Introduction

Travelling is something that we do everyday, even a short trip to a shop for purchase is done by either a brief walk or drive. Today I want to talk about a brief trip to an exhibition centre which I did not like.

Where did you go? And when did you go there?

This was a short trip that was planned by my friends. We had planned it after our college hours. It was at an exhibition centre, a few miles away from our university. We went there in the last week of December in 2021. 

Why did you go there?

The centre was holding a seminar on commercial baking, which included various bakery concepts. Being hotel management students, we were quite intrigued by the topic. It consisted of topics like sourdough breads, choux pastries and so on. It included a doubt suggestion held by a well-known Indian baker and patissier Pooja Dhingra.

Explain why you did not like this journey?

Due to the journey being a few miles, we opted to travel through public transport. Initially we were all standing, because the bus was full with no seats unoccupied. Just three minutes into the trip, the bus stopped abruptly. We had to get down and waited for quite a while. However, after feeling cold we decided to complete the journey by walking. Upon reaching, all of us were exhausted and freezing, losing our hopes. We had even missed meeting the patissier.

Conclusion

Although I like attending such seminars with my friends, I dislike this particular trip because our time and energy was wasted because we ended up missing more than half of it.

Introduction

• There are various types of trips such as one-way trips, roundabout trips and so on.
• Today I want to talk about the roundabout trips that I do everyday.

Where did you go? And when did you go there?

• The to-fore trips to my institution are done through the college bus.
• It is a 30 minute journey, however, due to the various halts to pick up students it extends for an additional one and half hour.
• I go every weekday. All my friends travel through the same mode.

Why did you go there?

• My university is one of the few offering hotel management in my state.
• It is the best in the town and was awarded best college back in 2010.
• It was recommended by two of my high school seniors, who graduated from this very institute.

Explain why you did not like this journey?

• My stop is the first stop, to pick up students which periodically happens at 6:45 am. I have to wake up at 5 am everyday to be ready and at the stop by 6:35 am before the bus arrives.
• There are many occasions of having to wait for another person who is running late. Leading to being late for the first lecture.
• Even the evening drop time is extended by me, since I get dropped at the last stop.
• It is a very tiring and draining journey.

Conclusion

• Waking up early everyday, yet reaching late and getting scolded is not amusing.
• Along with that, travelling for such an extended time is exhausting and tiresome.

Introduction

As someone who is family-oriented, I love visiting my relatives a lot. Today I will talk about a trip to my aunt’s house, which I dislike the most.

Where did you go?

My aunt is one of my favourite people to visit. She is my paternal aunt, and she is as old as my mother. Her house is situated in the city itself, but on the other side from mine, making it an hour's drive.

When did you go there? And why did you go there?

A month ago, she requested that my mother lend her some sarees. Both my aunt and mom share their ethnic wear and sarees because they have similar fashion preferences. Since she wanted to wear them to the wedding, which she had to attend last week, I went to her place three weeks ago. I was accompanied by a close friend due to my reluctance to drive alone.

Explain why you did not like this journey.

On that particular day, there was traffic congestion at a few cross sections, delaying us. In addition to that, the vehicle got punctured, making us drag it for almost 1 kilometre.It was difficult to drag the activa; we both got bruises and scraped our knees.

Conclusion

Overall, I love visiting my aunt, but I did not enjoy this particular one because I got injured as well as scolded by her.

Introduction

• My family does many trips throughout the year. The most frequent ones being to religious places.
• We visit several different such destinations.

Where did you go? And when did you go there?

• The trips I dislike are to a holy place called Dakor.
• We go there twice a month on alternate sundays.
• It is situated near Anand. And it is a 3 hour drive to reach.
• Sometimes we invite our extended family too.

Why did you go there?

• It is a tradition started by my grandparents, which my parents have adapted and continued.
• My grandmother is a very religious person and the head of the family.
• These are the mandatory trips organised by her. It is her method of creating a bond with us.
• We worship and do the rituals as per her request.  

Explain why you did not like this journey?

• We travel by car. I tend to get car sick and feel nauseous and lightheaded.
• The freeway that we use has several depressions, causing the ride to be bumpy.
• Even the temple is overcrowded due the weekend.
• As an agoraphobic person, I feel very uncomfortable and agitated there. 

Conclusion

• I enjoy the short journeys that my family does while such visits to different temples. But due to my fear or crowd, i do not like these trips.

1. Do people in your country like to travel abroad?

Answer: Yes, the people in my country like to travel abroad a lot. Almost all my relatives and friends tend to go outside India on holidays. They like to explore different places, their cultures and their lifestyles. Indians are quite intrigued by the western culture, the youngsters nowadays even prefer idolising foreign actors. 

2. According to you, how much time should people spend on a trip abroad?

Answer: The amount of time spent abroad depends on the individual's availability and objective of the trip. If they are travelling for official work, they should spend the required time till their purpose is fulfilled. For reasons like vacations, at least a week should be spent so that they can explore the places and learn the culture of their destination.

3. Who prefers travelling abroad, the young or the old?

Answer: According to me both the young and old people like travelling abroad. However, the senior group do have limitations due to their health issues. Youngsters like adventures and famous tourist attractions. They are attracted towards the lifestyle and culture in the foreign countries. 

4. Who do you prefer travelling with, friends or family?

Answer: I prefer travelling with my friends more. We plan road trips to hill stations and travel together in one car. All of us take turns while driving and enjoy it a lot. The memories we created together are lasting and always make me smile. 

5. Which is better for knowing more about a country, travelling or reading books about it?

Answer: I think physically being in the place is more useful in acquiring knowledge about the country. By exploring the geographical locations, one can know the culture, lifestyle, attitude and the nature of the people. Things like cuisines can not be explained through words in a book.
