The IELTS speaking test consists of 3 sections. The given time limit for examination was 11-14 minutes. There are different time limits for each section.    This part 2 section of the IELTS speaking test, is where the candidate will be given a cue card, also known as a task card. Here the examiner will give a random(general) topic to the candidate to speak about for 2 minutes with full fluency. Introduction:

       Here I am going to talk about the practical skill I learned, Which I have learned during my childhood.

What was this skill?

     I personally love to create new things using waste things. Like I create some home decorative things using paper cups and straws. At one point when I was 10, I thought about increasing my skill by attending classes related to my skill.

When did you learn it?

  When I was doing my 5th standard, I started doing some home decorative things with useless products. Then my parents decided to put me in a class during my vacation. Once I completed my 5th standard I joined the class and increased my creative skill.

How did you learn it?

  During my vacation, I joined a craft making class near my home. The class started from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm. I learned so many craft works using newspapers, match sticks, used and broken glass bangles etc. 

And explain why you think it was important?

    I have much interest in doing craft work, also my parents encourage me to improve my skill. Also I thought about how to spend my vacation in a useful way.

Conclusion: 

   I learned this skill only because of my interest with my parents encouragement and support.

Introduction:

 There is no age limit to learn anything. It is all based on their interest, here I am going to talk about the skill which I learned with my full interest.

What was this skill?

  Practical skills are very much important and beneficial for human beings. The practical skill I learned is communication skill. I learned it when I passed my +2 standard. And now I’m planning to learn French to pursue my higher studies abroad.

When did you learn it?

 Once I completed +2 standard, before joining my college I decided to join spoken english class, to improve my communication skills. I decided to do my undergraduate degree in English literature.

How did you learn it?

  I showed all my interest in learning my skill. My teachers suggested that I join a class which is near to my school. Also I learned something related to this skill with the help of the internet. Like phonic class.

And explain why you think it was important?

  I had much interest in learning English. I heard, in real life, to get a job in a reputable company, communication is very important. With this class I learned my things in English communication.

Conclusion:

  I am fully satisfied with this skill as well as, I also do my own work at home with the help of this skill.

Introduction:

  To dance there is no age limit. I love to dance. Here I am going to talk about my dance class, when i learned and how i started it .

What was this skill?

   Few parents thought that one cannot make a career out of dance. But it’s not true, we can create  a bright career in each and every thing we learn with interest, as how I shined in my career with the help of my skill. There are many kinds of dance, in particular I learnt Bharatanatyam which is the classical dance of Tamilnadu.

When did you learn it?

  I started it as an extracurricular activity, but later it turned into a career.  When I was 12 years old, I started to learn Bharatanatyam. And once i completed +2 standard, I decided to talk it as my career and continued it 

How did you learn it?

 I did my undergraduate degree in Bharatanatyam and now I am doing my PhD in Bharatanatyam, abroad. With the full support of my parents.

And explain why you think it was important?

 When i completed my Salangai pooja in Bharatanatyam. It created an identity for me among my family and friends, so  I think it is very important to my career. And I decided to attend the next level of Bharatanatyam.

Conclusion: 

  We should learn completely the thing which we started to learn. There is no thing or activity with ups and downs, but we should tackle those ups and downs to achieve it. I defeated those ups and downs and now I'm shining with it.

Introduction: 

  Everyone has a different interest in different skills to learn. Here I'm going to explain about the skill which I learned. And now how it helps me.

What was this skill?

The practical skill I learned was cooking. In someother’s point of view, cooking is a skill which only girls should learn. But I disagree that anyone can learn any skill if they have an interest in it. I admire my mother’s cooking as she prepares such delicious foods.

When did you learn it?

  So I started to learn a few things in cooking and started to cook simple dishes with help of my mother., she was my first teacher in cooking. Day by day I got more interest in cooking. At that time I was doing my undergraduate degree, so I joined my cooking class after completing my UG.

How did you learn it?

 Later my interest in that skill became my passion.  After completing my UG, I decided to join a cooking class in ABC catering college as correspondence. I decided to learn this skill to fulfill my passion.

And explain why you think it was important?

My passion is to open my own food truck. So I started learning how to cook. After completing my course in ABC catering college . I started my new food truck near the famous beach in chennai.

Conclusion:

 Once it was my hobby, now it has become my work. I was happy with the work that I’m doing now.

Describe a practical skill you learned- IELTS speaking part 3 follow up questions

   In part 3 of the IELTS speaking test, the candidates are given some follow up questions, and should complete within 4-5 minutes. 1. What age will make it difficult for a person to learn a skill?

      There is no age that makes it difficult to learn a skill or anything. It’s all about the    interest they have. If he or she has interest in learning anything then he or she can learn it quickly.

2. Will the age of 5 or 20 be better?

Every age is good for learning any practical skill, in reality if a 5 year boy or girl wants to learn to dance or music anything is fine to learn at their age of 5 but if they want to learn practical skill like driving a car, or cooking it is better to learn at their age of 20.

3.  Who will you learn a skill from: friends, teacher or parents?

It does not matter who is teaching me? I can learn skills from anyone who knows about that skill very well, it can be my parents or it can be my neighbors or from my teachers and friends.

4. What is the difference between children learning what they like and learning  what they have to learn?

In my point of view, we should not force children to learn any specific skill. First we have to listen to their choice and interest. If a child wants to learn music, then we should not force him or her to learn computer operating skills.

5. Do you think boys and girls should learn the same skills?

There is no difference between both genders. Girls and boys are learning the same skills, like driving a car, cooking, running a business and so on.

6. Do you like to learn new skills constantly?

        Yes, of course. I love to learn new skills constantly. Recently I have learned car driving and now I would like to learn cooking as well as stitching clothes.

7.  What is the most difficult thing for learning?

        In my point of view, the most difficult thing for learning is no interest in learning a thing or any skill. For example if a parent forces their children to learn any skill, but the child is not interested in learning the skill. It might be a very complicated task for parents.
