 We all know that India is a democratic country, which has given many fundamental rights to the people, fundamental rights like Right to Equality, right to freedom, right against exploitation, right to freedom of religion, right to constitutional remedies, Culture and Educational rights, Saving of certain laws. Here I am going to write an essay about the freedom of speech necessary in a free society as an opinion essay.

    Among these Freedom to speech comes under the “Right to freedom”. The state guarantees freedom of speech to every person of India. However, the state can impose restrictions on the freedom of speech and expression in the pastimes of the integrity, security and sovereignty of the country, pleasant members of the family with foreign nations, for public order, with admiration to defamation, incitement to offense or contempt of court.

    The basic element of a functional democracy is to allow all individuals in the country to take part in the political and social processes of their country or nation. There is ample freedom of speech in all forms like verbal, written, broadcast etc.

   Freedom of speech is provided not only by the Indian constitution but also by international status such as the Universal declaration of human rights, the international covenant on civil and political rights, the European convention on human rights and fundamental freedom etc.
In my opinion freedom of speech is one of the most important fundamental rights.also it is one of the core pillars to the country.

Speech is the god’s gift to humans, through speech a human being can convey his or her thoughts, all kinds of emotions or feelings. Likewise freedom of speech is thus a natural right, which a human being has had since birth. Here the below essay is going to be an opinion essay about is freedom of speech necessary in a free society.

  There are few broad special purposes for freedom of speech or expression.

  1. It helps a particular person to attain his or her self-fulfillment.
  2. It assists in finding the truth.
  3. It enhance the individual to participate in other decision-making
  4. Through speech people come out from their self-boundaries and start to combine and communicate freely with others. 
  5. It presents a mechanism by which it would be possible to establish an equal balance between social trade and stability.

 In these new days people would prefer to express themselves openly in the society, they were using many platforms to express their thoughts based on various activities held in the society,  Either about government activities or media persons activities or some other things. Not only through the media, people were using newspapers, magazines, journals, articles to express their thoughts.

In conclusion, if the  absence of freedom of speech, the government would not come to know about how the citizens were surviving, what would they need for?, etc. freedom of speech would play a part to develop the nation and also it helps to balance an equal bond with government and the citizens.

  This essay is going to be about is freedom of speech necessary in free society,  freedom of speech was introduced by James Madison in 1751-1836, he's the chief author of the bill of rights and thus of the First Amendment, was the foremost champion of religious liberty, freedom of speech and  freedom of the express in the founding Era. 

   Firstly, freedom of speech is necessary to maintain a stable government and living of people in the country. Most of the time people were only listening to the voice of the heir and the government of a country.  They believed that all decisions of the government were good and those decisions were taken only for the wealth of citizens. All those things happened a long time back. But nowadays people wake up and come forward to raise their voice against the fault and crimes even if it is done by the government officials. They have understood that each and every activity of the government is not always correct all the time, and it will not create good wealth among the people. 
    
  The government of a nation should give full rights to each and every one in the society, they should not do any dissimilarities among the citizens. They should come out and raise their voice against the crime without fear of being criminalized. 

In conclusion, a nation should give full freedom of speech to their citizens. It will provide benefits that will help to build a better nation,

According to Article 19(1)(a): all citizens shall have the right to freedom of speech and expression. This implies that all citizens have the right to views and opinions freely. This includes not only words of mouth, but also speech by way of writing, pictures, movies, banners etc. the SC has also ruled that freedom of speech is inalienable to this interpretation that the Rights to information(RTI) is fundamental rights.   Here the below is about the freedom of speech necessary in a free society. 

  The supreme court of India has held that participation in sports is an expression of an individual and hence, is a form of freedom of speech. In 2004, the SC held that hoisting the national flag is also a form of this freedom. Liberal democracies, especially in the west, have a very wide interpretation of freedom of speech and expression.

The need to protect freedom of speech are in four justifications, they are

  1. For the discovery of truth by open discussion.
  2. It is an aspect of self-fulfillment and development.
  3. To express beliefs and political attitudes.
  4. To actively participate in a democracy.

The idea behind freedom of speech is generally to prevent law and order issues in the country and to enhance the country. Freedom of speech was not just to express their thoughts against the political sphere. Even to other spheres like social cultures, other crimes etc.

In conclusion, the hope is that we feel braver to express our thoughts and voice out our ideas. We must be clear, though, on what we were expressing.
