Model answer-1 Describe a time you had a disagreement with someone
Introduction:
People have had varying experiences and perspectives with a specific thing. When one criticizes the ideas and beliefs of others then it leads to disagreements. Here I am going to share the disagreement I had with my best friend.
When it was?
The disagreement occurred a few years ago, when I was pursuing my school. I still remember the day when it happened, it was the day before my final publication exam. One fine evening my friend and I were revising for our exam, and that was the time disagreement started.
Who you had this disagreement with?
I had this disagreement with my close friend named Magesh, whom I have known for many years. We have been best friends since our fifth grade, and although we have had differing opinions, our friendship has always grown strong and unwavering.
Why you had this disagreement with that person?
This disagreement initially arose during a normal conversation about our college course. Since we both studied computer science in 12th grade, I had an idea to pursue a certificate course in web development after completing my public exam, and I thought I could do BCA (Bachelor of Computer Application). However, he insisted that we both can do Bachelor’s in Information Technology (BIT). He tried to convince me by highlighting the advantages of taking the course and the numerous job opportunities it offered etc.
And explain how you two resolved the issue
Initially, I tried to express my thoughts, but he was unwilling to listen to it. As a result, we stopped communicating with each other for a few weeks. Then I decided to meet him in person and explain my perspective. After discussing the issue with him and our parents, we reached a resolution. He came to understand my viewpoint and we agreed to pursue the course we individually desired.
Conclusion
In conclusion, our disagreement was resolved after the discussion with our parents, we learned that we should respect other wishes and we should not impose our own ideas on others.
Model answer -2 Describe a time you had a disagreement with someone
Introduction:
Well, we all have disagreements with our friends, families, and occasionally we may also have disagreements with people who assist us like shopkeepers, drivers, etc. Here I am going to talk about a person with whom I had a disagreement and how I resolved the issue.
When was it?
I vividly remember the day when I had a disagreement with a mechanic who repaired cars. Few months ago on a fine evening I left my car in his garage for some repair work. I got back my car after a week and we had a disagreement at the time of delivery.
Who you had this disagreement with?
As I mentioned above I had this disagreement with the car mechanic named Mr. Raja. Whenever my car has any issues, I typically leave the car in his garage. Because I trust that he is the only person in my area who performs his job accurately and with integrity.
Why you had this disagreement with that person?
As usual, I handed over my car to him for repairs and requested him to return it to me within a week. When I got my car after a week, I discovered that he had replaced the seat cover with a different brand than the one I had recommended. When I asked him about it, he replied that this brand was good compared to the one I suggested. This led to a conversation and disagreement between us, as I strongly believed that my suggested brand was better than his.
And explain how you two resolved the issue:
Initially, I was extremely upset with his work and I shouted at him. However, he stayed calm and justified his choices by comparing the two brands based on factors such as quality, price and comfort. Eventually, I decided to google about the brand and I came to know that it was a newly launched product in the market. It dawned on me that, as usual, he had executed his work exceptionally well.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, this experience has taught me the importance of not being over confident about our point. Because there are some instances where our point may be incorrect and our opponent may be correct, it is very important to avoid expressing our emotion without having a clear understanding of the situation.
Model answer-3 Describe a time you had a disagreement with someone
Introduction:
Disagreements are a common thing which occur in human relationships, it can happen between anyone, at any time and for any reason. In this instance, here I am going to discuss a situation where I had a disagreement with my sister.
When was it?
I still remember the instance when I had a disagreement with my sister, it happened a year ago. It was my summer vacation following my 10th grade final exam while she had her summer break after completing her 5th grade.
Who you had this disagreement?
As I stated above, I had this disagreement with my sister named Riya, who is 5 years younger than me. She is the most talkative and adamant person in my family. As she is the youngest child in my house, everyone has a great fondness for her.
Why you had this disagreement with that person?
As it was my summer vacation, I planned to spend this vacation on something useful. I decided to join a certificate course in SEO. I had this class for up to 2 hours a day from morning 10 AM to 12 PM. On the other hand, she also had her summer vacation but she didn’t have any work to do for her academic growth. At that time she wanted to watch a movie of her favorite hero in the theater, so she insisted that I take a day off from my class and join her. However I disagreed with her idea because I had an important topic to be discussed that day in my class. I cannot take leave and I don't want to take leave as I felt this is more important than the movie.
And explain how you two resolved the issue:
As I denied her words she got angry with me. Even though I had given some ideas to her like we can watch the movie in OTT like Prime, Netflix etc., she was not ready to hear my suggestion and she stopped talking with me for hours. Then I promised her that we would go to the theater by evening. Then finally she agreed with my suggestion.
Conclusion:
At last we satisfiedly resolved the issue where I was able to attend my class and fulfilled my sister’s wish too. This incident is marked as the time when I had a disagreement with my sister but it ended with a happy solution.
Model answer- 4 Describe a time you had a disagreement with someone
Introduction:
The basic cause of disagreements are non acceptance, false information and different opinions. Here I am going to share about the incident when I had a disagreement with my brother.
When was it?
It happened a couple of months ago, when I was asking for a new mobile phone from my father for a long time. He told me that he would give me a mobile phone for my birthday. So I was searching for good mobile phones on google.
Who you had this disagreement?
I had this disagreement with my brother Deepak. He is my elder brother who is two years older than me. He is working as a professor at the college where he studied commerce. Apart from his profession he is more interested in learning about mobile phones.
Why you had this disagreement with that person?
As I said earlier, I was looking for mobile phones and decided to buy an Iphone 15 pro, however my brother disagreed with my decision and suggested that I buy an Iphone 13 instead of IPhone 15 pro. Because he believed that the 15 pro had more features than I needed and now it is not much needed for me. Initially I was unwilling to accept his viewpoint, and it led to our disagreement.
And explain how you two resolved the issue:
After a few days, he continued to convince me by comparing the features of both phones. Eventually I thought both had the same maximum features and I conceded and realized that the Iphone 15 pro was significantly more expensive than the IPhone 13. At last I agreed with his arguments and decided to purchase the IPhone 13.
Conclusion:
From this I learned that it is important to listen to our elders and seek their advice before making any decision.

1. If there is a disagreement, what do you do?
It really depends on the issue. If it is a minor issue, I try to explain and resolve it. If the opponent disagrees with my point I silently move on. However, if it’s something important, I would take some time to resolve or to get a solution for the issue.
2. How can we disagree from escalating into a fight?
The best way to prevent disagreements from escalating into a fight is being calm in the situation. We should not react in that situation without knowing the reason behind the disagreement, and we can take time to resolve the problem. Because sometimes we make wrong decisions when we are angry.
3. Who do you think should teach children to respect- teachers or parents?
I think both parents and teachers have the responsibility of teaching children, however, I think parents are the first teachers of the children. Parents should create an atmosphere of mutual respect that kids can naturally learn about showing respect towards others.
4. What do you do when you have a disagreement with your parents?
In this case, I keep quiet during the disagreement with my parents. I know my parents have good experience in many things, so I thought that they were right. But sometimes when I feel strongly about my point then I try to explain to them about the problem and we resolve it smoothly.
