What is the occasion ?

  • During my graduation we got an invitation to attend a college cultural fest which includes many activities like workshops, quiz, sports, dance etc.
  • This fest was celebrated for 3 days where the students from all over the place attended.

Where you went?

  • The event happened at NIT Trichy campus.
  • Me along with my group of friends visited the campus with an invitation pass we have and stayed there until the fest was completed. 
  • The campus was wide spread across a large area with various departments to study.

Who do you celebrate with?

  • This fest was a once in a lifetime experience where we competed with the other students in various activities like robotic workshop, quiz,sports etc.
  • We enjoyed the rain dance, bi-cycle race organised by the student committee. 

Why it didn’t cost you much?

  • The invitations to the fest were very limited.
  • They provide food and accommodation to the students who have the passes.
  • There were no participation charges for the events. Only travelling charges were spent on our own which didn't cost us much.

A new year eve party in a software company is a celebration.It takes place at the end of December.The celebration continues throughout the night with various activities.

Where you went ?

Hosting the party at a restaurant makes the event more momentous. We booked a resort with wonderful amenities like a swimming pool, sports activities etc. for the event.

Who do you celebrate with?

All the employees including the board of directors were invited for the party. Apart from cultural activities there was an award ceremony done and few employees were rewarded for their best performances in their respective roles.

Why it didn’t cost you much?

Since it’s a company sponsored program and has business ties with the resort, it didn’t cost much. We were provided with nice rooms to stay followed by dinner.Other activities like go karting, table tennis etc. are chargeable with a minimal amount.

Every time my parents plan special occasions. This time I have decided to plan a surprise for them. So,last month I arranged a small party for my father’s birthday.

Where you went ?

Surprise parties have to be planned in such a way that they should be remembered lifelong. I took my parents to a fancy restaurant and made all the arrangements in the function hall over there.

Who do you celebrate with?

I invited a few of my father’s friends and also family members to the party. Some of my friends even visited from other places to make this occasion special.

Why it didn’t cost you much?

Since the restaurant owner is my friend’s father he has provided me with a special discount on dining and also given a function hall to use for free. That was a lovely day and my father was very happy and overwhelmed as he never expected the surprise.

Yes, These days I heard a lot about online shopping and thought to give it a try. I purchased a few accessories and they delivered me a damaged product. Placing an order is quite easy but getting a replacement for a broken piece is a bit difficult which I faced personally.

4. Why is online shopping so popular these days?
Online shopping is considered as a convenience to purchase everything through the internet. Due to their busy lifestyle, office working hours people have less scope to spend time shopping. We can select and  purchase a wide variety of items that were manufactured all over the world. So people are utilising these services to buy the products they like.

5. Do you think you can buy something from a physical store without money?
Well our country is slowly heading towards a cashless mode of payment. These days even small stores are providing multiple payment options like credit card, debit card, google pay etc. So you can buy items without using money from a physical store that offers these cashless payment options.

6. Do you indulge in impulsive purchasing?
I am basically an organised person and repeat things/items for multiple purposes. There are many marketing strategies that try to attract the customers to shop more by providing various discounts for every occasion. But I usually plan according to my budget and will stick to that strictly. So in this way I avoid this impulsive purchasing.

7. What strategy do you follow to save money?
Mostly I use various schemes available in the market to save money. Apart from that I avoid spending frequently on unnecessary things like shopping etc. Always prefer home food to stay healthy.
