The part 2 of IELTS speaking cue cards is said to be the cue card section, here the candidate will receive a cue card or a task card. The cue card prompt will have the topic in which the candidate has to talk about. You will be given 1 minute to prepare your notes and the examiner will ask you to talk for 1-2 minutes, over all this part lasts for 3-4 minutes. Model answer 1 - Describe a person who is good at making people feel welcome in his/her home
Introduction
When we are new to a place, the host should make us feel good and should give a warm welcome. One such person who made me feel good and welcoming is, one of my friend’s aunty from Bangalore. I had a chance to meet her, who has a warm personality and it instantly made me feel at home.
Who is this person?
I met that person during one of my friend’s weddings and her name is Mrs Riya. She is an entrepreneur and also a homemaker. We both had a good conversation and she invited me to her home for a weekend with my friend.
How do you know them?
As I mentioned above she is one of my friend’s aunts. My friend introduced me to her aunty. Even though she didn't know who I was, she spoke very well to me and made me feel comfortable. I was very inspired by her leadership skills and I always wanted to learn something from her.
How do they make you feel welcome?
I went to her home on the weekend. She welcomed me with a smiley face and she treated me as her daughter. I was blown away by her hospitality as she gave juice, coffee and food from time to time. At night, she checked on me, gave me blankets and made sure that I am comfortable.
How do you feel about this person?
I was extremely touched by her gesture. She didn't have to put this much effort into making me feel at home, but she did it by taking good care of me. I felt like my own home and did not miss my home.
Conclusion
Overall, the way she welcomed me and her warm personality made me feel at home even if it was in her home. Also I loved the way she took care of me.
Model answer 2 - Describe a person who is good at making people feel welcome in his/her home
Introduction
Here I am going to talk about a person who is good at making people feel welcome in his/her home. The first person who popped into my head was a generous, welcoming, kind hearted and helpful person.
Who is this person?
The person whom I was talking about is my grandfather. We call him “Daada”, who is an Ex- teacher in one of the famous schools in my city. He is still the same personality from the day I saw him.
How do you know them?
He is my grandfather, so I have known him since I was young. As he was staying along with us I grew up seeing him. I have never seen such a calm personality like him, because he never fails to greet or help others.
How do they make you feel welcome?
The way he welcomed me whenever I came back home from any place, he ensured that I was not hungry. If I was immediately he would make something to eat. Also everyday in the evening we both go for a walk and there I would be able to see his warm personality, how he treats others, how he spoke with others etc.
Explain how you feel about this person.
I have a lot of love and respect for my daada. He has taught me many things like the importance of being calm and welcoming and also he was a role model for me for how to be calm and have a good personality.
Conclusion
My grandfather has set an example for everyone in the family for the future and now I am following what he taught me. He always radiates warmth and kindness. He taught me compassion and the values of hospitality and relationship.

Introduction:
I have come across so many people who are good at making people feel welcome at home. Here I would like to share about a person who is close to my heart in a short period.
Who is this person?
The person whom I am going to talk about was my neighbor. His name is Mr. Ramkumar, who is an advocate in the High court of chennai. He was there for the past 5 years in our street and it takes just 10 minutes to reach his home.
How do you know them?
One day, by chance, I encountered him in the presence of my father. My dad introduced us, and I was deeply impressed by his manner of speaking. I found it very appealing. His greeting towards me was truly remarkable, and I was highly drawn to his style and demeanor during our initial encounter.
How do they make you feel welcome?
One fine day my father and I had a chance to go to his home, he warmly welcomed us and treated us with genuine care. He ensured that I was comfortable by being there. And he provided us with tasty food which was prepared by his wife.
Explain how you feel about this person.
First of all, what I like most about him is that he is a great listener, always listening to others with genuine interest. His body language is also very positive. He is always full of being, and he never gets wrinkles on his face while talking to others.
Conclusion
From Mr. Ramkumar, I have learned that treating others with good manners will make the opponent feel comfortable in your presence.

Introduction
Whenever I think of a person who is good at making people feel welcome in his/her home. One person who came first in my head is one of my colleagues.
Who is this person?
Here I am talking about one of my colleagues, Miss. Diya is from Delgi. Who had been working for the past 1 year in the same office where I was working. Even though we both share the same working environment, she is from another team.
How do you know them?
We randomly met in our cafeteria, to be honest our first meeting started with a misunderstanding. Even in that situation, I was the one who got angry but she handled that situation very calmly and politely. Later I came to know that she is also from my office, then as the days went by, we both got attached and we started having our food, coffee together and it became our regular habit.
How do they make you feel welcome?
One day she invited me to join for lunch at her home on the weekend. First I hesitated to go to her home, but she compelled me to come. Once I went to her home her entire family welcomed me with smiles on their faces. Also treated me as their own daughter.
Explain how you feel about this person.
I really admire her kindness and her hospitality. I really loved the way she treated me. Her home is more than just a physical space; it’s a reflection of her generous spirit and kindness.
Conclusion
The comfort and joy I experience at her home are a testament to her exceptional hospitality and the love she puts into every interaction. She has created countless warm memories for me.
