Model Sample Answer 1 Band 8 - The position of women in society has changed markedly in the last twenty years. Many of the problems young people now experience, such as juvenile delinquency, arise from the fact that many married women now work and are not at home to care for their children. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays, it is very common for a female to work even after she has a child, but some people disgrace this progression by claiming that the unavailability of a woman during the early age of a child has resulted in problems like juvenile delinquency. I disagree with this viewpoint to a great extent.
To begin with, it is not true that all the illegal activities performed by the youth are a result of their mothers being working women. According to a report submitted by Julia Hilton, it suggests the criminal activities performed by young people are majorly due to the influence of their bad company and not due to their parents. Regardless of whether mothers are present with their children all the time or not there ought to be situations where they will be alone with their friends. Such scenarios cannot be avoided, thus, we can say that mothers being working women are not a cause of this trouble.
On the contrary, there are some with the perception that a child needs the attention of their mothers, as they are the primary shield. One usually has the most trust in their mothers in any problems they face; it may concerto some that if they lack maternal attention they might seek comfort from others in a wrong way. To add to this, if a child is about to perform some juvenile delinquency, a mother will know about it immediately and will be able to tackle it. This way a mother can bring back her child on the correct path.
To summarize, it can be observed that the illegal activities performed by naive children are not due to their mothers being working women; it is a result of other situation.

Model Sample Answer 2 Band 7.5 - The position of women in society has changed markedly in the last twenty years. Many of the problems young people now experience, such as juvenile delinquency, arise from the fact that many married women now work and are not at home to care for their children. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
The stance of women has improved, especially in the last 2 decades. People think that many problems faced by naive children are due to the less or negligible attention they get from their mothers. I condemn such a viewpoint, my position is explained in the ensuing paragraphs.
To commence with, I would like to put forth that such an opinion is extremely orthodox. People should understand that a women's career is not optional, and the problems faced by their wards are not the result of mother inattentiveness. In such a case when women cannot be with their children all the time, fathers should put in the effort. It is the duty of both parents to look after their wards. Moreover, many companies now give maternity as well as paternity leave to the parents; these companies provide services related to nannies as well. The blame for mental problems faced by children can be situational and it cannot be blamed on their mother.
On the flip side, there are a group of people who believe that motherly love is incomparable and anyone cannot take their place. The care a mother is able to proffer cannot be given to any other member of the family. The way a child expresses to their mother is unparalleled.
To conclude, I agree that mothers have a special position in the growth of a child, but the mental problems faced by their wards are not to be blamed on their mother. In such a case, everyone in the family should put hand in hand to raise a child.

Model Sample Answer 3 Band 7 - The position of women in society has changed markedly in the last twenty years. Many of the problems young people now experience, such as juvenile delinquency, arise from the fact that many married women now work and are not at home to care for their children. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
We have seen many changes throughout the 21st century out of which women empowerment is the most evident one. Majority of women work, which results in not giving enough time to their wards. This has caused an increase in crimes by the youth. I disagree with this fact, my stance will be elaborated further in the ensuing paragraphs.
First and foremost, it cannot be disregarded that the working hours are hectic. The tender age of children molds them into a person. If both parents work, the inattentiveness can push the young mind into depression. This may, later on, result in losing family ties as well as having immoral behavior. Such negative changes in personality will lead to drugs and other illegal activities.
However, it is high time to change our mindset, it should not be just mothers’ responsibility to cater to the needs of their children. Fathers must also take equal care of their kids, as even women are now considered breadwinners of the house. In this modern world, we should break this patriarchy. If both the parents wish to work, then they should find an alternative. There are many day-care and day-schools available which take care of young children and teach values, duties, and morality to them as well.
To conclude, it can be observed that indeed mothers have a special bond with their wards; but they should not be tied down in their houses. An appropriate substitute should be chosen by both the parents to look after young children.

Model Sample Answer 4 Band 6.5 - The position of women in society has changed markedly in the last twenty years. Many of the problems young people now experience, such as juvenile delinquency, arise from the fact that many married women now work and are not at home to care for their children. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
It was not common for a woman to be still working after they have a child, nevertheless, the world has revolutionized. Nowadays women work even after they give birth to their children, but this has given rise to psychological problems.
To start, it is evident that the crime rate of young people is mushrooming. It is argued that such a scenario is held because mothers are working and they are not able to offer their children an ample amount of time. In India in particular, people usually live in a joint family and it is not true that children are left alone as they always have either their grandparents or their elder siblings to care for them. Values, morality, and traditions that are supposed to be taught by mothers can also be done by other elderly members.
Furthermore, we are spectators to a myriad of teenagers carrying guns to their academic institutions in the United states of America. According to Harvard University, in common American household kids, 58% of teenagers are not given the essential amount of attention that is essential for their growth. In many such cases, these young children take up the wrong path as they do not have elderly support that can help them to recognize between the correct and incorrect path. All such troubles can be avoided if mothers take care of their children and shower all their love on them.
To conclude, it can be said that not just mothers but both parents are responsible for the upbringing of their child.
