In recent decades, there has been a marked increase in the number of people taking advantage of the excellent recreational opportunity that travelling offers. This is because, in order to afford the creature amenities of modern living, many people now put in more hours at their employment. Their busy schedules and long hours of labor drain their vitality, therefore a getaway is necessary to replenish their reserves. As a consequence of this, more people than ever before are able to go on vacation. An easier trip is possible with cheaper plane tickets. Thanks in part to social media, more individuals are getting the travel bug. People's urge to travel has heightened as a result of seeing their friends' vacation images on social media.

One obvious effect of travelling is the chance to learn about and appreciate other cultures and ways of thinking.
