It is undoubtedly true that traits define the personality of a person and compasses him to develop and nourish. There is still an ongoing debate about whether competitiveness is a positive or negative quality for one to acquire, nevertheless we will discuss both sides of this attribute. The sentiment of competition motivates the person to evolve to his optimum level and succeed. However, it can gradually affect the corporeal and intellectual health of individuals.
Competitiveness accentuates many inner potentials and confidence in people and keeps motivating them to pursue their goals. Furthermore, the sense of combat and surpassing other people to become the highest person in the room acts as a catalyst to achieve their ambitions. Indisputably, one constantly tries to improvise and to be more fierce than others in the awe of competition. Additionally, human beings are in a consistent state of learning and adapting in cut-throat circumstances. Likewise, this optimistic quality is constructive in the contemporary and ruthless world which will lead to a successful and comforting career or life in the future.
On the contrary, there are underlying effects of this character that one does not recognize on their own because of their utmost focus on competing but proves to be atrocious for one’s body and mind. Admittedly, self-centered nature can deteriorate the personal and deep relationships needed in a brutal and cold world. The continual expenditure of energy by observing and comparing oneself with others causes physiological and psychological disorders which are the most prominent causes of this feature.

In today’s monotonous and abstruse world, competition has been an indispensable part of every individual's life. To obtain anything a person has to fight for it, consequently, competitiveness became a prime feature one should possess for survival. Mostly this spirit brings out positive results for people. For detailed elaboration, we will discuss the pragmatic aspects of this specific trait.
To begin with, competitiveness encourages a person to push through their limits and become the best among others. However, utilizing this facet depends on the type of person whether it will be a boon or doom for mankind. Furthermore, by cultivating this attribute, residents become more active which leads to advancements and innovation. Certainly, combativeness has an extensive impact on personal and professional life too. Workers outperform each other to convey their work to higher authorities. In order to be competitive, one acquires selfish nature and mislays cooperative behavior and rudimentary humanity. Particularly, an intense level of competition in an organization originated by highly fierce employees can create an unhealthy work environment. This type of atmosphere does not promote productivity but makes few wage-earners feel unbearable working together.

Model Sample Answer 3 Band 7 - Competitiveness is a positive quality for people in most societies. How does competitiveness affect individuals? Is it a positive or negative trend?
The modern society comprises of progressing contributions of many great individuals. One of the reasons for this expansion is the competitive human nature. In my opinion, being competitive has a vital influence on many people’s lives, which can be both beneficial and harmful in certain affairs.
The merciless behavior of the clan has paralyzed the social life of humans. People pay more attention to their future than the life they are currently living in. Youth is sacrificing their enjoyment for the sake of a career. Irrefutably, balanced life in all disciplines can bring happiness to civilization. The population should work hard to muster their desires but not at the cost of their substantial well-being. Ambitious individuals are conceited as a result, the people around them, such as at workplaces and other private matters can come into conflict for any matter since they have a tendency of not to show any compromising attitude towards them. Moreover, too much competition means creating an uncomfortable situation in job places, since aggressive person always tries to portray their haughtiness in their work at offices instead of cordial nature towards colleagues.
A vying environment can either inspire a person or daunt him. A student can opt to learn actively or passively in a contentious condition, depending on how they consider their future. If they are thinking in a pessimistic way, they might be accepting the situation and do nothing valuable to create a revolution. Therefore, the power of competitiveness on an individual can vary, in obedience to the genre of a person.
In conclusion, competition guides people in various ways though, I strongly believe that instead of eluding it, we should seize it with proper accordance. Only in this way, we can live our favorable life without any severe consequences due to excessive competitiveness.
