Describe a time when you forgot something important Model answer 1

Introduction

In today's society, goods are so important that the possibility of losing them is simply not acceptable. For instance, if you lose a cell phone that has important documents and personal information stored on it, it may lead you to feel anxious. I went through a very similar experience.

When did it happen?

This event took place when I was traveling back home from the workplace where I worked. I recall using it while I was in the cab, but when I returned home and started unpacking my purse, I realized that I had forgotten to wind it up with some of the other stuff I had with me.

What you forgot and explain why it was important?

In this case, I'm referring to my journal. It served as both a blank page and a friend and family member for me. After growing up, namely in my teenage years, I became intensely fixated on decorative items like black rings and little pendants. So my mother gave me this diary for my birthday. It had a lock and a brown key around the lid. It appeared to be from the 19th century because of the thick, yellow pages. I used to record every event that affected me, as well as my opinions on all facets of life.

What was the result of your forgetting?

It was obviously an unpleasant feeling. I still feel bad that I misplaced and forgot it. The strange thing is that although I had temporarily forgotten about it, now I feel abandoned by my journal as a result of that incident. The realization that I would never again experience the same sense of connection with my soul buddy, my notebook, and a thoughtful birthday present which was overwhelming for me.

Conclusion

I think that certain occurrences can serve as good teaching moments, but the loss that was endured will always be remembered, making it hard for any of us to ever forget what we have learned from those experiences. When I travel, I always make sure that everything is checked twice.

Describe a time when you forgot something important Model answer 2

Introduction

  • Because we are humans, our brains tend to forget something important.
  • It is not unacceptable to forget things sometimes.
  • Having said that, I have come to the realization that neglecting something that is significant or something that we wish was of tremendous significance may make us feel terrible and mindful all of the time.
  • Here, I will be talking about a similar event that I witnessed a long time ago.

When did it happen?

  • When I was in high school, I completely blanked on a day that was very significant to me.
  • The rain had been falling steadily since morning, and I was feeling grumpy because of a disagreement I had with my brother the night before.
  • Even though I tried, I was unable to make it to my coaching classes that day.
  • I turned off my phone and did not even bother to leave my room, as is typical for me to do when I am in the habit of doing so.

What you forgot and explain why it was important?

  • It was my close friend Lily's birthday yesterday.
  • For people of our generation, a birthday is not only a day to commemorate an important event and a cause to have a party; rather, we have a distinct set of expectations when it comes to birthdays.
  • After everything was said and done, Lily was my best friend.

What was the result of your forgetting?

  • As I had completely forgotten about that day, I went to school the next day as if nothing had happened. Although, she was a bit cold to me.
  • When I was not able to tolerate her behavior, I asked her the reason, and then she yelled at me for forgetting her birthday.
  • I felt so sorry for that and apologized to her.

Conclusion

  • Because she was impolite to me, I soon realized that a person does not take pleasure in causing pain to others, but their words and deeds might be a mirror of how you have made them feel as a result of your actions.
  • I'm thankful that Lily was able to forgive me, and after that, we went out to have some quality time together.

Describe a time when you forgot something important Model answer 3

Introduction

Once learning begins, we always have something or someone to remember. Recalling information is crucial for efficient operation. For instance, at work, we must complete the work by the deadline we've noted with all the required details. Here, I will discuss an occurrence in which I failed to remember an important thing, which led to major consequences for me.

When did it happen?

This happened during my college years. Mid-term examinations were about to be held, implying a hectic schedule throughout the day. All the students were pressurized as the results were going to affect the final examination report too.

What you forgot and explain why it was important?

The Physics project that I was supposed to do didn't get done at all. It was made up of internal marks that were meant to count toward the final grade. The defeat wasn't just because of the remarks, it also had to do with the fact that I was chosen to participate in the scientific show that was announced at the yearly event. Because of all of these factors, the completion of the project was an absolute must. However, I forgot it because I was quite stressed out about my mid-term performance.

What was the result of your forgetting?

As soon as I became aware of this information, I went into a panic. First things first, I attempted to think of some methods to avoid upsetting my instructor, but in the end, I was forced to admit to her that I had forgotten about the physics project that we were supposed to be working on. Because I had been so careless, she became really angry with me, and she even shouted at me for it. In the end, she granted the extension that I had requested on my deadline.

Conclusion

In the end, I realized that forgetting things that need to be done within a particular period of time should not be taken for granted initially so that one does not forget it. I got lucky because my teacher understood and extended the preparation span, but I will never forget that period when I got so tensed. I will never let such a situation arrive in the future.

IELTS speaking part 3 - Describe a time when you forgot something important follow-up questions

The "Describe a time when you forgot something important" follow-up questions are available for you. The IELTS speaking part 3 - follow up question session is conducted for 4-5 minutes. Make sure you explain your responses to the IELTS examiner in detail.

1. What kinds of things do people forget easily?

Ones that most people do not place high importance on are typically the things that they forget. Certain individuals have a difficult time recalling unique or exact details. For example, I have a hard time recalling the names of streets and specific dates. I am completely unable to recall the birth dates of anyone other than myself.

2. What kinds of people are more forgetful?

Well, people who are always preoccupied with anxious thoughts, in my opinion, are more likely to let important details slip their minds. We are all aware that stress does not have a singular advantage but rather millions of tiny consequences that might cause brains to become more fragile. A mind that is always busy will never allow a human to live in the now, which will lead to the individual forgetting things that were heard or seen in the present.

3. How can people improve their memory?

Memory is tied to a person's mental health, and one's mental health may be improved by engaging in regular physical exercise and meditation practice. In addition, the functioning of the entire nervous system can be influenced by the foods we eat. Consuming things like almonds, coffee, and green leafy vegetables can most certainly assist in improving memory capacity.

4. What do you think of people who use calendars?

From my perspective, people who use calendars are very responsible and dedicated people, who understand the severity of important events or dates. Calendars are useful tools that may help people remember important events, such as upcoming appointments, deadlines, and accomplishments. They can be of use to you in day planning and can act as a helpful reminder of important occasions such as holidays and vacations.

5. How do employees remember all the work and deadlines?

As a student of commerce, I have received extensive training in the art of planning. Planning is an extremely important component in the operation of any company or organization. When things are planned out, it's easier to keep your ideas about the task organized over the course of the length of time. In addition, it is possible that the duty of superiors includes the responsibility of reminding their team of the deadline.

6. Do you think there is a difference between forgetting the habits of people belonging to different generations?

People who are younger than adults under the age of 45 have a lower risk of forgetting things than older people beyond the age of 45. The same principle applies to younger adults and adolescents. Teenagers have more active minds and curiosity while adults struggle to plan for the future or are always stressed because of their responsibilities.
