Introduction
A party that I enjoyed was wedding announcement. It's always lovely and important to celebrate momentous occasions with loved ones and friends. Today, I will be talking about a family gathering my sister hosted, which I appreciate a lot.
Whose party it was and what it was celebrating?
My sister held a party a month ago; however, we did not know what we were all celebrating. Later, she announced that we were there to celebrate her engagement to her boyfriend. When she announced it, we were all thrilled.
Where the party was held and who went to it?
The party was hosted in her new house, which also caught us off guard since we were unaware of it. There was enough room for all of us to play games and dance, and it was extremely beautiful as it was decorated with flowers and balloons. Everyone, including our family, college friends, school friends, and childhood friends, was invited.
What did people do during the party?
Everyone arrived on time, so at first we were all startled since we didn't know why this spot was chosen, but then my sister entered and revealed the first surprise, that she had bought that house, and secondly she bent down on one knee in front of us to propose to her boyfriend. We all enjoyed cutting the cake and continued the party by playing games, dancing wildly, and eating dinner.
Explain what you enjoyed about this party.
Everyone was upbeat, and the atmosphere was really lively. The moment my sister got down on her knees and put the ring on her boyfriend's fingers was the highlight of the party. She then gave us a lovely speech in which she described their interaction, which left us all feeling really overwhelmed. Overall, the party was a lot of fun, and I really treasure those memories now.
Conclusion
Because this moment will never come when everyone we loved would be in the same place, we all made an effort to take advantage of it as much as we could. We all felt pleased since we adore her so much and were grateful to be a part of this special occasion.

Introduction
A party that I really enjoyed is my friend’s send off party. To be honest, I don't really enjoy going to parties; instead, I prefer family gatherings where I get to spend time with all of my cousins. Therefore, I prefer parties occasionally. I'm going to talk about the one I went to on December 31, 2022. It was one of my friend Rohan's last party in India before he moved to America.
Whose party it was and what it was celebrating?
Rohan had given us a party as he was moving abroad for further studies. We have known each other since we were kids, and we remained friends all the way through college, so we have a strong friendship bond. We were all recognising him for his accomplishments till date and was feeling ecstatic that he would be continuing his education in America.
Where the party was held and who went to it?
The gathering was planned at his farmhouse, where we had a private pool, and the atmosphere was really celebratory. He invited all of our childhood and school friends, and it was also a sort of get-together to welcome the new year for us and to start a new chapter in his professional life.
What did people do during the party?
We all were very excited to meet everyone as we had not met since long time, we all interacted with each other and shared about things going on in each other's life, laughed at our old memories and incidents, saw clips from our school days which reminded us how time has passed so quickly, we all danced our hearts out, and had dinner together.
Explain what you enjoyed about this party.
The reunion with all of my old friends at this party, where we hadn't spoken much since 12th grade, was the highlight for me, along with celebrating Rohan's accomplishments. At the party, I started to get a little emotional.
Conclusion
We all made an attempt to capture as many memories as we could because we were unsure of when we would all meet again. So, we all welcomed the new year together, enjoyed our time spent together, and bade farewell to our best friend Rohan.

IELTS Speaking Part 3- Describe a party that you enjoyed Follow-up questions.
The following are follow-up questions to "Describe a party that you enjoyed." This IELTS speaking section of the exam lasts for approximately 4-5 minutes.
1. What are the main reasons why people organise family parties in your country?
In my country, "families" are typically valued as the foundation of our civilization. Therefore, in my humble opinion, we should regard it as our duty to nurture and support a stable family life in whatever way we can. Thankfully, the majority of people in my country are aware of this crucial component of our societal stability, and they decide to show it by planning various parties for special occasions like weddings, wedding anniversaries, birthday celebrations, and religious holidays.
2. In some places, people spend a lot of money on parties that celebrate special family events. Is this ever true in your country? Do you think it is a good trend or a bad trend?
Despite my reluctance to acknowledge it, the truth is that similar events are happening in my country as well, which wasn't the case even a few years ago. The fact that so many wealthy people spend a significant amount of money on such events bothers me. According to me, occasionally being a part of this kind of trend may provide us with some momentary satisfaction, but it doesn't bode well for the development and durability of a healthy society because it just serves to emphasise the money-oriented aspect of life.
3. Are there many differences between family parties and parties given by friends? Why do you think this is?
The answer, however, depends on the activities we engage in at these gatherings and what their true end objectives are. To be more specific about the distinction, when friends organise a party, they are attended only by friends, in order to enjoy some cheerful, enjoyable, and light moments in a setting that is somewhat informal. On the contrary, family gatherings are typically attended by people from all walks of life who want to spend time together in a more formal setting.
