fairies and their magic. On the other hand, the middle section made me feel a lot of different emotions because the main heroine had to overcome a lot of obstacles on her trip. I was brought painfully back to the memory of how awful it is to be ignored and mocked by others. The ending was my favourite part. In the end, the main character had become everyone’s favourite. She has so many friends and her enemies have apologised to her.

Conclusion

In conclusion, regardless of how many other movie options I have discovered over the years, I always come back to this one since it left such an indelible mark. In addition to being amusing, it made me aware of several important topics in life.

Describe a film you watched Model answer 2

Introduction

  • A good number of us look forward to seeing a movie on a regular basis since doing so enables us to relax, forget our worries, and have a good time.
  • You could feel a variety of emotions while watching a movie but without the potential drawbacks of doing so in real life.
  • I am stubborn when it comes to choices in movies, here I will be talking about a movie I had to watch as my brother wanted to.

When and where did you watch it?

  • It was a summer vacation going on and my brother was planning to watch an action-hero movie, which is completely something that I dislike.
  • But still, I sat with him in order to spend some quality time together. The movie started and I was not planning to give any attention to it, however, I was unable to get my eyes off the screen.
  • That was the first time I tried to get out of my comfort zone of choice and actually enjoyed something different.

What was the movie about?

  • The movie was named ‘Batman’, it was a marvel movie, which is quite a famous series all over the world.
  • During the course of the movie, Batman, a vigilante who has spent the last two years battling crime in a city called Gotham, uncovers corruption while following a serial murderer who preys on Gotham's upper class.
  • Editing and sets are done quite well, which is astounding.

Why did you choose to watch it?

  • Well, the only reason I saw the movie was to spend time with my brother.
  • He was in the tenth grade and I was pursuing my bachelor's, indicating that we both had hectic schedules and academic pressure.
  • Although we were eager to take a break, we were unable to carry out any of the plans. I had a tonne of work due, so I was unable to take my brother on a vacation.
  • We thus made the decision to see a film of his kind.

How did you feel about it?

  • Even though I try to avoid viewing action movies as much as possible, I still enjoyed seeing "Batman."
  • After that, I made it a point to watch every single Marvel movie. After watching a Marvel movie, I got the idea that I could accomplish anything, and this has made me feel more confident in myself.
  • My forays into the fanciful realm of heroic deeds have done nothing except inspire me to face my fears and get on with living my life to the fullest.

Conclusion

  • In the end, I will say that there is potential for great elements in Marvel flicks.
  • Nevertheless, their primary contribution is that they aid in reflecting community patterns, which is an important but often overlooked aspect of their work.
  • They also inspire thought on topics like diversity and discrimination, which are concerns that many individuals are forced to confront.

Describe a film you watched Model answer 3

Introduction

When done so voluntarily, several human emotions may be elicited through entertainment, including those that are beneficial to day-to-day living and those that are desirable, such as relaxation or excitement. In addition to the emotional and social satisfaction it provides, entertainment also has a number of other beneficial consequences on one's health, executive function, and overall wellness. Movies have always been a reliable means of providing entertainment. I would like to talk about a movie that I saw when I didn't feel like working and it was really good.

When and where did you watch it?

I enjoy learning about other ideologies through a variety of mediums, such as reading books, in particular biographies of well-known individuals. This time, I was given a book that I had not yet read. I was too worn out to look for and download an electronic book. As a result, I made the decision to look for an inspiring film.

What was the movie about?

The movie’s name was ‘The Intern’. A guy may work in any circumstance if he is willing to, according to the theme of the film. A 70-year-old widower took advantage of the chance to work as a senior intern at an online fashion website, according to the plot. His younger coworkers quickly take to him, including the manager and business founder. His charisma, sage advice, and sense of humour aid in his friendship with the boss's blossoming relationship.

Why did you choose to watch it?

After reading a number of summaries and reviews of other films, I decided to watch this particular production. Because I had a packed agenda, I wasn't in the mood to see a movie that wouldn't alter even the slightest thing about how I felt about the responsibilities I had to fulfil in the near future. Also, the movie had my favourite actress, Anne Hathway, who has been my idol throughout my journey.

How did you feel about it?

It was both encouraging as well as relaxing to watch this movie. In addition, seeing the film opened my eyes to the importance of seasoned expertise, which is often undervalued by younger generations. I was pretty blown away by the direction that was given to this fictitious movie, as it seemed to have strong connections to the world we live in today.

Conclusion

Sincere gratitude fills my heart at the discovery of this movie. In general, I try to avoid seeing the same movies more than once and instead focus on expanding my horizons; but, I felt compelled to store this one particular film on my computer so that I could watch it anytime I was feeling unmotivated.

IELTS speaking part 3 - Describe a film you watched

You can review the follow-up questions for “Describe a film you watched.” This discussion round will take about 4-5 minutes and you have to elaborate on your answers to the examiner.

1. Do different age groups like the same sort of films now?

Well, I have never witnessed a situation in which individuals of varying ages enjoyed watching the same film. In today's world, kids are more likely to watch movies centred on action heroes, whilst adults are more likely to watch movies about self-improvement or signature collecting.

2. What kinds of films do young people particularly like?

Films that focus on action and science fiction are more popular among young adults, whereas movies that focus on either genre are less appealing to extremely old people and very small children. At long last, we have arrived at the two genres—drama and romance—that improve with age.

3. What are other ways to watch movies now?

Due to rapid advancement in technology and entertainment, movies are not just available in theatres and on television. They can be seen on various entertainment websites. For instance, Netflix, which is a streaming service with a subscription model that enables users to view TV series and movies on a device with an internet connection. You may also download TV series and movies to your own device, depending on your contract.

4. Do you think that certain movies are not meant for each and every age group?

To answer your question, yes, I do believe that children should not be required to see every movie that is released. Children who are not yet capable of preserving their perception of limits may have a difficult time processing the messages sent in films with crime or horror as a central topic.

5. What do you think of violent films?

To begin, it is possible that movies that promote violence will have a negative impact on the behaviours of young people. If someone watches a lot of movies with a lot of violence, they could develop a more hostile personality. They also lose touch with reality and have no compassion for the people who have been hurt. The tension and anticipation that violence produces may be what draws people in. Another hypothesis is that individuals prefer activity rather than violence. Violence provides a fantastic opportunity to reflect on the purpose of life.

6. Do you think that the impact of movies on people is two-fold? Why?

Yes, I think that movies have an impact on us in both positive and negative ways. Superheroes, some of our favourite characters, give us advice on living. Instead of passively waiting for things to go our way, they provide us with the motivation and ideas to change everything for the better. They can bolster the economy, motivate people, and broaden our fundamental understanding of the world. Nevertheless, watching movies can instil aggression and harmful behaviours, increase greed, and convey negative messages to the general population. There are many dual consequences of movies on society.

7. In what ways are documentary films and non-documentary films thar are only for entertainment different?

Non-fiction movies include documentaries. While feature films attempt to amuse the audience, documentaries aim to educate, enlighten, and inspire the audience. Documentaries can examine social, political, and economic topics, or they might give a detailed account of a person, place, or item. While entertainment films are popular because they cater to all audiences. They are so much more than just passionate, dramatic, and humorous. You may be sure that you can pick a movie that will keep you interested from beginning to end, no matter how you're feeling.

8. How would you define a quality film?

The success of a film depends mostly on its writing, its performers, its direction, its mind-blowing spectacular effects, and, last but not least, its message.
