Model Sample Answer 1 Band 8 - Some people believe that nowadays we have too many choices. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

In this day and age, our lives and the choices we make, both major and small, have been significantly impacted by the enormous technical and globalisation breakthroughs that have occurred in our globe. The range of possibilities at our disposal is truly staggering. I firmly believe we have innumerable choices. I'll explain my points below.

First and foremost reason is technological progress has allowed us to constantly and easily access credible information online. Because of the ease of access to a vast trove of information online, we may now make well-informed choices at any point in our life. Now, consumers have a plethora of options to choose from when making purchases online. For instance, electronic marketplaces, such as Amazon and eBay, do not have the same physical constraints that brick-and-mortar stores do. Therefore, hundreds of comparable products will show up when a customer conducts a search on one of these sites.

In addition to this, more food can now be grown, processed, and preserved than ever before, and the world's hunger crisis has been greatly reduced as a result. Take toothpaste as an example. Once upon a time, buying toothpaste was as simple as picking out your preferred brand and size. This has changed, though, and now every label provides a plethora of options in both taste and utility. Choose a toothpaste based on whether you need it to whiten, strengthen, improve the health of your gums, or improve the smell of your breath.

In nutshell, the abundance of options available to us in the modern day is unquestionably a blessing. In spite of the fact that there aren't as many options available to us right now, that number is steadily growing as new technologies emerge.

Model Sample Answer 2 Band 7.5 - Some people believe that nowadays we have too many choices. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

In this modernising era, the revolutionary development of contemporary technology has provided individuals with ample means for their survival. People are now able to pick and choose amongst irrevocably favourable prospects because of the wide range of options now available to them. I completely bolster this stance. My preference is justified below.

In recent times, due to a variety of factors, modern humans enjoy an unprecedented variety of choices in areas such as cuisine, mode of transportation, and commercial enterprise. First, the inventive ways in which food can be produced and preserved have benefited the human population by ensuring that important varieties of foodstuffs are available all year round. For instance, because of advances in food preservation techniques, non-seasonal items are available year-round at the grocery store.

The advancement of technology gives us an advantage to get accurate information from the internet anytime we want. Today, we have access to an unprecedented wealth of information at our fingertips, empowering us to make well-informed choices at every stage of our lives. There is virtually no end to the ways in which our lives may be improved with the use of technology. With its help, we can choose where to go on vacation, where to buy our favourite products at the best prices, and even where to get the online education we require.

To sum up and offer my position, it's clear that while many people enjoy a wide variety of lifestyle options, these perks are not distributed equally. All people should have the same access to the benefits of contemporary technology, and basic human rights must be guaranteed at the very least.

Model Sample Answer 3 Band 7 - Some people believe that nowadays we have too many choices. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

In this day and age experts are of the notion that we have a lot of opportunities to pick from. I truly believe that such a situation is advantageous. I am in complete unison with this stance. My preference is justified further.

One of the main reasons for my stance is that we have a few choices and the development of technology. Thanks to technological progress, we now have numerous options from which to choose. Higher education applicants, for instance, can now do their school research online and make their final decision from among a variety of schools without leaving the comfort of their own homes. Social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp have also increased the pool of available partners for single adults. Moreover, job-seekers can send their applications to numerous businesses around the world with the click of a button.

Moreover, more freedom of choice may also contribute to the proliferation of options in the modern era. There used to be a lot of rules about who could be president and what students might study in school. In today's democratic democracies, citizens have a choice between various potential leaders. Kids today also have greater leeway in deciding what kind of adults they want to be in the future.

To recapitulate, the modern world certainly does provide a wide variety of options, that much is undeniable. Indeed, I agree that we have the chance to do this because of the availability of modern tools and the independence we enjoy.

Model Sample Answer 4 Band 6.5 - Some people believe that nowadays we have too many choices. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

We unquestionably reside in a time of cutting-edge technological development. Both sides of the argument agree that we have too much freedom these days. The point that we have too many choices is a valid one, and I agree with it wholeheartedly. Here I'll provide some examples to back up my argument for the former viewpoint.

To begin, there is a wide variety of ways to pass the time through various forms of mass media. This is because of the widespread availability of computers and internet access. For instance, there are many streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Etc. In contrast, cable television was the exclusive source of entertainment just a few decades ago. The development of computer science has facilitated the proliferation of streaming services available to consumers.

Furthermore, there is an abundance of educational options available to students. This is because there is a growing demand for talent in cutting-edge industries. Universities only offered a few engineering degrees at the time engineering education was originally launched, including civil, mechanical, electrical, etc. Now, however, you can take classes in cutting-edge fields like microbiology, textile engineering, petrochemical engineering, and so on. The growing demand for skilled labour in these areas has led to a dramatic growth in the demand for training in these areas.

To recapitulate, no one can disprove that we are living in the modern era. We are surrounded by fields that are making strides forward. Quoting the fields like media, entertainment and education, I agree with those who believe that nowadays we have too many options to choose from.
