Model Sample Answer 1 Band 8 - Tourism is one of the fastest growing industries and contributes a great deal to economies around the world. However, the damage tourism can cause to local cultures and the environment is often ignored. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In this contemporary era, globetrotting has become a core sector for nations to boost their economies. Nonetheless, the advancement of this industry is a threat to native cultures and the environment. A reliance only on natural resources for infrastructure and invasion of foreign cultures are the causes of exploitation. I partially agree with this statement and I laid out reasons in the following paragraphs

To begin with, tourism relies much on natural resources because they are exploiting the forest areas to construct infrastructural facilities such as hotels, buildings, and many more for accommodation. Additionally, forests were getting destroyed and wildlife was getting extinct just to make tourists attractive places. People are not realizing that even though these beautiful places of the nation are attracting tourists, ultimately we are depleting the resources as well as the balance of the ecosystem.

In contrast, native culture is the first and foremost reason which attracts sightseers the most. Many cities are just financially reliant on the tourist industry only. Having said this, it is impossible to accept the fact that a regional culture will be extinct based on the increased tourist operations. For instance, Jammu and Kashmir in India are the place wherein tourism is the only source of earnings. Moreover, it had never caused any harm to the communities who live there for generations.

To conclude, there are some drawbacks to the tourism industry. But in comparison, it also benefits local nature and the economy surpasses the damage. In my opinion, the government should take action or pass laws to handle the cons of this industry.

Model Sample Answer 2 Band 7.5 - Tourism is one of the fastest growing industries and contributes a great deal to economies around the world. However, the damage tourism can cause to local cultures and the environment is often ignored. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Tourism is a multi dollar industry and it is true that its share of economic development is huge. However many people believe that the evolution of jaunting is causing damage to the environment as well as local traditions. I partially agree with the latter statement.

To start with, this industrial sector plays a major role to provide tremendous support to the economic welfare of the nation. Additionally, traveler mostly travels to explore places and they have no bad intentions to hurt the local cultures as well as the environment. While I can say that before visiting any country or nation, they must research about that place and try to respect those. Furthermore, it is true that more than foreigners, local natives are loitering at tourist attractions. For instance, the Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of India that is visited more by Indians and is responsible for its damage.

Contrarily, there are certain bad faces of this sector too. Firstly, it causes a major impact on the ecosystem because knowingly or unknowingly people litter and loiter in places that in turn become unhygienic and unhealthy. To illustrate this, let's take an example of 'the great wall of China. In one survey it was revealed that every year tonnes and tonnes of garbage were collected from that place.

In conclusion, it is true that the tourism corporation has become an integral part of the economy but the fact that the resources are depleting cannot be ignored. In my perspective, I think a balance between both the factors should be maintained.

Model Sample Answer 3 Band 7 - Tourism is one of the fastest growing industries and contributes a great deal to economies around the world. However, the damage tourism can cause to local cultures and the environment is often ignored. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Undeniably, tourism has become one of the most powerful economy-driving sectors. However, some people think that this Industry was causing a bad effect on native cultures and their environment. I strongly disagree with the former view.

In my perspective, this sector helps to popularize traditions, and cultural attractions and contributes to the preservation of the natural heritage. In addition, the traveler's visit to a particular place or country will surely go to bring financial assets to the local businesses of that area. Thus, tourism can be seen to improve dwellers' lifestyles and can also reduce unemployment rates therein. Also, the local communities can sell their products at their decided rates. To specify, the more tourists visit that area, the more entertainment services are opened to meet their needs, which will help them to gain profit for the local people. According to one survey, almost half of Jammu and Kashmir's money is accumulated by the tourism industry. Therefore, because of its financial benefits, many states in North and South India are promoting tourist attractions to bring visitors as much as possible.

Despite these advantages, there are a few disadvantages too. Firstly, the number of people polluting the environment was increasing. For instance, in Goa, the beaches are littered with bottles, soda cans, packets, and much more garbage. Moreover, carbon emissions produced by vehicles have negative impacts on the atmosphere.

To conclude, the benefits have outweighed the drawbacks. I strongly suggest that government should work on the problems in order to reduce the negative effects of the tourist industry.

Model Sample Answer 4 Band 6 - Tourism is one of the fastest growing industries and contributes a great deal to economies around the world. However, the damage tourism can cause to local cultures and the environment is often ignored. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Due to globalization and convenience in transportation, there is a rapid surge in exploring the world. Several people are claiming that the increment in tourism industry is bringing some bad influences on local communities whilst others believe that it is advantageous too. This essay will discuss both views in detail.

To start with, it is true that tourism is financially beneficial for local regions. Also because of this trend, employment opportunities are increasing for locals. When visitors pay a visit to a place of interest, they have to buy tickets or fees for the entrance. They can earn money by selling their goods and services to foreigners. Moreover, histories were unknown to the world before this rapid exploration, but nowadays cultures of some local communities were exposed to the Earth. For instance, after the evolution of this sector, Indian mythology was revealed among Asian people. Also, many tribes love their teachings to be wholly spread on this earth.

In Contrast, there are a few pessimistic views also. But the most prominent is the concern of feelings and hygiene of locals. Some foreign people used to wear western clothes at sacred places which receives drastic effects against the trends as religious places have some restrictions which everyone should obey.

In conclusion, despite the adverse impacts of the tourism sector, it is a worthwhile industry that should be promoted all over the globe as it plays a vital role in economic development. Also, the issue of unemployment can be solved by this trend.
