Describe a skill that you can teach other people Model answer 1

Introduction

Well, I have acquired several skills during my life, including driving, swimming, and cooking. I believe that these talents require an hour of practice. As today's young are compelled to travel great distances for school or work, they must develop abilities that will help them compete in an increasingly competitive environment. Therefore, it becomes obligatory for a person to possess the skills necessary for survival and independence.

What is it?

Here, I will describe a skill at which I excel and which I can teach to anyone interested in learning. The skill is cooking.

How did you learn it?

Since early childhood, I've had a strong interest in cooking due to my natural inclination. My mother taught me nearly all the dishes I know now. I was twelve years old when I began watching cooking shows on television and I learned about hundreds of international cuisines. In addition to standard dishes, I learned to prepare Costa rice, Jiaozi, bread dumplings, dim sum, and numerous more. I also attend cooking classes to improve my cooking skills.

How can you teach others this skill?

I am able to teach this expertise to others with ease. I also have training as a cookery instructor. In addition, I have taught cooking at a cooking centre. Therefore, I am qualified to instruct learners who wish to study cooking.

How do you feel about this skill?

I am quite proud of this ability. In fact, I consider cooking to be a part of life. Therefore, everyone, regardless of gender, must be proficient in this ability. People tend to study a variety of other skills, such as swimming, computer applications, foreign languages, and dancing, but the majority of them overlook cooking skills, which should be at the top of the list.

Conclusion

Hence cooking is the skill which I learned from my mother and instructors, and I could teach other people with ease.

Describe a skill that you can teach other people Model answer 5

Introduction

In this age of intense competition, having a skill is crucial. I am accustomed to always expanding my skill set. I got a new skill recently.

What is it?

I requested my mother to instruct me in 3D origami. My mother studied 3D origami via the internet a few years ago. She created these exquisite flower vases and swans from paper scraps. They were so gorgeous, and we used them to decorate our home. Every time someone came to visit, they would ask us how we made them. So, I asked my mother to teach me 3D origami last year. Since I had plenty of free time, I practised it thoroughly. Although 3D origami is not difficult, there is a learning curve. It takes time to learn how to fold parts and achieve a 3D appearance. Essentially, we fold papers to create little pockets, into which the remaining components fit.

How did you learn it?

The parts can then be given practically any shape. Consequently, I first learned how to cut and fold paper pieces. Learning how to form the parts requires a great deal of skill and practice. Initially, I considered this section to be very challenging, but I now find it to be really simple.

How can you teach others this skill?

Therefore, I would advise others to exercise patience and continue experimenting. There are also videos on YouTube that provide ideas for the many forms we can create. This is how I created my first few designs, but now I am experimenting with them simultaneously.

How do you feel about this skill?

I am quite pleased with this ability. I do not believe that I will become an expert, but I am competent enough to receive compliments for my 3D shapes. Recently, I created an aeroplane with one of the most intricate designs I've ever created.

Conclusion

Hence, I am convinced that I can teach this skill to anyone, provided they practice sufficiently.

IELTS speaking part 3 - Describe a skill that you can teach other people follow-up questions

You can review the follow-up questions for “Describe a skill that you can teach other people”. In the speaking exam, this discussion round will be conducted for about 4-5 minutes where you have to elaborate your answers to the examiner.

1.Should teachers be funny when they teach?

Yes, I believe teachers should use humour while instructing. It enlivens the classroom and strengthens relationships between students and instructors. In other words, pupils feel at ease addressing their uncertainties and issues with professors. However, teachers must learn when to be strict; else, classroom discipline may suffer.

2.What qualities should teachers have?

First and foremost, I believe that instructors should possess excellent communication abilities. They must know how to teach using basic language. They should also be excellent observers. They must be able to identify pupils' concerns and anxieties. Only then can they create confidence. Lastly, teaching requires patience. Teachers must be prepared to explain things multiple times if their students encounter difficulty.

3.Which do you believe is more significant, academic or practical skills?

Both academic and practical skills are of equal importance. I believe it depends on the individual's occupation. If a person wishes to be a teacher, a lawyer, or in any academic field, they must be an academic specialist. In other sectors, such as business, communication skills, etc., are far more crucial.

4.Which age group is optimal for learning?

I am a firm believer that there is no age limit for learning. We can acquire knowledge at any age. I feel that we should continue to acquire new talents since it keeps the mind sharp and engaged.

5.What abilities may a child acquire from his or her teachers and parents?

A youngster can acquire several skills from his teachers and parents, including honesty, respect for elders, punctuality, and many others. In addition, both teachers and parents contribute significantly to the development of these skills in children.
