IELTS Speaking Part 1 Reading

The Speaking module includes three parts that evaluate the candidate's English speaking skills. In the IELTS speaking part 1, the examiner will introduce himself/herself and then inquire about your identity. 1.Do you like reading? 

Answer: Of course, Yes, I'm a bibliophile. Books, in my perspective, are a pretty effective way to relax and learn something new. 

2.Do you read electronic book ?

Answer: Undoubtedly yes. Because of their ubiquity, electronic books are a big weakness of mine. I frequently download my favorite novels and copy them to my smartphones or Ipads and while I’m on the bus or other public locations, I will pull my hi-tech gadgets out and start to read directly on my phone.

3.What kind of books do you like to read?

Answer: The more literary the novel is, the more I like it. This includes writers such as Virginia Woolf, Jane Austen, and Haruki Murakami. Kafka on the Shore is my new favorite book!

4.What was your favorite book as a child?

Answer: I loved the novel "My Sister's Keeper" when I was a kid. Two sisters, one of whom required a kidney transplant, were the central theme. She saved her sister's life by giving a kidney to her, despite her initial reluctance to do so.

5.Have you lent books to other?

Answer: Sometimes I find myself thinking. My friends and I all like reading, so we've discussed the idea of setting up a book swap. Therefore, in order to have comic books to read in my leisure time, I often give out my books, most of which are written in English.

6.Have you borrowed books from others?

Answer: As I've said before, many of my closest friends are avid readers. And thus, whether I have a day off or want to catch up on the latest manga gossip, I don't hesitate to borrow some comic books from my friends.

7.Do you read professional books ?

Answer: Currently, I'm drowning in a sea of work! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to dedicate enough time to reading academic articles on my topic of study, but I was definitely a reader in college and bought a new book every week to expand my knowledge.

8.Do you usually read for leisure or for work purposes? 

Answer: Well, reading is crucial for my career, but I often read for pleasure. I read the newspaper everyday and carry a book along with me.

9.Do you think it's essential that children read regularly?

Answer: In my opinion, one of the most crucial skills a youngster can acquire is reading. Reading is the key to furthering one's knowledge in any field.

10.Do you think it is important to encourage children to read?

Answer: It's critical to expose and encourage your kids to read a lot. This encourages kids to learn new vocabulary terms every day and keeps them from becoming bored in class. Therefore, it's crucial.

11.Do you like to read at home or in other places? 

Answer: Reading in a garden or library is one of my favorite activities. Whenever I need to concentrate on my studies, I go to the library because of the quiet atmosphere and the abundance of resources available there. 

12.In what places do you think it is difficult to read?

Answer: I have difficulty concentrating on what I'm reading, especially in crowded spaces and sometimes even at home, where there's a lot of background noise.

13.Do you like to read by yourself or with other people? 

Answer: When I read, I want to be alone and in serenity, thus I usually do it by myself. The best way to immerse yourself in the written information presented is without distractions.

14.What book have you read recently?

Answer: Dale Carnegie's book, "How to Win Friends and Influence People," has been the most current book I read. Even though I came to this book a bit late, I found it to be quite mesmerizing and helpful; I learned a lot about how to collaborate with coworkers.

15.What did you learn from it? 

Answer: To better interact with others, I've learned to do things like aim to remember people's names, smile and listen more, avoid criticism, show real interest in others, and avoid passing criticism.

9.Crucial: Important 
 Eg: She was crucial in the discussions.

10.Furthering: to help forward 
 Eg: While furthering his study, he worked in various off-Broadway theatre shows under the name Gene Wilder.
 
11.Critical: vital 
 Eg: The supervisor is constantly extremely critical.

12.Abundance: existing or occurring in large amounts 
 Eg:There are those who work at it with a strong sense of abundance.

13.Serenity: the quality of being peaceful and calm 
 Eg:  I measured contentment, serenity, and enthusiasm rather than vigilance.

14.Immerse: to become completely involved in something 
 Eg:  She immersed herself in short story writing.

15.Distractions: The students are easily distracted, especially when they're tired. 
 Eg: Students are easily distracted, particularly when they are exhausted.

16.Collaborate: to work jointly with others or together especially in an intellectual endeavor 
 Eg: We will be less likely to commit an error if we collaborate together on the project.

17.Coworkers: a person engaged in the practice of co-working. 
 Eg: His coworkers believed he was generating an unnecessary alarm.

18.Criticism: the act of saying that something or someone is bad
 Eg:  This position requires the ability to accept criticism.

19.Mesmerizing: to have someone's attention completely so that they cannot think of anything else
 Eg: I was really mesmerised by the entire event.

20.Transplant: to move something, or to be moved, from one place or person to another 
 Eg: She had a transplant of bone marrow from an unknown donor.
