Introduction

I usually have trust issues when buying a product online due to the quality of the products and delivery. But there are trustworthy websites worth buying from and I’m going to tell you about one such website.

What is the name of the website?

The website where I bought the smartphone Samsung Galaxy S21fe is Amazon. Amazon is a well-known website where we can find all sorts of products and customer reviews. I decided to purchase from this website when my friend talked about the Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale where all the products are on sale at a discounted rate. They also provided several card and bank offers. Hence, I decided to buy a gadget during this great sale.

What did you buy from the website?

I bought the latest smartphone Samsung Galaxy S21fe and the market price of the phone comes nearly 40k but I bought the product at 27k. It was a great deal and I’m happy that I bought it on the Amazon website.

How satisfied you were with what you bought?

I was 100% satisfied with the phone I bought recently. It was working super fine and the best part is I bought this at the best offer price. A useful website like Amazon always gives products at the best deal and it is beneficial for the users too.

What you liked and disliked about the website?

There are a lot of features that I love about this website. The first thing I would say is customer reviews. When compared to other websites, customer reviews are a lot here which made me easy to choose whether to buy the product or not. Other than this, the user experience was so easy. From placing the order to checking out every step was so smooth and clear.

Introduction

I was always skeptical about online products thinking about whether they would compromise on the quality for the price. There are a lot of websites out there and I’m going to tell you about a clothing website I first tried buying it and its experience.

What is the name of the website?

I often browse a website called Myntra, India’s biggest online store. I bought a shirt for my dad in the website, Myntra.  The website contains a variety of dresses on this website for all genders with various brands. I would normally buy dresses in the physical store considering the material and fit. But because of my dad’s birthday and I didn’t have time to visit the physical store, I decided to buy online.

What did you buy from the website?

I wanted to present him with a shirt for his birthday. A lot of sizes were available on the website for all shapes from XS to XXL. There is a filter option also where you can filter from the amount range, and size to the colour you want. That was interesting. Instead of scrolling the entire page I filtered and ordered the shirt not spending much time.

How satisfied you were with what you bought?

I give 80 out of 100 for the shirt I bought from Myntra since the colour of the shirt slightly varied from the colour of the shirt present online.

What you liked and disliked about the website?

What I loved about this website was filtering the products, and placing the order seamlessly. Myntra is also giving you an offer price when you purchase with them for the 1st time. That I found really cool. They also offered a “cash on delivery” option for people like me who is concerned about the delivery of the product after payment. There is also a return policy where you can return the product within the stipulated time.

Introduction

Nowadays, buying things online is easy and convenient for many people. Almost everything is available online, and minimal effort is required for online shopping. I would say I am a prime example of the increase in online purchases nowadays. I buy things from different websites. Let me share one such experience:

What is the name of the website?

The website I often use to buy dresses nowadays is AJIO. I bought a shirt and kurta set recently for my brother and sister. It is an online shopping store for men, women, and kids. They sell a wide range of clothing and accessories from various top brands.

What did you buy from the website?

I wanted to buy a shirt for my brother's birthday. A lot of sizes were available on the website for all body types, from XS to XXL. There is also a filter option where you can filter by price range, size, and color. That was interesting. Instead of scrolling through the entire page, I filtered and ordered the shirt, saving a lot of time.

Additionally, I purchased an ethnic floral print kurta set from the AJIO online store app last week for my sister’s birthday. I had some hesitation about the size, quality, and exact colour as seen in the picture. However, I received the exact dress that I saw in the picture.

How satisfied you were with what you bought?

I was very satisfied with the product I received. The quality of the product was excellent and worth the money. Both my brother and sister were happy when I gifted them. My brother loves the quality and colour of the shirt. My sister liked the quality and the floral print of the kurta set.

What do you like and dislike about the website?

The part I like most about the website is that it is very customer-friendly. The options like filtering, sorting, and showing relevant products impress me. I also love the product quality and their refund policy. The only thing I don’t like is that AJIO takes a long time to deliver the product. They may have their own reasons, but it is the only drawback I consider.

IELTS Speaking Part 3 - Follow up Questions

The following are the follow-up questions for the topic “describe a website you have bought something from”. The part 3 round of the IELTS speaking test is conducted for 4-5 minutes.

1. What kind of things do people in your country often buy from online shops?

Nowadays people are buying all sorts of things mostly in the online store only. Online stores also provide so many offers and deals which makes the customer buy more. Starting from buying groceries to buying clothes, footwear, cosmetics, electronic appliances, gadgets, etc everything is bought online by the people in my country.

2. Why has online shopping become so popular in many countries?

Online shopping has become so popular for various reasons. People are so busy nowadays and they don’t have time to visit the physical store for buying everything. Hence, they choose online shopping by ordering the products in the comfort of their home and the products are also delivered to their doorstep. It is also easy for people to check the prices on various websites and choose affordable products according to them.

3. What are some possible disadvantages of buying things from online shops?

Online shopping has its own disadvantages. Nothing can match the satisfaction of buying the products by touching them and checking the quality of the product. Choosing the product by seeing it in an image is quite a challenging one. Sometimes the product does not look similar to the picture. There are fraudulent websites too and people need to be careful before buying them.

4. Do you agree that the prices of all goods should be lower on internet shopping sites than in shops?

Yes, considering certain factors, prices should be less when compared to products at a physical store because online stores do not have to pay for rent for the store, pay utility bills and not necessarily pay for any salesperson. They can also reach worldwide customers by shipping worldwide and gaining more loyal customers. Handling an e-commerce store is less expensive when compared to physical stores so they can also offer discounts for their products.

 5. Will large shopping malls continue to be popular, despite the growth of internet shopping?

Though online shopping is growing fast, people always love to explore. People nowadays are hanging out with friends and family mostly in shopping malls. They also started calling it a “shopping date” where a mall is considered a one-stop solution for all kinds of products to buy.

They can go shopping as well as have fun with friends like watching movies, enjoying food at a food court, etc. So yes, shopping malls will always be popular and even expand more in the future.

6. Do you think that some businesses (e.g. banks and travel agents) will only operate online in the future?

Unless every business, shop, and company starts using “virtual money” and unless every people in the world have access to a computer and the internet, banks and virtual agents will operate offline as well. Still, our country is facing poverty and not everyone is accessible to the internet thus it takes years to operate only online in the future.

7. Why do many people today keep buying things which they do not need?

People are attracted to so many offers nowadays and buying things only to get products lesser than the MRP price even though the product is not necessary for them. Many people are paying money on card rather than choosing cash on delivery and they lose track of how much they have spent on things they don’t need. My opinion is if people begin to give cash from their hand, they will feel the pain of money getting reduced from their bank and they may also spend it mindfully.
