Introduction
As a cricket enthusiast, I have an uncanny ability to watch cricket matches. I usually enjoy watching cricket matches from the convenience of my house. On one occasion, I travelled to Mumbai specifically to watch a live cricket match.
What was it?
It was a One Day International match between India and Srilanka. It was the World Cup Final which was in the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It was a classic match for team India where they lifted the world cup after 28 years.
When did you watch it?
It was played on the 2nd of April in the year 2011 on Saturday.
What was it like?
The atmosphere inside the stadium was magnificent. The stadium was overcrowded. People from distant nations and competing teams attended the match. In addition, the atmosphere was captivating as everyone chanted Vande Mataram to encourage team India. When India won the game, the audience went completely insane.
And how did you feel about it?
I felt emotionally enriched by the encounter. As I am a huge fan of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, I felt so relieved that once in my lifetime, I watched my idol play such a crucial knock for team India in a final match. Moreover, that match holds great importance as it was the match which was going to decide if Sachin would play in future or not.
Conclusion
The unforgettable experience of that match would forever be imprinted into my memory.

Describe a live sports match that you have watched Model answer 3
Introduction
There is no doubt that sports play an important role in people's lives. In the current modern era, an increasing number of people play a variety of games for this purpose. People prefer both indoor and outdoor sports today. Despite the fact that performing a sport is the ultimate form of entertainment, watching a live sporting event works like a charm.
As a sports fanatic, I enjoy playing sports tremendously. I am a big fan of cricket.
What was it?
It was a cricket match which was held in Wankhede stadium of Mumbai. It was the last match of the legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar.
When did you watch it?
I remember it was an ODI match in the Asia Cup tournament between India and Pakistan in the year 2012.
What was it like?
The continual cheers of the crowd made the game more exciting. In the middle of the game, I ran across college friends. I joined their group, and we all laughed heartily. It was a day-night match, where the second inning was played under floodlights. At that point, the entire crowd went insane.
And how did you feel about it?
I felt emotionally enriched by the event. On the other hand, I was pleased that I finally had the opportunity to watch Sachin play live cricket. On the other hand, I felt profound sadness because it was his final international cricket match. That day, I learned a crucial lesson: nothing in this world is permanent. Sachin Tendulkar's 24-year international cricket career came to an end on that day. It demonstrates that even good things come to an end. Consequently, we must embrace change in our life. Moreover, in that match I discovered my second idol, Virat Kohli, based on the way he batted and scored 183 runs to win the match for India.
Conclusion
Witnessing the game in person rather than on television made a lasting memory.
IELTS speaking part 3 - Describe a live sports match that you have watched follow up questions
The discussion round is conducted for about 4-5 minutes where you have to discuss questions about a general topic or question on your cue card. You can refer to the Follow-up questions for “Describe a live sports match that you have watched” which are given below.
1.Do you prefer watching sports live or on television?
As a sports enthusiast, I enjoy watching live sporting events. Due to a lack of time, I must then watch it on television. Despite the numerous benefits of watching a sporting event on television, nothing beats the fun and excitement generated in a stadium.
2.Why do some individuals enjoy watching live sports?
The primary factor is the atmosphere of the stadium or playground. Today's televised sporting events are beautifully portrayed, but they lack the intensity of a live game. When you're in the centre of a stadium's throng, you feel like a vital part of the team.
3.What types of sports do Indians enjoy watching?
Traditionally, the majority of Indians used to watch live cricket matches. Other sports attracted a relatively tiny audience. However, Indians are now interested in live telecasts of many types of sports, including hockey, football, tennis, basketball, etc. And as a result of this enormous upheaval, some sports that were on the edge of extinction have been revitalised. Kabaddi is the main example of this; a Kabaddi league has brought the sport back into the spotlight.
4.Do you believe that competition benefits students?
Students benefit from competition because it brings out their greatest qualities. In competition, they strategize and execute. Occasionally, they must employ novel plans and techniques to defeat the opponent. They gain the most from learning how to work with determination, dedication, and discipline. Therefore, children's lives undergo a paradigm shift due to healthy competition.
5.Do you consider sports to be a viable career option for students?
Indeed, with the growth of the sports business, this is a feasible career option. Nonetheless, I believe people must make a considerable effort to maintain physical and mental fitness. They need suitable mentoring if they are to achieve success in that sector.
