All of us have a favourite person whom we look up to. I follow and like a small set of people on social media for their talents, contributions, and charitable activities.

Who is this person? And why is this person well-known?

One such personality is a Bollywood film star, Sonu Sood, who is a great social worker. He hails from Moga, Punjab. He started his acting career from the South Indian movie industry. Initially he started as an antagonist actor. In 2002, his first Bollywood film came out. He has gained a lot of praise for his portrayal of antagonist characters. Some of his well-known works include, Jodha Akbar, Dabangg, Happy New Year, Simmba and many more.

What has this person done?

During the recent pandemic crisis that evaded our lives. He came forward and helped hundreds to reach their homes. The unexpected lockdown had stranded the migrant workers in the metropolitan cities. These labourers acquired daily wages on the basis of their work, which ceased and their savings could only be helpful for a handful of days. At this time, Sonu Sood announced that he would provide food as well as accommodation to them. He even arranged transportation facilities to send all of them back to their native places.

And explain why you admire this person.

The main reason I admire him is that during the acute time of crisis, he was the first person who came forward to provide a helping hand. Several people reached out on social media platforms asking for help. He never denied a single soul and helped each individual. Due to the virus he was not able to meet his own family, yet he never stopped his work.

Conclusion

He is an excellent identity to idolise and follow. He contributed to the society and the affected people during a crisis.

There are a number of popular people on this planet whom I sincerely appreciate, even if I sometimes doubt whether I am so much of an admirer of them or their work to feel this way about them. IELTS Speaking Part 3: Describe a well-known person you like or admire Follow-up Questions

The last round of the IELTS speaking exam is a discussion round. This round lasts for almost 5 minutes. The responses should be detailed and at least 3-4 sentences. You have been provided the IELTS speaking part 3 follow-up questions for the cue card topic, “Describe a well-known person you like or admire”.

1. What are the qualities of being popular?

Answer: A famous individual has a public identity. They become popular because of their talent, skill, and, most importantly, their behaviour and conduct. They should be friendly and cordial. He should not be rude or hostile toward people. Be considerate and empathetic.

2. How do you think a person becomes famous?

Answer: Becoming a famous individual nowadays has become feasible as per my opinion. People known as “influencers” originating from the social media platforms have created a trend. However, even they have to put in a great amount of hard work to be recognised by the audience. To reach the horizon of success they work tediously and tirelessly.

3. What do you think about those who are famous for notoriety?

Answer: People who are known due to their misconduct and felony are actually infamous rather than being famous. It brings mockery and a situation of farce for their family members. Having this kind of fame does not get them respect and dignity. People may either look at them with disgust or hate. They can improve themselves and prove people wrong.

4. Do you want to get famous? If yes, then in which field?

Answer: Indeed, I would also want to become a well-known person. Every person desires to be known and famous. But, an individual should be mindful of their capabilities and passions. If I had to choose a field to be famous I would choose the culinary field. I love baking a lot, and being known for my skills and talents.

5. Do you think there is a change in attitude of people after becoming famous?

Answer: I believe there is indeed a change in people's attitude after being known. But I don't think that all of them behave in the same pattern. There are few who behave entitled and rude towards their assistants and staff members, but it is also true that there are people who are down to earth, who act politely with everyone.

6. How does the media in your country treat famous people?

Answer: I think the treatment of media people is no different in any country. I feel they are sometimes too overwhelming and disrupt the individuals’ privacy. Some of them follow the celebrities obsessively, capturing their routines and movements. Such behaviour repulses young aspiring actors and actresses from entering the industry fearing their and their family’s privacy.

7. Do you think media reports can affect a celebrity’s reputation?

Answer: Yes, I definitely agree that reports from the media affect a celeb’s reputation. The laymen tend to believe the media and have a perception about famous people according to the articles and news published by the media reporters. These reporters have the power of either making them a “hero” or even a “villian”.
