As we are facing more and more problems which affect the whole planet, good relationships between different countries are becoming more important than ever before. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer and include relevant examples from your knowledge or experience.

Model Sample Answer 1 Band 8 - As we are facing more and more problems which affect the whole planet, good relationships between different countries are becoming more important than ever before. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

As a whole, the entire world is facing various issues, be it pandemics, global warming, or even natural calamities. Some people believe that it is important for nations to be friendly and have a good relationship with each other now as compared to the past. I completely agree with this idea, because they will help others in need and not turn away.

To begin with, in recent years, the probability of earthquakes and hurricanes has increased considerably, posing threats to countries with vast ocean coasts. African countries, India, Australia, and so on have large coastal areas that can be destroyed and damaged by hurricanes and cyclones. Even earthquakes cause tremendous loss and damage to the country and its people. For instance, Turkey experienced a 7.8-magnitude earthquake, destroying the homes of several thousand people, hospitals, roads, and so on. To help the citizens of Turkey, countries from across the globe sent rescue teams and medical facilities, as well as food supplies and basic necessities.

Furthermore, recently the entire world faced the deadly Coronavirus. During the pandemic, all the countries helped each other by providing protection suits, vaccines, and medical supplies to the countries in need. Countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, and so on were struggling a lot to provide for their citizens and sustain themselves during the pandemic. However, Pakistan suffered more, since it did not have a good relationship with the neighbouring countries except China. Hence, nations need to have a good relationship with each other.

To sum up, in times when everyone is facing identical problems, it is crucial for them to be united and cordial with each other. Being aloof and hostile will only worsen their situation.

For the sake of the planet, there must be universal peace. It is more important than ever to develop relationships among countries because people are facing an increasing number of challenges that could ruin the entire world. I completely agree that good ties with other countries are essential for people who reside there.

A good relationship is essential and useful for all countries. To begin, a government can support another country in difficult situations, like when a developing country is experiencing an economic or financial crisis, and if it has a good rapport with the developed nation, it can aid the former in overcoming the difficult time. Furthermore, terrorist activities have increased in the past few years, causing nations like Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, and so on to fear for their people's safety. For instance, Afghanistan needed America’s help to eradicate terrorism because it did not have the army and equipment required.

Moreover, good ties with other countries can also be beneficial in recovering from losses caused by natural disasters such as earthquakes or tsunamis. For instance, when Japan was destroyed by a tsunami in 2011, the United Nations provided it with 3,000 crores to help it restart the economy as well as rebuild the infrastructure. In addition to that, if the countries have a good understanding and friendship, the possibility of a war being declared decreases. A war does not just damage property; it also kills innocent people. Hence, it is beneficial for every country.

To conclude, while the entire world is facing various problems, a good bond between countries is very beneficial for all. This is because it decreases the probability of conflicts and also aids each other in dire times.

In recent years, every country across the world has suffered from global issues like terrorism, poverty, diseases, and so on. In such scenarios, it is very important for the nations to be united and have a good relationship. I agree with the above statement. By being united, countries can work together and help each other.

Good ties among countries facilitate easier trading activities. With globalization, exports, as well as imports, have increased tremendously. There are a variety of things that are not available in every country. But without mutual trust and understanding between the two countries, trade cannot be done. It does not only make trade easier; it has also opened up opportunities for multinational companies to expand themselves in various countries. This has opened up employment opportunities for the unemployed people in developing countries, whose youth are suffering from unemployment due to limited job openings. For instance, due to these companies, many people in India have secured a well-paying jobs and recovered from their unemployed period.

Moreover, it is also beneficial in dire situations. In situations such as those where a natural calamity occurs, it causes massive destruction and harm to the living organisms residing there. For instance, the 2019 bushfires in Australia are known as the black summer. It caused widespread damage in various parts of Australia. During this period, various countries like India, Britain, America, Japan, and so on helped Australia in every aspect to recover from the losses and rebuild its properties. Hence, good relations between nations are important.

To sum up, everyone all over the world is encountering issues, and few people think that a rapport between countries is a must. I agree as a friendship will not only avoid conflicts but also be helpful in dire situations.

There are numerous ongoing issues that affect all countries. To overcome or at least decrease these issues, I believe it is essential that all nations, from the East to the West, cooperate with each other.

Industrialization has contributed to certain severe issues that are impacting all countries. Since almost every country uses modern technology and facilities and played a role in the growth of such problems, they cannot be resolved by one country individually. For instance, global warming is a more serious issue that is caused by greenhouse gases. Needless to say, all industries and cars that use fossil fuels release carbon dioxide, a major greenhouse gas. Hence, global warming will continue to occur until all countries unite to reduce these emissions. Even the air conditioning units emit carbon monoxide, which is a very harmful gas, as excessive inhalation of this gas can cause death.

Moreover, issues such as these may be handled more smoothly if countries establish friendly relations with one another. Each country possesses experience, knowledge, and information about a situation that can be put to use to help avoid or minimize the issues. Every year, numerous disasters harm various countries and kill a large number of people. For instance, earthquakes do happen and cause numerous fatalities, but Japan has made progress in dealing with this issue. If Japan shares its earthquake expertise and experience, the casualties will be decreased.

In conclusion, I think that until all nations cooperate to tackle the global issues affecting every country, they cannot be resolved. Such concerns will be resolved if all nations combine their knowledge and agree to collaborate to resolve the issues.
