Natural disasters frequently befall us, and a great deal of people are terrified of these potentially devastating events. Since I witnessed the terrible effects of earthquakes at a young age, I personally have a phobia of them.

What is it?
It's just an earthquake, which happens frequently compared to other natural disasters.

Why do you fear it? 
A natural disaster that can happen at any time and cause significant property damage and fatalities is an earthquake. I believe that there are more earthquakes in my country than any other type of natural disaster. When a high magnitude earthquake strikes, it can cause apocalyptic property damage and human fatalities.

How does it affect people’s lives?
While a medium-sized earthquake can terrify people to death, small-scale earthquakes are frequently missed by the general public. Furthermore, a significant earthquake splits the impacted region, leaving only devastation in its wake. For example, the earthquake in Gujarat in 2001 killed up to 20,000 people, injured another 167,000, and destroyed almost 340,000 buildings, all at a magnitude of 7.7. Millions of people are displaced by earthquakes, which also ruin their livelihood, kill their cattle, demolish their homes, and leave them penniless. Even the removal of the debris and the removal of the dead bodies takes months. For example, the 2015 Nepal earthquake claimed nearly 9,000 lives and left incalculable damage in its wake. Years passed before the country recovered from the losses.

Some of the most terrible things that happen on Earth are natural disasters. Natural disasters, such as earthquakes, cyclones, floods, etc., cause catastrophic havoc and loss because we lack an exact system to predict their occurrence. 

What is it?
Huge masses of air, known as the cyclone's eye, revolve around this single point. With their powerful gusts, these winds have a tendency to uproot nearly everything in their path. In addition to causing flooding in their path, cyclones have the potential to destroy even more property and lives in their path. The intensity of cyclones and their unpredictable nature are two of the main reasons they can be so terrifying. Super-cyclones are storms that can cause significant damage to the areas that are unlucky enough to be affected by them when their intensity surpasses a specific threshold.

Why do you fear it?
It's well known that cyclones can cause enormous destruction. Huge trees can be uprooted by the dangerously strong cyclone winds, which can also cause buildings to collapse. Because coastal regions are hit by cyclones at their strongest, they suffer the most negative consequences. After a super cyclone, coastal regions and fishing villages are frequently reduced to rubble.

How does it affect people’s lives?
While there isn't much we can do to stop cyclones from causing damage, we can build cyclone shelters for those who live in or near the affected areas, particularly coastal areas. Additionally, the government ought to plan more relief initiatives for the impacted communities and individuals.

The preventive measures are the same as the remedial ones, which aim to lessen environmental and ecological cycle damage.

Even though human civilization has developed and we have created a number of strategies and backup plans to deal with these unanticipated challenges, human effort still has a limited impact on some natural disasters. A cyclone is one such natural disaster that presents a serious risk to property and human life. Natural disasters are becoming more common as a result of global warming, and sadly, my region was hit by one of these two years ago.

What is it?
I'll never forget the situation that resembled a flood, which had a negative impact on the area. 

Why do you fear it? 
In fact, my country experiences abundant rainfall during the monsoon season, which is eagerly anticipated by the populace as a reprieve from the intense summer heat. However, that year's rainfall was heavier than anticipated and continued for nearly a week. I still clearly recall how initially everyone was overjoyed by the rain, but as soon as we realised it was a disaster of sorts, the government declared an emergency. 

How does it affect people’s lives?
People were even more terrified when the power went out as a result of the thunderstorms. Now that there has been a lot of rain, water has begun to seep into homes, particularly those that are low-lying. This is mainly because sewage maintenance work was neglected, affecting thousands of residents in the area.

It is imperative to take all necessary safety measures and get ready for natural disasters of this kind. 

Conclusion
In summary, The fact that there were only minor losses—some property loss—was the best thing. All in all, I will always remember it as a horrifying experience.

Even though they have happened forever, natural disasters have become more common in recent years. 

What is it?
I'm most afraid of floods out of all of them.

Why do you fear it?
Over the last five years, India has experienced numerous floods, which have turned into a serious threat to the nation. Floods killed a large number of people in the southern regions of India recently, which had an impact on the entire economy of that region.

How does it affect people’s lives?
I saw on television how children and their parents have become very distant. There is no one left to care for some children because their parents have passed away. The food supply has been cut off for those who managed to escape the flooding safely, leaving them starving. It has had a negative psychological impact on me and made me fearful of floods. as I have never experienced a loss of this nature in my life.

In my opinion, the government is the only entity that can find a solution to this issue because they are the ones who can make significant progress in this direction. To identify the primary cause of the leak and determine the best course of action to halt it, they must perform a microscopic examination.

Conclusion
In the nutshell, it is our duty as citizens of the nation to take proactive measures to address this issue on our own. For instance, we can plant more trees to absorb flood water and slow its flow, thereby lessening its harmful effects on humans.
