Model answer 1 - Describe a Time When You Used a Map

Introduction:

A Map is a depiction of the Earth’s surface, or a portion of it, illustrating the configuration and location of various nations, political boundaries, natural elements like rivers and mountains, and man-made structures such as roasts and buildings.

When was it?

A couple of months ago I went for an adventure trip with my friends to Gulmarg, which is a paradise in the Himalayas. Gulmarg hill station is blessed with lofty snow-clad mountains. One of the main attractions in Gulmarg is the Gulmarg Gondola, the Highest Cable Car in the world.

Why did you use it?

I went to Gulmarg for the first time so the place is new to me. Apart from that, the language, culture was new to me. So until my trip ended I was using google maps to find a small shop, petrol bunk, restaurants etc.

Was it challenging to use?

One of my friends had told me that using google maps in Gulmarg was really tough, but I won’t find any difficulty in using google maps. To be say, my entire trip was hardly dependent on google maps and we successfully completed my trip with good experience.

How did you feel about it?

To my trip I took my own bike and rode my bike alone, sadly at one point I left my route in which my friends went, but by using google map I found correct way to reach my friends and I joined with them

Conclusion:

My personal opinion was that using maps is really a bonus to the roadtrippers and other adventure trippers. In my experience in all my road trips I used google maps to wander around the places.

Model answer 2 - Describe a Time When You Used a Map

Introduction:

Physical maps show the landforms that are present in the area or region that is pictured on the map. Physical map is also known as a relief map. Here I am going to share about my experience when I used the map.

When was it?

A camping is an outdoor activity that involves staying the night/more than one night in a protective shelter out in nature. Few months ago my family and I went camping in the forest in Mandangadh, which is in Maharashtra. We spent 2 nights and 3 days there. It was a great experience and we had a great time.

Why did you use it?

As I mentioned above, we went to the forest for our camping. There is no guide for us on how to go to other places. Instead of that the camping organizer had issued a physical map to each and every one who were all for the camping.

Was it challenging to use?

No, it is not really challenging to use that physical map, because they have mentioned that the nook and corners are exactly as it is in the place and it is very useful to all the campers.

How did you feel about it?

All those days are the most memorable days to us. With the help of that physical map we explore so many things like the natural beauty of western ghats trekking , the beautiful sunrise in the nearby mountains and the sunset on the nearby beach. Especially during western ghats trekking, my family and I missed all other co-trekkers,  at that time a physical map helped us to find out the best route.

Conclusion:

I thoroughly enjoyed our entire trip and the physical map played a major role in this camping trip.  Everything was so calm and peaceful, it was a wonderful feeling benign so close to nature.

Describe a time when you used a map  Model answer 3

Introduction:

A weather map is also known as Synoptic weather chart, displays numerous meteorological features across a particular area at a particular point in time and has various symbols which all have specific meanings.

When was it?

Meteorologist is a specialized education who uses scientific principles to explain, observe or forecast the earth’s atmospheric phenomena. While doing my B.Sc Meteorology, I used the synoptic weather chart. This chart has been in use since the mid-19th century and it is used for research and weather forecasting purposes.

Why did you use it?

As a meteorology student it is compulsory to use this map, most of our studies are based on the map. Most importantly we used this map to make both short-term and long-term weather predictions by analyzing various meteorological data and patterns.

Was it challenging to use?

There may be a map for several different weather elements such as temperature, rainfall amounts, pressure systems and frontal lines.Initially it seems a challenging one but it’s really not that complex when you understand a bit about what the maps are showing. The biggest challenge lies in the fact that weather patterns are extremely intricate and do not follow a straightforward mathematical pattern. Therefore, the results can only be expressed in terms of likelihood or probability.

How did you feel about it?

In my opinion I felt it was a bit challenging to understand how to predict the weather, how to identify the level of weather conditions, after some practice I started understanding it easily.

Conclusion:

Weather charts are very useful in learning about a region's weather conditions. Weather forecasting is crucial since it helps to determine future climate changes.

Introduction:

Maps play an important role in everyone’s life because it is very convenient to use. Anyone can easily access the map from the place where they are. Here I am going to share about my recent experience of using maps.

When was it?

Few days ago I got a call from one of the reputable companies in which I applied for a job vacancy. As it was my first time visiting that place in bangalore I used google map to find the exact place where I wanted to go.

Why did you use it?

As I mentioned above I was new to Bangalore, I didn't know how to go so I was using maps. Though I use different types of vehicle like bus, auto or train I use to check with my google map whether I am moving in the correct route.

Was it challenging to use?

I felt it was a bonus for me. As there are many streets with similar names, google maps have helped to find out my exact location where I want to go.

How did you feel about it?

It is a different experience. I also learned how to survive in an unknown city alone. It was about a month that I survived there alone with the help of google map, because it helped me to find the restaurants, hospitals etc.

Conclusion:
