• You have one minute to prepare and up to two minutes to speak on the topic.
• This section assesses your ability to speak fluently, coherently, and accurately.
• Topics can range from personal experiences to abstract ideas.
• You need to provide relevant and engaging information to hold the examiner's interest.
• Use the preparation time to jot down notes or key points for your response.
• Structuring your thoughts ensures you cover all aspects of the topic.

In IELTS speaking cue card section, the examiner will give a random (general) topic to the candidate to speak about for 2 minutes without any pause and full fluency.

Introduction:

Here I am going to talk about a long car journey which I went on with my friends during my higher studies is to Pondicherry. It was the most memorable day.

Where did you go?

I planned a trip to Pondicherry by car with my friends. We rented a car and hit the road. It was a 10 day trip and we enjoyed our whole trip very much.  We visited many places in pondicherry.

Who do you go there with?

5 of my close friends planned this trip and we executed it. We started the trip by 5th May 2023 and completed it on 15th May 2023. When we reached Pondicherry, my old friends who studied with me during my school days, also joined us to explore.

What did you do at that place?

Our first stop was the famous Paradise beach, which took a 3 hours drive through Chennai ECR road. Next we went to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus which is located very near the railway station. We went to some restaurants to explore French cuisine and am not sure about names of the places we explored.

Conclusion:

Overall, This car journey was so funny and the memories we created were long lasting and priceless.

Introduction:

The long car journey I went on is to Pune with my family. I never had the opportunity to travel to new places. We as a family decided to explore Pune. For this long journey we decided to travel by car, to explore many things and places.

Where did you go?

Pune is actually a city approximately 1,170 kilometers from my hometown. It takes 3 days to reach Pune. So we planned to have a comfortable and fun-filled journey with our car.

 Who did you go there with?

I went on this trip with my family. We stopped our car at restaurant to have our breakfast, lunch and dinner during our drive. When we had covered 300 kilometers, the weather suddenly changed and it started to rain. It was really pleasant and we enjoyed our entire trip.

What did you do at that place?

We explored many temples, shivaji fort, mall, some bazaars where many dresses and accessories are available at very cheap prices. Also we went to a spot which is near to the beach side. It was so amazing and this is the place I liked in the whole trip.

Explain why you went on that journey by car?

This city has many places to visit. It is more comfortable for us to travel in our own , as we can stop by many places and see and to take rest as and when needed.

Conclusion:

Since we were traveling in our own car, that’s why it was much more comfortable, and we were’ not much tired as well.

Introduction:

Here I am going to talk about a journey where I went with my cousins by car is Chennai. This was our long time wish, at last we did it during our vacation with our parents permission.

Where did you go?

We planned our trip to Chennai which  is the capital city of Tamilnadu, also which is a culturally-rich city with carnatic music, delicious food, serene beaches and popular temples. We heard that it is one of the most preferred tourist destinations in India.

Who did you go there with?

I went  to chennai last year with my cousins, we are 4 members of the same age. One of my cousin had completed his studies and was pursuing his job and we other 3 were going to complete our higher studies. We planned our trip on our vacation holidays.

What did you do at that place? 

As we are in Bangalore we started our trip from bangalore at 5.00 am and we reached Chennai by 11 am. First we visited the famous marina beach in Chennai, it was so pleasant to visit the beach in the morning. We spent some time there and we went to have our breakfast. Next we started to explore many places like lighthouses, vandalur zoo and other.

Explain why you went on that journey by car?

We decided to have a trip to have some fun with our cousins. Also, it takes a few hours to reach Chennai from Bangalore, so we decided to take our car to have a trip.

Conclusion:

We thought to have our trip safely and enjoy the full journey. Unfortunately we met with an accident near Sriperumbudur highway.  With God's grace we had no injuries. We took it as a lesson and drove carefully for the rest of the journey.

Part 3 of the IELTS Speaking test is the Discussion section, which evaluates your ability to express your opinions, ideas, and thoughts on a given topic. There are many reasons for why people like to have their own private car, the main being is to show off their status to others. Moreover it is more comfortable and beneficial to old and disabled people.

5. Is it a good thing that everyone has his/her own cars?

Nowadays most of the people are working in different locations,  they have to travel by bus or cab to their working destination, so they have to wait for their bus or cab, to avoid it they prefer to have their own car.

6. How to buy private cars in India?

People need to purchase a car or some other vehicles from the showroom in a straightforward process. Also they are 2 methods to make a payment, if they had full amount they can own their car by paying full amount if not they have to pay a certain amount as advance and they can pay through EMI and they can but it.

7. Do many families own private cars in India?

Yes, many families in India have their own car. Most of people in city have their own cars.  Nowadays people prefer to travel to places by car. Also there are every types of cars are available in the market, and they buy it according to their budget and preference.
