In the IELTS speaking cue card section the examiner will provide you with a task card, more commonly known as an IELTS cue card, outlining a specific topic on which candidates must speak. Model answer-1 Describe an occasion when you get positive feedback for work that you did

Introduction:
Feedback is an information or a comment which is provided by others regarding something that you have done. It can indicate how good or bad you performed. Here I am going to share about the positive feedback which I received.

When was it?
It happened almost a year ago, when I was a member of the Friends Affiliation of Social Services Trust (FASS). This organization was led by the youngsters in my area. This organization is founded for the welfare of the city, where we provide youngsters a platform to create a better city with the motto as “Be selfless”. By the way, I enjoyed participating in this social work because I believe that it is our duty to keep our society clean and neat. 

What was the feedback related to?
The feedback was about the work I did. Our organization has arranged a program called “Help Needy”. The main motive of this program is to help homeless people found in the streets and roads. I contributed my part by helping 8 homeless people, providing them with clothes, food, and some money.

Who gave you the feedback?
At the end of the day I received positive feedback from the head of the organization, Mr. Raghu, who is also a MLA of our locality. He gave feedback about my work which I did on that day, and presented me with a badge labeled (Good Worker) as a sign of appreciation which holds a great value among our organization.  

Conclusion:
By receiving this recognition, I felt very proud of myself and it created a lot of interest in me to do social work. Even though it is a small work that I did in that program, I felt it was a big achievement.

Model answer-2 Describe an occasion when you get positive feedback for work that you did

Introduction:
There are too many occasions where I came across receiving feedback in positive and negative ways, but here I am going to talk about one of the positive feedback which I received during my college days. 

When it was?
It happened a couple of years ago, when I was in my final year of higher studies and I had to complete a project for my course completion. So I decided to take Leprosy as my topic. As an Economics student, I thought that this topic would help me find how a diseased person and their families experience income loss, unemployment and how it affects their standard of living.

What was the feedback related to?
I received positive feedback specifically for my presentation of the project. Since it is an important project, I put a lot of effort into presenting it. During my presentation the examiner asked me about my experience of visiting those diseased people individually.  As I shared my experience in meeting those people, he understood my efforts and appreciated my good work.

Who gave you the feedback?
I received feedback from Dr. Murthy who is also an Head of the Economic Department and he was our project head. First he appreciated my work and provided feedback about my work as an excellent job. He also said that it is the perfect way to do the project, such as directly visiting the place, collecting manual census, gathering correct information, etc. 

Conclusion:
While receiving this positive feedback I was on cloud nine, I felt that all my hard work and effort were not in vain. Also This positive feedback enhances my level of confidence in my studies and to my professional growth.

Model answer- 3 Describe an occasion when you get positive feedback for work that you did

Introduction:
Receiving positive feedback would instill confidence, it boosts morale and it motivates us to do this again better than before. Here I am going to share about my experience when I received positive feedback for the work I did. 

When was it?
I still remember the incident which happened during the lockdown period around August or September of 2020. That was the first time I tried baking a cake with the basic ingredients which are available at home. To my surprise, the outcome was excellent.

What was the feedback related to?
This feedback was about my baking skill. Even though it was my first attempt at making this particular dish, the outcome was really good and everyone in my home thoroughly enjoyed it. 

Who gave the feedback?
My entire family liked it. But particularly my grandmother provided positive feedback about the baking skill. From then till lockdown, I tried more than 10 dishes like muffins, eggless cakes, brownies, lava cakes etc.  

Conclusion: 
As a consequence of that positive feedback, I enhanced my baking by enrolling in a  baking academy. Now I am successfully running a bakery named “Cupcakes”. This has taught me the power of positive feedback and how it can change one’s life.

IELTS speaking part 3 - Describe an occasion when you got positive feedback for work that you did follow up questions.

In part 3 of the speaking test the examiner will ask further questions which are connected to the topics discussed in part 2. We have given some follow up questions related to “Describe an occasion when you got positive feedback for work that you did”. It will help you for your major exams.

1. Do you like helping others?

Yes, I like helping others. It makes me happy when I see a smile on others' faces because of my help. Also I feel blessed when I earn wishes from them after helping.

2. In your view should children be taught to help others?
Yes, children should be taught to help others, it instills a sense of responsibility and compassion in them. And they should be taken to an orphanage to see how people are needy. Also they should realize that if today they help others, they will get back in future when they are in need. 

3. How can we encourage children to help others?
We can encourage children to help others by telling them why we should help and what we get back when we help others. Also we can set us as an example because if they see their elders helping others they automatically start helping others. 

4. Do you think people are less willing to help others these days compared to the past?
No, I think people are more willing to help others these days compared to the past. Nowadays I have seen many people offering food, clothes during their birthday or at any special occasion to homeless people or orphan peoples. 

5. Do people trust others as much as they used to in the past?
No, I don’t think so. I feel that people in the past have trusted each other blindly. But nowadays I feel it is tough to find whom you can trust, also they have lost confidence in others. 

6. How do people in your community help one another?
People in my community help others in the way they can. Some people may help others by giving money, food or even shelter. For instance, a few years ago when there was a flood in our area most of our community members' homes were filled with water but others who were all safe in the community have helped the needy people in our community.  

7. How do students such as high school students help each other?
Well, there are some factors when students like to help each other, by sharing notes, lunch boxes, pens or pencils, or by books. Eventually some may help others by sharing their knowledge by teaching them their subjects. 

8. How can charitable organizations help people?
Charitable organizations help people in different ways like giving medical facilities, giving education to students, by helping in the form of money. Also I have heard that some of the charitable organizations were helping people by providing shelters, issuing monthly basic groceries

9. What are some examples of such organizations in your country?
SERUDS is a Non-Government organization in Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is working as a charitable trust for the welfare and development of deprived street children, orphans, destitute women, poor old age people.  

10. What do you think are the benefits of having unpaid volunteer workers?
There are too many benefits for being a volunteer. Volunteering can provide you with a healthy boost to your self-esteem, self-confidence and life satisfaction. It strengthens your ties to the community and exposes you to people with similar interests. 

11. How do you think the volunteers themselves benefit?
Volunteers themselves benefit in many ways. It can bring meaning and purpose to your life, while increasing your self-esteem and wellbeing. Volunteering can also relieve stress, and depression. 

12. Should professionals be hired rather than using volunteer workers?
It all depends on the trust or NGO, they can hire professionals or students who are interested in doing social work. On the other hand they may hire both professionals or students because they both have experience. 

13. Do you think international aid, for example from my national government to another, is important?
Yes, I think it is very important to aid other nations. It develops good relationships with other countries. Also I think it is very important in the current scenario, because there are still some countries which are facing the highest level of hunger. And the lives of poor people are difficult no matter where they live. We should aid others in the way we can.

14. Can you give examples of international aid?  
The United States provided nearly $1.2 billion in 2022 in foreign assistance resources to Nigeria by supporting economic development, education, democracy, health, energy and climate, humanitarian relief, security, and more.
