Model Answer 1
Introduction
I believe that volunteering is something that makes individuals explore different areas. I often hear from my mentor that to figure out your passion you need to reach out to businesses and people to work without any pay. In that way, I can be aware of the field completely and can know whether I am able to work passionately or not. This statement always made me involved in volunteering activities.
What it was? and Where it was?
It was the day when my school decided to take our batch of students to a village in Kanchipuram and make us aware of their tradition, culture, and their lifestyle. There we got the opportunity to visit the school that was located in the village. After seeing the environment of the school, our principal decided to help them to make it better. The volunteering activity I was involved in was cleaning and gardening the school which was part of the renovation.
Why did you volunteer?
As a city-born kid, I was very much excited to visit the village to enjoy nature and the environment. When my school decided to take our class students to the village, I enrolled my name without hesitation. Regarding volunteering, I was always keen to volunteer for social activities. Also, taking part in the renovation is my favourite.
How did you feel about it?
I was very much happy after seeing the final results of the renovation. Firstly, all students were gathered as a group irrespective of age and work for the upgradation of the school. I got many friends from other classes. I was part of the cleaning and gardening team and some of my friends took part in painting and drawing on walls. Finally, the school looks neat and clean and I was very much satisfied with my work.
Conclusion
At last, it was a great experience volunteering for the development of the school. And, the people and kids situated near the school saw the renovation and appreciated all of us and the teachers. The happiness on all of the kids' faces is priceless.
Model Answer 2
Introduction
Involving in volunteering activities will give a feeling of happiness and pleasure. This will also make you understand other human lives and will give you the chance to interact with new people. Volunteering will not only help to build a connection but also helps to explore different fields and learn new skills.
What it was? and Where it was?
The volunteering activity which I have done in my college was campaigning about the traffic rules. We made people aware of the consequences that they will face and also how they affect innocent people by not obeying the traffic rules. All of the volunteers gathered in front of our college and started our campaign right from our college road and covered the entire neighbourhood area.
Why did you volunteer?
There was an accident in front of our college road. On that road, there will be no traffic signals available and there will be a zebra crossing for pedestrians to cross. One of the fellow college-mates tried to cross the road, and at that time a vehicle that came at high speed smashed the girl down and the girl was heavily injured. This incident affected all of us in the college. This makes us initiate the volunteering activity of controlling road accidents.
How did you feel about it?
I was quite happy about this volunteering activity and it gave me a social responsibility of obeying the rules and laws that the government insists on for the people’s well-being and safety.
Conclusion
This incident made me aware that the small actions we make for our benefit will likely affect the lives of innocent people. This volunteering activity made me realize the responsibility of a human being.
