  • Question paraphrasing is the first step of essay writing.
  • Paraphrase the question statement using suitable synonyms.
  • Specify the contents of the following paragraphs.

Body Paragraph 1

Instant or ready-to-eat foods are becoming popular these busy days. There is no doubt that the most convenient food items on the market today are ready-to-eat foods. Moreover, there are plenty of options within the ready-to-eat category these days.

Body Paragraph 2

Apart from many advantages, there are lots of drawbacks to packed foods. Ready-made meals contain artificial ingredients, high levels of sugar, bad fats, and more which are harmful to our health.

Conclusion

Give a summary of the writing task 2 topic and state your final opinion.

IELTS Writing Task 2 Advantages and Disadvantages: Sample Answer 1

Food technology advancements have resulted in the growth of various methods required for the production and preservation of food products. There is no doubt that ready-to-eat foods, and other processed and packaged foods contain chemicals that enhance the taste. Although ready-to-eat foods are tasty and long-lasting, they can cause serious health problems. Over time, it has become easier to find prepared food. So, in my point of view, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages here.

Obviously, there are many advantages to ready-made foods. Eating ready-to-eat foods is a great alternative to traditional cooking, especially when you do not have time to cook something. But, packaged foods contain chemicals that are added to make the food live longer. For example, preservatives are added to extend the life and freshness of the food. One of the major advantages is that adding chemicals enhances the taste and flavour of the food.

There are many drawbacks to packaged and ready-made foods, rather than benefits. Consumption of such food causes allergic reactions in people and in some cases it is the main cause of cancer, heart disease, stroke, etc. The major disadvantage is that chemical-based foods are an addiction to people. Many processed foods contain sugars, including high fructose corn syrup which has a risk of increasing your risk for diabetes, high cholesterol, etc. To put it another way, these chemicals make food taste better regardless of their influence on one's health, and as a result, companies profit enormously.

To sum up, the usage of preservatives and chemicals is unavoidable, in today’s world. However, preservatives have significantly more negative health consequences than the benefits of increased longevity and improved taste. Therefore, considering all the implications of packaged foods, I believe that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages in this regard.

IELTS Writing Task 2 Sample 2: Some people believe that teaching children at home is best for a child’s development while others think that it is important for children to go to school. Discuss the advantages of both methods and give your own opinion.

Body Paragraph 1

In this digital world, parents are also starting to believe that homeschooling is far better than sending their children to school for studies. Homeschooling saves time, cost, transportation, and so on.

Body Paragraph 2

Even though homeschooling has benefits, the school environment is what every child should experience. So they can meet different people and different situations, which makes them more confident and courageous.

Conclusion

To conclude your essay, write a brief summary of the IELTS writing task 2 topic, share your opinion. If you've reached the word count, there's no need to add extra points.

IELTS Writing Task 2 Advantages and Disadvantages Sample Answer 2

Education is extremely important in a child's life since it enables them to think critically and creatively, and to improve their creativity and thought processes. The coaching-style has a significant impact on children's development. While some favour homeschooling, others feel that sending kids to school is very vital. Here, I will discuss both advantages and disadvantages before expressing my opinion.

Studying at home offers several advantages, such as conserving time, and energy and improving the student's focus level. Hence, it looks to be a preferable option for parents. So, many parents believe that homeschooling is better than sending children to school for studies. For instance, while studying at home parents can take care of their children healthwise. Furthermore, parents need not pay high school fees, bus fares, field trips, etc. Therefore, they can save more money by homeschooling.

Though homeschooling has some advantages, in my view, there are even some disadvantages. Simply put, homeschooling will not provide children with a better environment and growth. Children learn many characteristics like discipline, sharing, and participating in many activities in schools. For example, they will get opportunities to know about many kinds of people and understand how to behave in different places and situations. So it is my opinion that children get more benefits from studying in schools than at home.

In conclusion, I advise parents to prefer sending their children to school rather than having them study at home. Since schools are the perfect place for the students to enhance their confidence level, a lot of skills, and knowledge.

IELTS Writing Task 2 Advantages and Disadvantages: Sample Answer 3

Whether through television, movies, books, magazines, or some kind of social media, almost every person from every corner is exposed to some kind of media. Local cultures are impacted both positively and negatively by international media exposure. Personally, I agree with people who believe the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. However, I will discuss both benefits and drawbacks in the following paragraphs.

International media offers plenty of benefits to worldwide people. For instance, getting to know global cultures, every movement around the world, different lifestyles, and so on. Thus, the global culture encourages people to overcome national boundaries and promotes respect for other cultures. Moreover, we can easily access international movies, web series, news, programs, and so on. Additionally, the media spreads awareness among people through social and global issues.
Furthermore, the media bridges the gap between men and women in society, which helps women succeed in life just like men.

On the other hand, media exposure also has some drawbacks. People are influenced by the international media and are starting to forget the local culture and follow foreign cultures. For example, these days people are starting to dress like the celebrities they see in movies, shows, series, and so on. This leads to the loss of our local culture and individual identities.

To put it briefly, everything has two sides, and worldwide media is no different. It has many advantages as well as disadvantages.  However, we shouldn't delve too deeply into it because the only goals are to have fun and learn something useful. To prevent these downsides, use media in moderation. In my perspective, I believe that the advantages of media exposure outweigh the disadvantages.

Conclusion

IELTS Writing Task 2: Advantages and Disadvantages Sample Answer 4

Many companies and showrooms are making their employees wear uniforms these days. Uniforms create a feel of uniformity among the employees of a company. This activity has several advantages and disadvantages for employees as well as employers. In my view,  wearing uniforms has many advantages for employees and employers. However, I will discuss both advantages and disadvantages in the below paragraphs.

To begin with, wearing uniforms in workplaces has many advantages. For instance, no one knows the background of the employees since they are wearing the same clothes. Moreover, uniforms allow employers to recognize their employees quickly. Additionally, uniforms with company brands will promote the employer's business in many ways. Employers can get more productivity since employees do not have to bother about their clothing, they are free to concentrate on their work. This is a major advantage for both employees and employers.

At the same time, companies are forcing employees to wear uniforms in the workplace. Some people are literally opposed to this activity because they want to spend some money from their salary to get uniforms. Also, they may feel uncomfortable wearing uniforms since they are of different heights and weights. Furthermore, uniforms make employees feel dull and bored in the working environment as they can’t wear different clothes every day.

To conclude,  wearing uniforms in the workplace has become quite common nowadays. Uniforms are significant for organizations to ensure the safety of the workplace and workers. Though, while there are some inconveniences for employees in wearing the uniform, in the meantime it has a lot of advantages.

Question paraphrasing is the first step of essay writing. Paraphrase the question statement using suitable synonyms for the words used in the question. Specify the contents of the following paragraphs.

Body Paragraph 1

The global economy is becoming one of the inevitable ones these days. Since it has so many advantages like economic growth, vast employment opportunities, etc.

Body Paragraph 2

The global economy also has some serious drawbacks like environmental pollution, impacts on local culture, a decline in product quality, and more. Transporting goods is quite costly because it needs to travel thousands of miles away.

Conclusion

In this section, write the outline of the given statement. Then you can provide your personal opinion based on the IELTS writing task 2 topics.

IELTS Writing Task 2: Advantages and Disadvantages Sample Answer 5

The global economy is becoming more important and acts as a bridge between the nations of the world for world trade and businesses. This makes people all over the world build good relationships by exchanging goods and services. However, transporting goods over a long distance to different countries has positives and negatives. I will discuss both advantages and disadvantages here, but I believe that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages in the global economy.

On one hand, transportation of goods provides lots of benefits to people and sellers. For instance, it increases employment opportunities and economic growth of the countries. Many countries have their uniqueness in particular products or foods. But, no country manufactures or produces everything that people want. After the emergence of the global economy, we can easily import products even from a far distance. Due to the global economy, countries can export excess products to other countries instead of wasting them.

On the other hand, transporting goods also has some bad impacts. For example, environmental pollution increases when goods are imported or exported thousands of miles away. Moreover, they are using various routes like water, road, and air which spoil the environment. Additionally, foods from other countries become an addiction in local countries, it may affect the local culture. Also, transporting goods from different countries is quite expensive.

Ultimately, yes, there are some disadvantages in transporting goods from one country to another. However, considering the positive side, there are plenty of advantages to the global economy. So, I can say that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages here.
