Out of the 3 parts in the speaking section, the Cue card IELTS (Speaking) is a part which you can score well. The examiner will give you 1 minute to prepare for your answer and then you have to speak for about 2 minutes about the cue card topic given to you. Sample 1 - Describe a creative person whose work you admire

Introduction
We see many people in our lives, but some people stay in our minds for some reason. I know a person who is a good painter. 

Who he/she is?
I want to talk about my childhood friend Ashish who I feel is a very talented painter. 

How do you know him/her?
I have known him since my childhood. We met in school and he was my classmate and best friend. I first witnessed his creativity after the art competition. 

What creative things he/she has done?
After I saw how well he drew, I asked if he could draw my portrait. He gave a positive reaction and told me he will try it. The next morning he came to school with a drawing and called me to show it. I was surprised to see myself in the drawing. He had put so much effort into it and I could see so much detailing in the drawing. I loved it.

And explain why you think he or she is creative?
I like to appreciate people with good talents. People with really good creativity are hard to find. At such a young age he had so much creativity that he gave importance to all the minute things while drawing. Now he has chosen his passion as his career and I am very happy to see that he is enjoying what he does. 

Conclusion
The portrait that he gave me is still with me and I have framed it and kept it with me.

Sample 2 - Describe a creative person whose work you admire

Introduction
There are people blessed with creativity around us and we meet them and wonder how they got these talents. In my school, I had a teacher who taught us to draw.

Who he/she is? and How do you know him/her?
Her name is Deepika and she is our art teacher. She taught us drawing and painting from Class 1 to Class 5. As children, we admired her skills to draw on the blackboard. 

What creative things he/she has done?
She used to teach shortcuts to help us learn to draw easily. Following her steps, we were able to draw birds and animals very well. With her lessons, I slowly developed an interest in drawing and was able to do it on my own. 

And explain why you think he or she is creative?
She was extremely talented in drawing and teaching too. I still can remember the drawings on the blackboard which were really amazing to see. She would draw those fast and we would wonder how she could do it so quickly.

Conclusion
I wish all the teachers could impart knowledge in such a way that students feel interested in that subject and would grasp it easily. As students, we admired her creativity.

Sample 3 - Describe a creative person whose work you admire

Introduction
I believe that all of us have got talents and we all have different talents. Being creative is one of such talents that some people acquire and some people are born with it. I want to talk about a talented person who stays in my apartment. 

Who he/she is?
He is my neighbour who stays in a flat nearby my flat. He is a moviemaker by profession who has written stories and directed movies. He is also almost 50 years old and stays there with his family consisting of his wife and children. 

How do you know him/her?
I meet his son often so we were very close and one day I got a chance to meet the person. His name is Ravi and his passion is to make good movies. Once while I was talking to him he shared a story of his next movie. The story was a crime thriller and it was really engaging that I never wanted him to stop telling the story. Finally, when he completed the story he asked me if I liked the story. I told him that I loved it and he was happy to hear that. 

What creative things he/she has done?
His works include writing stories and scripts and directing movies. After hearing the story, I rewatched his movies and was able to enjoy them much better than the previous time I saw them. 

And explain why you think he or she is creative?
His stories have such deep meaning and will tempt us to rewatch his movies. His creativity lies in making engaging stories for his audience and has become successful at his work. 

Conclusion
Ever since I heard him narrate the story to me I became a huge fan of his work. I wish I get a chance to hear more stories from us.

Sample 4 - Describe a creative person whose work you admire

Introduction
Once I had an experience where I understood creativity can be applied in any job. This incident happened when I went to a restaurant to have food. 

Who he/she is?
He is a chef at the restaurant I went to. I came to know that he is the head chef at that restaurant. He told us his name was Anil.

How do you know him/her?
We ordered a dessert after the main course to end our meal. The dessert was a bit fancy and expensive and we had our expectations high. When the dessert came we were amazed to see how well it was presented. We were stunned by the beauty of it and we didn't want to eat it and just wanted to keep looking at it. We asked the waiter to call the chef and we were happy to talk to him.

What creative things he/she has done?
He presented the dessert so well along with all the garnishing. We appreciated his culinary skills and came to know that he learned them from the UK. He is an expert in preparing desserts. Before this, I never thought cooking could be such a creative job. 

Conclusion
The satisfaction of the job lies in how much we love our jobs. People who love what they do tries to improve it and hence the output is magnificent. 

IELTS Speaking Part 3: Follow Up Questions

The third part of the IELTS speaking test is the follow up questions. These questions will be based on the same topic that was asked in part 2. Here check the follow up questions that can be asked for the topic Describe a creative person whose work you admire.

I think I am a creative person. I like to paint and draw and people have appreciated me for my creativity.

Most jobs require people to be creative. It depends on the person's involvement and interest in the job which brings out the creativity in them.

4. Do you think leaders need to have creative ability?
Having talented people as our leaders will benefit the state. They will have a good vision of their country and can express their ideas to the stakeholders.

5. Should we encourage creativity in educational institutes?
In an educational institute, there will be different types of students who are interested in different fields. Some may be interested in academics, some in sports, and some in arts. So it is important to encourage creativity in schools and colleges so that students can learn what they like.
