Introduction:
Poems are also called verses. The poem is defined as a piece of writing arranged in short lines. Here I am going to share about the poem work that I really like.

What it is?
  My mother at Sixty-Six is an emotional poem written by Kamala Das. She is an acclaimed Indian women writer in English. She publishes seven volumes of poetry and two novels. She has written exemplary pieces of literature both in English and Malayalam language.

When you first read it?
  I read this poem in one of my council’s English books. She is studying in 12th std in ABC matric school. One random day while she was reading this poem for her exam, at that time I read this poem.  
  
How you felt when you first read it?
 It is one of the best poems which I have read. The theme of the poem is ‘aging’ which is an eternal law of nature and the fear of separation from her mother. Also this poem is one of the finest examples of human bonding especially between the mother and daughter. 

Explain why you like it
  I like the way she used the words in the poem, especially the last two lines “but all I said was, see you soon amma, all I did was smile and simple and simple”. she hasn't used many complimentary rigorous words, all her poems are easy to understand for the beginner who was reading it. She has written this poem as a story.

Conclusion:
  The normal message of the poem “My Mother at Sixty-Six” is that relationships between people become stronger in every aspect of life but they can’t bear separation due to aging.

Introduction:

• A poem is a piece of writing that uses imaginative words to share ideas, emotions or a story with the reader.  
• Here I am going to share about the poem work that I really like.

What it is?

• The poem “Dream” by Langston Hughes is just two stanzas and eight lines long, the poem conveys a sense of urgency. It is a free verse poem, he wrote this poem sometime in 1922.
• Langston Hughes was an American poet, social activist, novelist, playwright and columnist from Joplin, Missouri.
• He has published more than thirty-five books, including works of poetry, short stories, novels and autobiography.

When you first read it?

• I read this poem in one of my neighbor’s English books. 
• Everyday she comes to my home to do group study with my sister. She is my sister’s school mate. At that time I read this poem.

How you felt when you first read it?

• The main concept of the poem “ Dream” is life without dreams is no longer worth living. 
• The speaker begins the poem by advising the reader to hold on to dreams and the message he provided in the poem was that dreams provide hope, purpose and vitality to life.

Explain why you like it

• I like the central metaphor that he used. He compares life without dreams as a broken-winged bird that cannot fly and to a barren field frozen. 

Conclusion:

• He concluded this poem by dreams help to give us lives purpose and meaning, and without them,life is harsh and difficult.

Introduction:
  A poem is described as an arrangement of words written or spoken traditionally a rhythmical, sometimes rhymed, expressing experiences, ideas or emotions.  Here I am going to share about the poem work that I really like.  

What it is?
   “Love and friendship”, by Emily Brote is a three-stanza poem that functions as a contrast piece between “love and friendship”. Emily Brote was an English novelist and poet. She has written almost 200 poems in her life but only a small fraction were published in her lifetime. 

When you first read it?
 I read this poem during my first day of 2nd year in English literature. When I was turning the pages randomly, I saw this poem and I got impressed with the topic of the poem so I started reading it. 
  
How you felt when you first read it?
While reading this poem, at first I couldn't understand the meaning of the lines. Later after much  research I started understanding the meaning of the poem. The best thing which I liked in the poem was the way she used the wild rose-briar and the holly tree as a metaphor in comparing both relationships. 

Explain why you like it
 I was impressed with the way he explained how “friendship is more important than love”. And I liked the moral of the poem, which is that love may come and go, but friendship will always be here to make an individual’s life worth living. 

Conclusion: 
  The poet had concluded this poem by saying love is a temporary feeling because love is conditioned but friendship is not.
