Model Sample Answer 1 Band 8 - These days more fathers stay at home and take care of their children, while mothers go out to work. What could be the reasons for this? Is it a positive or negative development?
In the modern era, ancient gender roles are shifting very swiftly. As a result, more fathers are staying at home to care for their children, while more mothers are working. This is happening because women are equally educated and proficient as men. This contributes positively to society.
With the changes in society, parents have now opted to let their daughters pursue the education they desire. This has enabled them to have a higher position in companies. The females are now capable and very proficient. They are the leaders in some of the fields, such as teaching, human resources, banking, and fashion design. These have a higher demand for female employees than for male employees. Another reason may be a mutual decision made by the parents. If the mother has a higher-paid job, it can sustain their standard of living better, so the mother continues her job. For example, my aunt, who was in a management position, kept working while her husband, who had a lower-paying job, sacrificed and took care of their children.
This, in my opinion, has a positive impact on society and represents a step forward for the senior population. The role shifts break the regressive thinking of women staying at home and men working. Both genders collaborate, whether to raise a child, provide for the family, or earn a living. When men stay at home and do everything their spouse does on a daily basis, they realise how tedious and strenuous their job is.
To conclude, the roles being changed between the parents are due to advancements in ideologies and manpower demand. It has a positive effect on society, bringing about a change in traditional and orthodox thinking.

Model Sample Answer 2 Band 7.5 - These days more fathers stay at home and take care of their children, while mothers go out to work. What could be the reasons for this? Is it a positive or negative development?
Nowadays, fathers are increasingly choosing to stay at home and care for their children rather than seek employment, while mothers continue to work and earn. Some men do this for financial reasons, while others do it for personal reasons. This can be considered a very positive trend because of the benefits it brings.
In recent years, there have been a variety of changes occurring that parents have had to adapt to. Women, like men, can obtain education and qualifications and pursue a career. Society has gradually come to accept that men can stay at home to care for their children. Along with changes in society, the standard of living has also risen in regard to how the parents decide on the breadwinner. Therefore, the couple jointly decides who should take care of the children. For instance, my cousin’s wife earned almost double his salary; hence, they decided for her to continue working while he stayed home.
In my opinion, these changes are progressive and beneficial for society. People are quite content to live in a community where men and women have equal rights and opportunities. It also benefits women in particular, as they are able to follow their aspirations and dreams. This is beneficial for children as well; for instance, research has found that children raised by fathers tend to have better emotional stability and social skills.
To conclude, the core idea of family and the role of parents is changing in the contemporary era based on the advancement in society and the abilities possessed by individuals. This has been shown to be positive because there are more benefits for society and its members.

Model Sample Answer 3 Band 7 - These days more fathers stay at home and take care of their children, while mothers go out to work. What could be the reasons for this? Is it a positive or negative development?
There is a change in the role of parents. Traditionally, mothers took care of children while fathers worked. However, now the roles are reversed. This occurred due to the movements and agendas carried out for the empowerment of women. I believe this has a negative impact due to the effects it leaves on men’s mental health.
The feminist group has carried out a number of movements and agendas in order to achieve gender equality in the workplace. This has brought about equality between the sexes in all environments. As a result, fathers are now responsible for raising their children while mothers work. Along with that, companies have now understood the efficiency and progress they can achieve with the help of women. creating a prominent demand for female employees. This has led to mothers being able to work while their partners take care of the children.
Contrary to the reasons for change, its impact is not favourable. A mother's natural instincts are to provide more love, care, and tender handling for her children. When fathers care for their children, they frequently overlook the details and give things a rough once-over with care and tender handling. This is lacking when fathers care for their children; they tend to ignore the details and give things a rough touch. Along with that, society still does not accept this change and often labels men as "useless" and many other things. This leaves a dent in their mental health, which deteriorates gradually.
To conclude, the changes in the roles of parents have occurred due to the change in ideologies brought about by the propaganda of feminists. This has brought about more negativity than benefits.

Model Sample Answer 4 Band 6.5 - These days more fathers stay at home and take care of their children, while mothers go out to work. What could be the reasons for this? Is it a positive or negative development?
Because of global socioeconomic development, more fathers are staying at home to care for their children while their better halves work. There are several explanations for such an event. This, in my opinion, is an improvement.
The stereotype, that is, the mother looking after the kids and the father earning money, has been broken by the parents of this generation. The schedules of the parents are mutually agreed upon. They frequently alternate working days to care for their child. For instance, my neighbours are new parents to a baby boy; they go to their workplace for three days while working from home for the rest. Moreover, there are several women who are more proficient and educated and earn a higher salary than their male counterparts, which gives them a better opportunity to provide for their families.
There are several points that prove that this change is bringing positive development. Firstly, the gender equality that is advocated by feminists is maintained by this step. It enables the women to maintain their social and corporate positions. It is also deepening the bond that a child has with his father. As they stay home, the children and fathers spend more time together as opposed to before, creating a bond similar to that which a mother and child have.
To sum up, the role reversal between parents is the result of socio-economic development helping them change the orthodox logic. It brings about beneficial changes to society, such as women holding their positions and working alongside men, and fathers having a similar bond with children as moms do.
