Introduction

It is always good to have neighbours around us to communicate. My parents work in the IT industry and I don’t have any siblings. I felt quite lonely when we shifted here. Then I met our neighbours living in our opposite flat who were very nice and welcoming. Their daughter was of similar age which is an added advantage for me to connect even more.   
 
How long you have known this neighbour ?
 
It's quite a long time since we knew each other. My first interaction happened at their daughter’s birthday party. Soon after that both of our families became close friends.
 
What sort of person he/she is ?

They were very active and fun loving. There are a lot of things that make our neighbours quite interesting. One of the most loving nature they have is organizing and entertaining society parties very gracefully. The entertainment tasks which they plan are very cool that every member participates willingly.
 
How often do you see him/her ?

I go for a morning walk with their daughter every day. They were working executives so our interaction will be mostly on the weekends. They communicate and share a lot of things with us without any hesitation.
 
And explain what kind of relationship you have with him/her OR explain why you consider this person to be an interesting neighbour ?
 
Everyone considered me as a part of their family. Myself being an introvert I am very happy and blessed to be their family member because very few people have that capacity to own the neighbours and help them in need. It’s an interesting quality they had.

Introduction

Being friendly with the neighbours will erase the gap that creates differences among them. I am a student and live in a residential flat with my cousin. There is a North Indian family living next door who are basically multilingual.

How long you have known this neighbour ?

I shifted to this flat a month ago. Our first meeting happened during the society meeting where I was surprised by their speaking skills in the local language.

What sort of person he/she is ?

They are very bold and transparent in speaking. During the meeting they addressed their issues in a very polite and clear way without facing any difficulty in communication. Everyone in the meeting praised them for their unique ideas in resolving an issue.

How often do you see him/her ?

I often see them in yoga class every morning. Due to our work schedules we weren't able to meet during weekdays. We meet on weekends in the garden area and discuss interesting topics like movies,how they learned multi languages etc.

I hold a very good friendly relationship with them and living next door to them does not make me feel homesick. The best part of their personality is that they are approachable in any situation and gives us comforting space. Since we live alone they speak about our whereabouts, cook food for us,teach us different languages etc.

Introduction

• Neighbours are the one who live with us in good and bad times.
• I live in a single storey building where the owners live next door.
• They belong to a Hindu family filled with rich traditions and customs

How long you have known this neighbour?

• I have been living there for 2 long years.
• I approached them in search of a house and was impressed by their nice gesture.
• The house has a very good architecture which resembles our childhood.

What sort of person he/she is?

• They were very calm and composed people.
• They had a lot of knowledge about our history,culture,natural remedies for ill-health etc. which the younger generation needs to be aware of.
• They are very supportive and helpful all the time.

How often do you see him/her?

• Being a doctor by profession I was busy attending the patients.
• There is less scope to visit their house and spend time.
• But we meet daily on morning walks and discuss various topics as a part of refreshment.
• I often take suggestions from them regarding future plans etc.

A community where people stand together to solve problems/issues is marked as the best. People should own the community and keep the place neat and clean. Everyone should equally share responsibilities and take care of the property and its amenities. They should respect each other and treat all people equally. Small events/ meetings have to be conducted to associate more.

5. In India, are there any facilities for improving relations between neighbours?

India is called the land of festivals. These festival celebrations unite the people and  bridge the gap between them. Also there are other facilities like parties, weddings, well maintained parks etc. that gives a way to socialize better with the neighbours.

6. What kind of neighbours don’t you like ?

I don’t like people with bad manners.Neighbours have to respect privacy and not peep into our lives. Such behavior is not acceptable. People who quarrel all the time for silly reasons are not tolerable.

7. How do you remain connected with your neighbours?

Due to work schedules we cannot meet them regularly. I have used a little technology like Whatsapp to communicate on a daily basis. We have created a group to stay connected and discuss various topics. We even schedule meetings,plan outings,convey wishes on occasions like birthdays, festivals etc.through messages and calls. Apart from these incase of any unusual activities happening in the locality I immediately bring to the notice.
