Introduction:
Spending quality time with young children is such a pleasant and fun experience. I had the pleasure of spending some valuable time with my niece during my last semester holiday. My niece and I had an amazing time and I really enjoyed playing with her and teaching her stuff.
When was it?
It happened on Last year March. It was her first visit to Chennai after her birth. Luckily it was my semester study holiday, so I got a chance to spend my time and take care of her. Even though we met after so long, she quickly got attached to me. Most of the day she even stays with me without their parents.
Who the child was?
Naksha is my niece. She is from UP, she came to Chennai for her ear piercing ceremony. Luckily it was my study holiday so I had a lot of time to spend with her.
Why did you spend time with the child?
One day Naksha's mother left her with me as she had work regarding Naksha's ear piercing ceremony. That whole day naksha was with me, we both had a fun filled day.
Explain what you did and how did you feel.
We both played with miniature toys and kitchen sets. I had a Barbie doll. We both did makeup and dressing up to that doll and had some fun.
Conclusion:
No matter what’s going on in your home or life, spending one-on-one time with kids is an easy step toward feeling happier, more connected, and less stressed.

Introduction:
- Creating quality time with young children will help us to reduce our stress and we can also learn many things from them.
- Here I am going to share about the occasion when I spent time with the young child.
When was it?
- Last month during diwali my father invited one of his friends and his family to my home to celebrate this diwali together.
- He came with his son and daughter.
Who the child was?
- He is my uncle’s son, his name is Rudhran. He was just 4 years old.
- It was the first time that I saw him, I just admired his activity.
- Because the way he respects elders, the way he speaks all these makes him admired.
Why did you spend time with the child?
- As I mentioned above, he came for diwali celebration.
- I was an only child in my home and he had no other options to play with.
- Even though he had his sister she didn’t involve much in play.
Explain what you did and how did you feel.
- We both played some indoor games like chess, carom, videogames and hide and seek.
- Because my house was located in an apartment we have no other options to play like outdoor games.
Conclusion:
- As I said, Rudhran admired me a lot.
- I have learned something new from him both disciples and in games.
- I think it is not bad to learn something from kids.

Introduction:
There is nothing more precious than the time you spend with children. Here I am going to share about the occasion when I spent time with the young child.
When was it?
It happened when I was doing college in Trichy. I did my college by staying there for rent. Every evening I spent most of my time with the house owner's son.
Who the child was?
As I mentioned, Nivas was my house owner's son. He was an eight months old kid. He looks cute and chubby.
Why did you spend time with the child?
I like to spend time with kids, especially with newborn babies. As he was a new born baby everyday I went to his home once I came back from college.
Explain what you did and how did you feel.
As he was 8 months, he could crawl with his knees and he could sit. He always plays with the ball by chasing it. We both play games such as hide and seek, “peek-a-boo”.
As he loves to play with the ball, we both played it on the terrace.
Conclusion:
As I completed my studies, a couple of months ago I came back to my native. I really miss him a lot. Because when I was alone there only with him I spent my time.
IELTS speaking part 3 - Describe an occasion when you spent time with a young child follow up questions.
In part 3 of the IELTS speaking test, the candidates will be given a few follow up questions to complete within 4-5 minutes. Some follow up questions are given here which are related to the topic of “ Describe an occasion when you spent time with a young child”.
1. Do you think there are too many rules for young children to follow, whether at school or at home?
I don’t think children have too many rules to follow. I considered it as advice which is given by teachers and parents to raise the children with discipline.
2. Do you think children should follow all the rules?
Yes, children should follow all the rules or they should try to follow as much as possible as they can. It helps them to grow with discipline.
3. Do you think it’s necessary for parents to take decisions for their children?
In my opinion parents should make decisions for their children at a certain stage. Later they should allow their children to take their decision on their own, if they need they can give advice.
4. Do you think it’s good for parents to help children choose friends?
In my opinion parents should not help their children to choose friends, but they can guide them in selecting their friends when they are in adult stage.
5. Where do children usually play?
Very young Children and toddlers like to play with toys and in parks and children in the age group of above 10-15 will like to play independently or play cricket with their friends.
6. While traveling with children, which of the parents takes more care of the children?
Nowadays both fathers and mothers are looking after their children, but I think mothers play a huge role in looking after their children when they are traveling.
7. How do parents teach children to respect people?
In my opinion, parents should be an example for their children to respect people. Because children learn most of the activities from their parents.
8. Do outdoor activities help children?
Of Course yes, outdoor activities help children to be active and fit, also it helps them to meet new people or children around them.
9. What is the difference between the outdoor activities children play now and before?
The big difference is nowadays children are not as ready to play outdoor games like before. Before, children played outdoor games like Kbadi, Pandi, Kho-Kho etc, but now children play cricket, badminton or they play in the park.
10. Which side, the father or the mother, invests more experience in caring for the child? Why? How can we change this?
Of course mothers invest more experience in caring for the child. Because as women gave birth to the child they have a sense of affection and care by nature than the men. I think it could change suddenly but men can also take part by spending time with their child. It helps them to know more about their kids and they start to care for them.
11. What makes good parenting?
Parents who make time to listen, take children's concerns seriously, provide consistent support and spend more time with them.
