Model answer 1 -Describe a time when your entire family was together
Introduction:
Life has become busy these days, and even family members struggle to find time to spend together. In this passage, I will discuss a special occasion when our family members were reunited after a long period of time.
When was it?
This occurred approximately two months ago, when we celebrated my grandfather's 60th birthday, marking a significant milestone in his life.My grandfather's birthday is actually in June, but due to everyone's busy schedules with work, school, college, etc. We decided to celebrate his birthday a month earlier, following the tradition of birthday celebrations.
Where was it?
We made the decision to celebrate his birthday in our hometown, more specifically in the beloved Grove that holds great sentimental value for my grandfather. This place was bought by his father and has been a cherished part of our family for many generations. Every year on my grandfather's birthday, he would plant a young tree, and as time passed, these trees have turned the area into a stunning grove. As per our plan, we embellished the grove with additions like lights, a stage, speakers, and other objects. We aimed to create a resemblance to a wedding ceremony
Why was the entire family together?
As mentioned earlier, we gathered to celebrate my grandfather's 60th birthday. Since we follow the Hindu faith, this day holds immense importance for us. It is commonly referred to as Sashtiapathapoorthi, and the preparations for this occasion are often compared to those of a grand wedding. Especially for children, this event is seen as a second wedding for their parents, and they make arrangements to honor it with equal splendor. The most enjoyable aspect of the event was the various games we played that day, such as "fish the ring" for the couple who were present, musical chairs, and Antakshari.
Conclusion:
At last we had a great time as the whole family gathered after a considerable amount of time. The celebration went amazing and it became a memorable day for us and we enjoyed delectable meals and sang with great enthusiasm.
Model answer 2 - Describe a time when your entire family was together
Introduction:
In the modern world, we live in the high-speed society, individuals are always on the go, striving to succeed in a highly competitive environment. Consequently, it can be incredibly difficult to find opportunities to spend quality time with our loved ones. Nevertheless, I consider myself fortunate to have had the privilege of being able to stay close to my family, and this is something worth acknowledging.
When was it?
It occurred half a year ago during the pongal festival. As I was studying abroad, I hadn't had the opportunity to celebrate any festivals with my family since then. However, this year, just a month before the festival, my father invited my brother and me to come home and celebrate together.
Where was it?
Since we work and study in a foreign country, my brother and I were unable to be with our parents during festivals, leaving them to celebrate alone at our home. However, on this occasion, since both of us returned, my father has decided to celebrate the festival in our hometown of Thanjavur. hometown.
Why was the entire family together?
As a farmer, my father always makes sure to celebrate the pongal festival without fail. This festival is dedicated to expressing gratitude to the Sun, Mother Nature, and the farm animals for their role in a successful harvest. We celebrate this occasion in our harvesting land and Goshala (shelter of cows) by preparing a special dish called pongal and offering it as a symbol of appreciation to the sun god. Additionally, we take part in traditional games like tug of war and Jallikattu, a well-known bull taming sport, which are organized in our village.
Conclusion:
Finally, after a significant period of time, our whole family had the pleasure of enjoying it. Particularly, my brother and I had a great time indulging in the delectable homemade dishes and the irresistible treats I experienced at home will forever be imprinted in my mind.

Introduction:
Family is the foundation of an individual's life, but sometimes circumstances prevent them from spending time with their loved ones. However, there are occasions when they do get the opportunity to reunite. In this case, I would like to share an experience of when our family members were finally brought together after a long period of time.
When was it ?
This took place a year ago, during my sister's wedding. It was an eagerly anticipated event for our entire family. Relatives from different parts of the country and even from overseas gathered to celebrate this special occasion. The wedding festivities lasted for a weekend, allowing us ample time to bond and reconnect.
Where was it ?
My sister's wedding was held at a beach resort near Lavasa. The resort provided a stunning view of the beach and surrounding peaks, creating a serene atmosphere perfect for relaxation and celebration.
Why was the entire family together?
We were all thrilled about my sister's marriage and even more excited about reuniting with each other after such a long time. We had a great time together, enjoying the delicious food and drinks. The highlight was dancing in the beautiful weather and location. We also made sure to capture the moment by taking numerous photos with all the family members. These pictures serve as a memorable proof of our long-awaited reunion.
Conclusion:
Being an introvert, I always enjoy my own company and prefer not to be in the presence of many people or engage in extensive social interactions. However, this gathering reminded me of the significance of familial togetherness and the happiness that comes with celebrating together. I genuinely cherished that particular moment.
IELTS speaking part 3 -Describe a time when your entire family was together follow up questions.
In part 3 of the IELTS speaking test, the given time limit for this section was 4-5 minutes. We have given some followup questions related to “describe a time when your entire family was together”. It will help you for your major exams.
1. Is family important in your country?
In my country, family has always been regarded as highly important since ancient times. It is the dominant institution that plays a central role in the lives of most Indians. Families are seen as strong, stable, close-knit, resilient, and enduring. The significance of family is deeply rooted in our culture and greatly influences individual values and social behavior.
2. Who should be responsible for caring for the elderly? Should it be the family or the government?
As for the responsibility of caring for the elderly, I believe it should be a shared effort between the family and the government, with a ratio of 70:30. This is because elderly individuals have dedicated their entire lives to their families, providing support and enabling them to thrive in society. They have instilled values and given them courage, so when they reach old age and require moral and physical support, it becomes the responsibility of the family to be there for them. However, the government should also play a role by offering support through social welfare programs, ensuring that the elderly receive comprehensive care.
3. How has the size of the average family changed in your country in the last few decades?
In the Earlier people in my country lived as joint families, which included grandparents, parents, aunty, uncle and cousins. But in the last few decades, the average family size in my country has changed into a nuclear family which has only parents and their kids. This is due to urbanization, career demands, and a shift in societal values, families have become smaller and more nuclear.
4. How do you think families will change in the future?
I believe that families will undergo transformations in the future as they adjust to technological advancements, leading to increased independence for each family member. I anticipate a future where face-to-face communication and spending time together will become less common, with advanced technologies making virtual gatherings more prevalent.
5. Should husbands and wives have different roles within the family?
I believe that it is fair for both husbands and wives in a family to share equal duties and obligations. This entails looking after the children, earning income, ensuring safety, providing emotional assistance, educating, and fulfilling all the family's requirements. It is crucial for these responsibilities to be divided equally between both spouses.
