Introduction:
Library is a room or building which has collections of books, journals, magazines etc. here I am going to share about the library which I visited.
Where it was?
The Anna centenary library, is an established state library of Tamil Nadu Government. It is located in chennai, it was opened by the former chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M. karunanidhi.
What it looked like?
The library is designed to accommodate up to 1250 persons and the auditorium of 50,000 sq.ft with 1,280 seating capacity and an amphitheater on the terrace and two conference halls. Also they have allocated a big space for parking.
What facilities it had?
It has different sections like braille section, own book reading sections, children section, periodicals section, tamil book section and english book section. Braille section section has 1500 printed Braille books, 145 E-books and 1080 Audio Books, children’s sections has over 60,000 books which cover all subject, periodicals section has huge collection of newspapers, magazine and journals in different languages, tamil book section has over 100,000 books in the forms of Novels, Poems, Short stories, Drama, Essays, Humor, Letters. And the English books section has over 450,000 books. Also they have good canteen facilities too.
Why you went there?
I went there during my college days. My department HOD has arranged a seminar class. This seminar was conducted by the HOD of Economics department from Anna university. The seminar was held in the Anna centenary library's conference hall. After the seminar, we went to the library.
Explain your experience in this library.
Actually, we went to the library to see the ambiance, facilities and to have a glance at some books. But when we entered the library, we just admired the book collections because we have seen over 5000 books on a subject from different authors. We felt like we were flooded with the books.
Conclusion:
Anna centenary library is the second largest library in asia. I used my time in a useful way there by reading many books.

Introduction:
- A library is a place where many books and sources of information are stored.
- People felt easier to get access to the library for various purposes.
- Here I am going to share about the library which I visited.
Where it was?
- The connemara library is located at Egmore in chennai. It is a public library and it is one of the four National Depository libraries which has a copy of all books, newspapers and periodicals published in India.
What it looked like?
- The connemara public library is a semi-circle End oblong building.
- It is constructed in Indo-saracenic style.
- It was the first and oldest library in chennai.
What facilities it had?
- It has fantastic collections of books, journals, magazines and braille manuscripts among other texts.
- It has a lot of books ranging from topics IT, Economics, Sociology, Biology etc.
Why you went there?
- When I was doing my post graduation, during my final years I had to do projects related to my course.
- I took the topic related to the famous author Murthy.
- So I went to many libraries to search for his books.
Explain your experience in this library.
- I got many books related to my research.
- I saw many books from different authors. Once I completed my work, I started to explore many books. It was a nice and new experience for me.
Conclusion:
- Overall it was a calm and quiet place and we can see many students doing their self study.

Introduction:
A library is where a collection of books and other print or non-print materials are organized and maintained for use. Here I am going to share about the library which i visited.
Where it was?
Kalaignar centenary library was opened in madurai on 15th July 2023. It is the largest library in madurai. It was inaugurated by Chief Minister M.K.Stalin.
What it looked like?
This library has 6 floors including the basement and the ground floor. The library has a capacity to accommodate around 4.3 lakh books. The entrance of the building features a statue of Karunanidhi sitting with crossed legs, with his iconic black glasses. Behind the statue there is a recurring motif of the rising sun.
What facilities it had?
It has various sections, including book rentals, read your own books, and a children's section. It was designed with attractive paintings. Also they have one for competitive exams and rare titles and for disabled friendly features.
Why you went there?
During my vacation I went to my cousin’s home which is in madurai. There we planned to visit Kalaignar centenary Library as it was new to madurai we decided to go there just to see the atmosphere and infrastructure.
Explain your experience in this library.
It was a good experience, it offers a range of books and the wall arts and paintings were so impressive.
Conclusion:
The Kalaignar centenary Library in Madurai would be a temple of knowledge for the peoples in southern Tamil Nadu districts.
