The continued rise in the world’s population is the greatest problem faced by humanity at the present time. What are the causes of this continued rise? Do you agree that it is the greatest problem faced by humanity?

Give some examples for the topic given with your expertise.

Model Sample Answer 1 Band 8 - The continued rise in the world’s population is the greatest problem faced by humanity at the present time. What are the causes of this continued rise? Do you agree that it is the greatest problem faced by humanity?

Overpopulation is also known as overabundance, happens when the population grows to a point and when it must be handled. The major reason for overpopulation is rise in birth and decrease in mortality. When the population increases the resources will become insufficient for the whole population in the nation. 

  We can say a few causes for overpopulation like, international migration, decrease in death rate.
International migration:  people were migrating from their native to other places because of many reasons, like employment opportunities, marrying another nation people. when they migrate to another nation or place then they start their life in that nation. It is human nature that when a person feels, the present place is better than the previous place then he/she will much prefer to stay where they are at present. This may be the first reason to increase the population of one particular nation. 

Decrease in death rate: The decline of death rates can be caused by good knowledge about welfare policies, and a healthy lifestyle, which improves the environment to lead a good lifestyle. Also there are more medical facilities, controls of epidemics, control over famine. Not only the above mentioned are reasons for decrease in death rate. 

When population increases there will be an equal reflection of effects that are also increasing, insufficient resources like, water shortage, deforestation, global warming, depletion of natural resources.

In conclusion, With overpopulation a nation will face a greater problem. People should be educated with the effects of overpopulation to control the increase in population.

Model Sample Answer 2 Band 7.5 - The continued rise in the world’s population is the greatest problem faced by humanity at the present time. What are the causes of this continued rise? Do you agree that it is the greatest problem faced by humanity?

   India is the second largest country in the world, after china. Overpopulation is one among the more serious issues that our country is  facing, as it accounts for more than 1.20 billion people of the over 7 billion population in the world. Rapid growth of population is the bane of the economy of underdeveloped, poor and developing countries in the world. 

We can list out the causes of overpopulation in India like, increased life expectancy, early marriage, lack of education, religious reasons, lack of family planning, talks of society etc.

Early marriage- child marriage is one of the major reason for the social problems of our country, even today a large number of boys and girls are getting married while they hae not even completed their studies. Marriage at young age is also a reason to increase the high fertility rate. 

Lack of family planning- previously people had no knowledge about the family planning concept, in my experience I have heard that in a family there is a woman who gave birth to 13 children, I think if they had knowledge about family planning,  it may not have happened.

Talks of society-  I was confused that still now people were preferring boy babies, but also there are few people who were preferring girl babies. Not only the society, even the family members were not allowing the women for family planning, till when they got a boy baby. 
 
We can say these reasons for increasing population, people should know that increase in population will lead to many effects in future. As a present generation we should handover the good society and environment to our future generation.

This modern world is facing many problems, one of the problems among those is overpopulation. This seems to be a major problem all over the world. This essay I am going to write about the reasons and effects of the rise in population.

Overpopulation is when the human population rises to an extent exceeding the carrying capacity of the earth, in an overpopulated environment, for sure people will be in insufficient of the resources, we may say that the causes of overpopulation is increase in fertility rate, decline of death rate and etc, but these are not only the reasons for increase in population, advanced technologies in fertility treatment., more medical facilities are also the reason for increase in population. 

Advanced technology in fertility treatment- with the latest technological advancement and more invention in science, it has become easier for the couple who are unable to give birth.more than 8 million babies were born from IVF since the world’s first in 1978.  IVF, Nowadays it is more common among the people. Specifically in India from 1.5 in 2015 to 3.5 lac in 2022. 

Some other causes for overpopulation are Social compulsion of marriage, lack  of means of entertainment, ambition of a big family, betterment in economic position, joint family system.

With increase in population people were in increased demand for food, water, housing, healthcare etc. like this basic needs. overpopulation may lead to many issues, all countries should take immediate steps to control and manage human population growth.

Model Sample Answer 4 Band 6.5 - The continued rise in the world’s population is the greatest problem faced by humanity at the present time. What are the causes of this continued rise? Do you agree that it is the greatest problem faced by humanity?

Since 1804, the human population has increased from 1 billion to 8 billion due to medical advancements and improved agricultural productivity. According to the most recent United Nation projections, the global human population is expected to increase by 9.7 billion in 2050 and 10.7 billion in 2100. Here the below essay is going to be about the rise in population and the problem faced because of overpopulation.

Few reasons for increase in population, As most families in rural areas under poverty were thinking that having a large family will increase their poverty line, so they gave birth to 4-5 children in a family. This  may be one reason for the increase in population. Still there are many families in some religions who do not advocate the concept of ‘family planning’.

Increase in population would cause many effects like,  Increased risk of infections- Increase in population will cause many airborne infections to the people due to overcrowding and environmental changes, disease like Tuberculosis, Malaria, cholera etc, depletion of natural resources.- As the human population has increased continually, people have started to exploit nature like water resources, air and land, elevated crime rate- as human overpopulation drives resources and basic needs become insufficient, this leads to elevated crime rate due to drug cartels and theft by people in order to survive.

The issue of overpopulation is faced by various countries in the world, with various effects like unemployment, poverty, pollution, crime rate etc. to avoid these issues a government of a nation should take measures to the population by laying rules and regulations like educating illiterate people about the family planning, effects of populations etc.
